    Lurid

This is such a distinct scent and I don't doubt that the Bulgarian Lavender plays a big role in this. It's very beckoning. It's a mid to low range scent but the ozone notes, perhaps even it out so that it's mellow rather than heady or too incense-y (at least for me). Upon dry-down, the ozones blend to create a more salty aquatic rather than high pitched, electric aquatic. Perhaps the musk is what pulls it down. All I know is that for me, this is a great scent. It doesn't have too much throw, but it's not by any means a scent that doesn't create a throw at all. Something about this seems soothing and nostalgic, too. And I don't mean that it reminds me specifically of my past, but more that it seems to encase within its scent a hidden past of good things. I'd imagine it would be very good for wearing to go to bed, or in one of those pensive or creative moods.

    Debauchery

A musky and sensual womanly scent. A little goes a long way. Middle Eastern spices (the musk, I presume) blend well with the opium while the civet gives it a warm, almost cinnamon-like scent to it. However, it does this without being foody at all. Senual, sexy, a bit haughty, and again, very womanly. It's not something you're going to want to bathe in, I'd imagine, as it's a very strong scent. But it is sensual and sexy enough for me to keep the Imp, at least. I don't think I'm going to get a big bottle because so little goes so far that I'm thinking that this imp could last me for a very long time. I'm thinking about using some unscented massage oil and mixing it with a few drops of this for a watered-down scent without losing the purity of it.

    Tiger Lily

In vial: A high pitched floral; Lilys and perhaps Honeysuckle? Wet on skin: shimmery, light, warm, and high pitched floral, somewhat of an aquatic feel (but no aquatic notes that I can detect, I think it's more just the movement of this reminds me of danube and the florals remind me of sea of glass) just a half step lower than in the vial, but still lower which is good. drydown: a warm high pitched floral, great for spring. I still swear I get honeysuckle, but I think it could also just be honey. There's something anchoring it all together so that the high notes aren't headachey, but whatever it is that holds this scent together isn't low enough for me. I historically don't like florals, so I'm going to pass this along to someone else. However, this is a really good floral for those who do like them. Warm, golden and springy, I would imagine it would cause people who like florals to be in an upbeat, bright and good mood. It's got the same tone as hanging gardens and some of the other popular floral scents. Husband says: Smells better on me than it did in the vial, but he gets a powdery feel (I however, consider this scent too "wet" to be powdery at all - but then again, my body morphs florals like woah, so it could be just that I think it's less powdery than usual hehe)

    Hymn to Proserpine

In Imp: Fruity with amber wet on skin: A very unusual fruity scent in that it's more dark and soothing rather than the usual pick-me-up I get from wearing fruit scents. It's seductive and I can tell that there is a more resiny or musky note hidden in the background that seems to be fighting for dominance. Dry down: More well blended in that the notes don't seem to be fighting anymore. The note in the background never rises to the foreground and the fruity scent remains dark and soothing and takes on a more multidimensional feel while whatever that is in the background - resin or something slightly earthy that I'm going to have to go a head and peg as sandalwood holds the blend down to make it more "solid". From the fruit scent, it smells like pomegranate, but not just that fruit. Perhaps a berry as well. The amber is the middle note that holds it all together. There are no really high notes in this, so this is a very relaxing scent, something to wear after a stressful or over-stimulating day, something to wear while reading or doing a night routine (scrabble, crossword puzzles) and also something that might aid in sleep (as I'm already seeing it aiding me in sleep). Completely dry: There is no doubt in my mind that this will be a big bottle. It's just perfect on me and I'm glad to have found another calming scent. I couldn't be more happy with this! : ) Edited to add: 1, the label on my imp says, "Hymn to ProsPerpine" - makes my imp feel more special hehe. 2, the berry that I was detecting before seems to be cranberry - that's what my body has been amping up at least.

    Absinthe

When I first put this on, I got Minty lemon, then pinesol (for about 10 seconds) and now that it's dry, it smells exactly like licorice on me. If I breathe deeply, I can detect some of the notes, but for some reason they all blend together to make nothing but licorice. I happen to not like licorice, so this will be going to a better home. Husband's Note: At first you smelled like limes. Now you smell like rotten limes.

    Blood Rose

In the imp: A fruity sweet rose. wet on skin: All notes detectable with the wine coming out the strongest. drydown: The resin really makes the scent for me. The wine is sweet, rather than dry. And the rose balances everything perfectly though it does go a little powdery, it's not too powdery for me. Definitely a keeper. Hubby says: "What is that? It smells like alcohol over here." (Perhaps the wine is a little heavier to his nose than it is to mine)

    Santa Muerte

All I get from this scent is a sweet leathery vetiver. For people who enjoy a nice vetiver blend, this is a must have, but for me, not so much. Sending it to the swap pile.

    Mouse's Long and Sad Tale

For a Vanilla scent, this has got to be the best one I've tried yet from the salon. It's warming, not too incency, almost sparkles and with the sandalwood almost smells like vanilla spice cake in the background with some warmth and incense in the foreground. It's creamy, but not too creamy. However, Vanilla gives me a headache; always has; and so I unfortunately can't hold onto this, but I'll be very happy to gift it to one of my friends who can appreciate the scent. It really is very lovely.

