    Eden

it smells like the most delicious dessert in the bottle: honey, green figs, almond milk, a touch of coconut. too bad my skin hates coconut... when worn, it's like almond-scented plastic coconut.

    Blood Popsicle

this one is quite strange. the salty, copper-metallic tang of real blood and a touch of musk (red, I think?).
  3. hi, please let me know if this is not appropriate. I was recently frimped a partial of Conjure Oils's Voluptuary (a limited edition) and I really adore it. But I was wondering if there are similar BPAL fragrances, as my heart belongs to BPAL. The notes are: Sexy red musk, dried tobacco, black pepper, Indian patchouli, cardamom, tonka bean, cacao husk and aged vanilla resin. Thanks in advance for any help!

    White Rabbit

I recently got a (probably aged) bottle from another forum member and it smells different than the imp I have. My imp has a distinct sweet milky black tea note to it, and hardly any linen. In fact, it was similar to Dorian, except without the lemony muskiness that I get from Dorian. My bottle White Rabbit is all black tea wet, and then is all linen when dry, with no milk or sweetness. It's nice but not really what I was expecting. I'll have to re-test again and see if it's the same (all linen) again. If so, it's off to swaps.

    Stinky

This one smells fantastic in the bottle but becomes overwhelmingly plastic as soon as I apply it to my skin. And it is STRONG. The plastic eventually goes away after 4-5 hours and leaves a nice, creamy, light scent but I don't think I can handle the amped plastic period. I'm not really sure what note makes it bad for me - maybe the milk/cream note? Probably not the powder note as Diabolical Offspring was fine for me. It was very similar to how Lilith's Tea Party reacted with my skin chemistry. Boo, hiss.

    Pumpkin Masala Rooibos

I had to immediately swap this one away because I couldn't stand the smelling like cardamon. if there were other notes there, the cardamon was beating them down and screaming at the top of its lungs. it reminded me of the saffron note in Great Sword of War... for both, I smelled like I took a bath in curry.

    Yellow Snowballs

when freshly applied, it's a powerful punch of bright citrus, almost too much for me. thankfully, when dry, it's a really lovely creamy vanilla. I didn't really get any mint here. I got a bottle of this unsniffed in a swap. I'm still a little on the fence on this one. wet, it is a screaming blast of bright citrus, way too strong for me. it dries down to a really lovely vanilla cream with a hint of citrus. maybe I will keep the bottle because the dry phase is soooo nice.

    Alice in the Pumpkin Patch

this was my first pumpkin patch scent and even though it didn't work for me, I'm still dying to try out the others. I love Alice but the addition of pumpkin to Alice was just overwhelmingly cloyingly sweet and foody for my taste.

    Vice

I got a testable sniffy of this and I don't know what happened but this smells like cheese on me. like, the umami of parmaggiano reggiano was wafting from my skin. :/

    Jailbait

this is a naughty one. the scent description is pretty spot-on. the bazooka bubble gum is overwhelming at first, but it quickly gets taken over by lollipops and a heady, musky perfume of someone who is allllmost mature, but not quite. jailbait doesn't last very long - only a couple of hours. interestingly enough, Jailbait was probably the first BPAL perfume that took me by the hand and led me into the BPAL universe...

    Prospero

When applied wet, this smells exactly like grape Dimetapp. I can imagine this to be off-putting, but I remember being a little too fond of the taste of Dimetapp as a child, and even looked forward to getting sick just so I can have some of that tasty, tasty medicine. hahaha. Dry, Prospero becomes more of a subtle musky wine scent. I don't like it as much as Bordello, The Blood Garden, Lady MacBeth, and others that have that bloody berry boozy vibe, but I still dig it.

    Cairo

it's brilliant how this scent really evokes how I imagine ancient egypt to be like, in scent form. I don't think it quite suits me, but it was lovely to try out.

    Centzon Totochtin

This is a wicked and harsh scent, but I love it. Dark cocoa, blood, and a huge bonfire.

    Mandrake

My friend and I both tried this on and agreed on the description of its peculiar smell: plastic action figures, straight out of the box.

    Cockaigne

This was probably the strongest-smelling BPAL perfume that I tried so far. Saying it has a pretty strong throw is to put it mildly - as soon as I removed the lid of the imp, I felt like I was being punched in the face with sticky tooth-achingly sweet vanilla cake, haha. Applied on skin, it was even stronger. I swapped this one away, but am glad I tried it.

    The Blood Garden

This is one of my favorite BPALs. A real dialogue between me and the husband: Me: "This perfume is called The Blood Garden." Spouse: "Eeeeuuughghh. You smell like you murdered someone in a flower garden." Me: "I love it."
  17. inhumation

    Ava

Ava was pleasant vanilla floral, but fairly unmemorable wet. Dry, it smelled like burning ashes. very strange.
  18. inhumation

    Languor

I either hate narcissus or narcissus and opium together, because Languor was about as bad on me as Darkness was. When I put it on Languor, I get an intense and almost unbearable blast of stinky old lady perfume. Dry, it becomes faded to the point of being almost tolerable. off to the swaps pile!

    Thirteen (13): September 2013

This smells like cocoa powder-covered multivitamins to me, both in the bottle and on me. :/
