Initially I get a juicy pear with a sort of floral tone that I think comes from the white musk. The rice milk comes out more as it dries, making the pear creamy instead of juicy- it almost reads as vanilla and pear to me. The white musk sticks to the background and doesn't get soapy at all on me, just grounding the scent and giving it more of a "perfume" feeling and less of a foodie one. It lasts a while on me with a low to medium throw. Personally I think I might slather it more the future, since I'd like more throw throughout. Overall, I enjoyed it and could definitely see myself using up my decant.

I've only tried one other jasmine scent from the lab, and that one was technically jasmine tea, so I was a bit nervous that it would be too sharp and screechy, as I've experienced with some commercial jasmine notes. In the vial I get mostly a floral vanilla, but once it hits the skin, the jasmine comes firmly to the front. The vanilla background makes it somehow both fresh and creamy, and contrary to my fears it isn't sharp at all. After a few minutes it settles and becomes a little less fresh and a little more perfume-y. I was prepared for that when I signed up for something with jasmine in it, so I don't count it as a bad thing. As time goes on the star anise sneaks in and makes the scent a little more interesting without interfering with the overall jasmine vibe, and on the drydown it becomes much more of the jasmine vanilla buttercream that others have described. Overall it's sweet and not as heady as jasmine can sometimes be, probably because it wears pretty close to the skin on me. Lovely, but not necessarily an everyday scent for me due to the overt foodiness of the drydown.

Plum juice, lilac, leather, and a smattering of herbs. In the imp and wet, this is very strong leather and something sweet. Once it settles down, it completely morphs and becomes plum backed by green herbs and lilac. As the day goes on, the plum becomes a little sweeter and the lilac more evident, but it otherwise doesn't change. The staying power is alright, but nothing to brag about. It's pretty faint by dinner if I apply around 7 AM. Overall, it conjures the image of eating a ripe plum in my backyard, in the shade out near the vegetable-herb garden surrounded by lilac bushes. This'll be a great one for me in early summer, when everything's finally turned green and before the heat sets in.

I've tried this a few times, so these are my overall impressions. In the bottle: Strawberries and clover. I haven't tried a BPAL scent with strawberry, before, and it's surprisingly realistic. Wet: Clover and grass jump to the forefront, but there's something unfamiliar that must be the orris butter. The strawberry is much less prominent. On the drydown: Everything kind of balances out. The strawberry never gets as strong as it was in the bottle, but the clover and especially the grass back off a bit. The rose never showed up on my skin, and I can't say I'm disappointed, since roses so rarely work on me. I wish the strawberry had been more noticeable on me, since I like the note in the bottle so much. Overall, I really like this one for fresh, breezy days from late Spring to the end of Summer, when the air is warm but not humid nor oppressively hot.