    Moon Rose

In the vial, it didn't smell as floral as one might expect. It did smell floral-y, but also with an almost dark broody or aquatic undercurrent. It reminded me of the sacred rose oils one would find in Bulgaria except with more kick in the rose and less spices. Wet on skin - The rose takes over as a very pointed, sharp, and almost "alive" scent rather than the dull powdery scent that often accompanies the rose note. In the background, there is the undercurrent described in the vial, however, the undercurrent reveals simply a floral background and depth complimenting the rose note that brings to the mind the imagery of being in the rose section of the garden, smelling mostly the rose but also taking in the whole garden in the background. Drydown - The rose keeps its power at the front of the notes, but the background notes also come out more. A scent that keeps making me want to smell my wrists over and over again. Notes: There's something provocative about this scent while also remaining somewhat childish at the same time. But when I say childish, I mean it somehow captures a childish wonder at its smell rather than being a more childish scent. Not too haughty, not too rosey, and not too much throw, but enough for people no notice as you walk by. One of the background notes smells like Honeysuckle, but I don't believe it is because Honeysuckle historically aggravates my nose.

    Bien Loin D'Ici

It's real hard to pick out the notes in this aside from the musk (which even it itself is oddly tame), but I did get a wave of caramel about 10 minutes after applying. This is definitely a sensual scent, something to wear in the evening. It has a natural throw; not too much and not too little and is naturally balanced. Wet on skin, different notes danced around, but with the dry down they've all just blended into a sensual glow. My husband really likes it. I think it's just right, but no big bottle. I'm definitely hanging onto the imp, though. : )

    Lampades

Wet on skin: Cranberry seemed like grape to me. I considered it a combination between Grapes and Intrigue which is ridiculous considering the notes in both of them being so different. Dry down: Murky earthy/slightly woody scent with the cranberry note fighting to come out. It comes in and out in waves. I'm not detecting the floral. In its description, I would have preferred to get more spices (they come out a bit after about 15 minutes, but aren't overpowering and are instead well blended), but I'm equally happy with this scent anyway. It's calming, not too abrasive but does have a throw and also not high pitched at all, so I'm thankful for no headaches today. Note: My husband calls this lampshades and giggles hysterically. ::rolls eyes::, but it's hubby-approved. : )

    Scarecrow

In imp: An almost sweet alcoholic mix (which is completely wrong, but still, this is what I smell) Wet on skin: I get a gold/green scent with more foresty smells than field smells. Definitely an autumn scent. Keep sniffing my wrist, trying to figure out what that forest scent is. My first impression was Eucalyptus or some Northern yew tree - just because the forest scent stood out so much, but after a few sniffs, it smells more like a forest during autumn time. Dry down: A pleasant powdery field smell without the associated allergies that I have for smells like this. The woodsy scent has gone to the background, but it occasionally flares up. Final Verdict: I really like this smell. It actually ::gets embarrassed:: reminds me of that scene from the Twilight book in the clearing in the middle of the forest. However, it's very masculine, but I don't see this as being a scent my husband would like to wear. I don't think it'll be a big bottle, but I'm certainly holding on to this one for its uniqueness. Edited to add: Strange, but I get it as a middle to strong smell and my husband gets it as a light hardly there smell when he sniffs me.

    Delight

In the imp, sweet and bubbly. Wet on the skin - I was guessing blindly at what was in this and I thought, not rose, but rose powder maybe? Orchid? Plumeria? champagne? Then, I read the description and I was floored. I historically do so horribly with florals that I can't believe that this is working so well with me. Drydown: I swear there's gotta be some sort of fruit and champagne in it! It's just so bubble and not florally. Yeah, I can detect the florals, but the blend is so well done that it somehow is a way of wearing florals for people who historically don't like them. Note - This scent reminds me of a richer "glitter" without the bubblegum-like sweetness Note - I really can't stop sniffing my arm; this scent is great. Note - Delight in a bottle for reals! Big bottle here we come!

    Blood

When I first smelled this in the imp, it smelled thick, strong and gooey. And after a deep inhale, two seconds later, it really did smell like its name. Picked at random from my most recent BPAL purchase, here's how it worked for me: In the imp: Thick and strong - note to self only use a little bit. Wet on the skin: Just a few swipes go a LONG way with this scent. The cherry came out strong. Within 5 minutes, I was afraid I'd get a headache from the overpowering cherry/clove scent so I ran my wrists under running water, hoping to get the bulk of the scent off. Dry down (after rinsing off): The cloves take over, the cherry goes far into the background and the other notes balance out the cloves just enough to not smell too spicy. The cherry doesn't go the route of being cough syrup cherry, but instead balances out the blend to add that bit of sweetness to the mix. Final thoughts: This is an excellent Christmas scent, and it actually worked on me in the end despite my HUGE distaste for cherry smells of any kind. Only warning is: a little goes a LOOOOONG way, which is good because I don't anticipate this being a big bottle purchase, but I'd like enough of it to continue to wear when the feeling strikes me. Also, I think this is a scent that a lot of people would comment on since it is unique in that, personally, I haven't come across many perfumes at department stores that have the clove note in it. Husband's reaction: When I first put it on, he thought it was "alright", but strong. When it dried down he said he "liked" it.

