Best BPAL blends without floral notes

I am NOT a floral person at all. I recieved a free sample of Hamadryad which I had not ordered because the description says: Seven dry woods with mossy lichen and a gentle breeze of forest flowers. While the first part of the description sounds perfect for what I enjoy in a scent, The flowers worried me.... When I tried it though...OoooOOOooo It starts out spicy cinnamon (dry, woody spicy - not like red hots) then dries to these soft gorgeous wood notes - it's not really floral at all, just slightly softer and gentler some how...... I really suggest you try it!

When your favorite GC blends are discontinued

I loved the soft wood in Hamadryad. Not too strong or overpowering -just gentle and earthy. Are there any other oils with similar qualities? maybe Ulalume? Thanks!

    Hamadryad

Nature spirits and protectors of the world's groves and forests that appear as breathtakingly beautiful women. Hamadryads are born into a tree that serves as both a home and an anchor for the creature's soul. They are sometimes tricksters, sometimes seducers, sometimes helpful and benign, but they are always fierce and furious protectors of the natural world. Seven dry woods with mossy lichen and a gentle breeze of forest flowers. ohhhh goodness... I love this oil! It is a very soft scent, woods and flowers (not heavy flowers though). I smell cinnamon initialy but it fades quickly. This is my perfect soft, cozy, everyday scent. I don't have to worry about overpowering others when I wear this. This is my "I smell good" oil as opposed to "this oil smells good". I'll need a vat of this one.

How do you apply your BPAL oils?

I use a capillary tube and it is perfect! It sucks up just enough oil and comes out just a bit at a time when I dab it on so I don't accidently overload. Also, since it is glass it is easy to sterilize between oils.

    Chaos Theory

I have Chaos Theory LXVI In the bottle this is a very familiar smell...I'm not sure from where... My dad sniffed it and said "Oh! That's exactly what flowers at a funeral smell like! They're always different from flowers anywhere else.." To me it is a citrus floral. Not something I would normally be drawn to if it was described to me (I'm not a citrus or floral person at all), But this is really quite nice. I think I smell grapefruit and some flowers (no idea which ones). I felt very focused and awake when I put this on but in a calm, unhurried way. When it dried down it became very creamy and soft but still fresh. At first I wanted to say that there was vanilla in it but I think it might be a creamy scented floral. I would NEVER have picked out something like this but I'm really glad I ended up with this bottle. an added note...I put this on when I was feeling overwhelmed by studying and projects, not to mention a house that desperatly needed cleaning. After putting it on, I calmed down a bit and and was able to get through what I needed to do. I felt collected...hmmmm, order out of Chaos?

    That's what I did...I'm sure it'll be fine
  7. I have these imp's on their way (my first order!): Dana O'Shee O Queen of Sheba Snake Oil Dragon's Milk Hellcat Burial Lop Garou Zombi Seance Darkness Black Phoenix The Hesperides Noir Bordello Lady MacBeth Sacred Whore of Babylon Harlot Lightning Belladona Tempest Depraved Hurricane Entropy hmmmm.....do you think some of the strong one's I've chosen could be diluted with apricot oil to dimenish their "range"? Snake Oil sounds so lovely but I'm really wary of anything too strong.....I work in a fisheries ecology lab with alot of rugged outdoorsy types whose favorite scents are probably beer and barbaque sauce I love the folks I work with but I feel like I can't be too girlified (I wore earrings the other day and they wanted to know what I was "dressed up" for...hee hee) or they won't take me seriously. But I still like to smell nice....but just not "perfumy". Another question - I have a major crush on a guy I work with...which scents do men love?
  8. are there any I should definately avoid? ones that really jump across a room?
  9. I dislike people being able to smell me unless I'm standing close to them (I want to make people lean in, not step back ) Any recommendations?