    Bluebeard

After taking a shower this morning, I was eager to try out a new frimp, so I chose one at random and Bluebeard it was. This is definitely not a scent for me, but it does have some positives. Wet and dry on my skin, I smell leather (though I know it's not a note and assume that to be vetiver) and something herby/florally that if in nature, I'd surely be allergic to. Strengths: This is a well-blended scent, where for me, it's hard to pick out any of the notes listed except the vetiver + some sort of floral. This scent is much more masculine than feminine. This scent has good throw; only a tiny bit will last a long time. For me, this smells like a heap of leathery old smelling and dirty, worn in boots that have romped in the pollen of every known allergen to my body. Definitely on the swap list.

    Roadhouse

Wow, you don't have to be even somewhat familiar with notes to catch the obvious floral quality to this scent upon first application! In the imp: sweet with a sort of tang (imagining that's the boozy note) wet on skin: dandelions, sharp and sweet strong floral which oddly enough isn't abrasive for me, who is a self-proclaimed floral note hater with a little bit of the bottom notes fighting to come out. drydown: Ah, harmony. The florals are still the most obvious note, but they blend well with the himp and tobacco. Very spring at dusk sort of smell to it. Absolutely thrilled with this scent. Since I don't like florals, I won't be getting a big bottle of this, but I'm definitely keeping the imp around for those occasions that I think wearing a floral scent is most appropriate.

    Satyr

Masculine, dirty (in a good way), I think I'm getting some ginger in the mix, and also very strong - I could have used half the amount I usually put on and gotten enough of an effect. I'm also thinking there might be licorice in here, but I'm not strong on that one. Not a big bottle, but definitely in the "keep" pile. Edited to add: I also get the Vicks smell during the first hour.

    Polyhymnia

In the imp: smells like itself - sweet and light smelling wet on skin: lemon + that sweet smell makes for a sweet and sour blend that balances itself nicely. The sweet smell (I believe it's honeysuckle) isn't syrupy, but light, but for anyone who lemon does badly on, I could see this turning too lemony at this point. drydown: lemon has calmed down quite a bit and the bottom notes are starting to come out more (definitely can tell the rosemary, but it's not overwhelming) + the sharp white sage note as well. I'm undecided on this. I'm definitely keeping the imp around since it didn't turn into a disaster on my skin, but no big bottle for me for now.

    Ochosi

In the bottle: Dark green, herby scent. Wet on skin: sparkling dark green forresty scent that sparkles Drydown: A very balanced forrest scent that actually doesn't smell like menthol, but rather like moss and trees and even a little bit of dirt. It's not as "sparkely" on the dry-down, but that doesn't bother me at all. This is definitely going on my big bottle list, as I love forrest scents. For anyone who likes forrest scents, I'd say definitely give this one a try.

    The Mock Turtle's Lessons

Got this as a frimp. Without reading the description, I got an exotically fruity/light florally up beat bubble gum type of scent. After reading the description: cannot detect the "aquatic" note nor the vodka, but if sniff hard enough, I can tell the other notes.
  21. KassiK

    Libertine

On me this is a predominantly herby scent with bergemont balancing it out. It smells much more herby on than in the imp. It doesn't have much throw, though. It also seems to me like a scent that isn't gender specific. Bergamont is one of my favorite notes, so this might turn into a big bottle.
  22. KassiK

    Tushnamatay

This is a light foody scent and I think I'm getting some vanilla in the mix. It's hard to pick out single notes, but it's definitely a cakey foody scent without being too sweet or giving me a headache. This is definitely something I could go to sleep by. I'm keeping the imp, but doubt I'll get a big bottle. Edited to add: This is such a faint scent that it doesn't put off much throw.
  23. KassiK

    Thalia

The over-all smell of this is golden pear. Pear and plumeria are the two dominant notes and the white champagne sort of brings them together so that they're not too sweet. It's a delicious scent and reminds me of a pear's version of the hesperides. It definitely is raising my mood. It's a keeper and may turn into a big bottle.
  24. KassiK

    Urania

This is such a gorgeous scent! In the imp it smells more floral than it is on for me. It's hard to describe because this is one of those scents that really smells like itself. It's a light, sweet but not too sweet scent and it REALLY captured the essence of what it was trying to capture. This scent IS the night sky; stars and all. This is definitely going to turn into a big bottle for me.
  25. KassiK

    Serpent's Kiss

This is a burning red colored cinnamon candy smelling scent. I can definitely smell the vetivert and spice, but it's over all too much spicy redness for me. I prefer more subtle scents than abrasive ones. This one definitely delivers on the notes, though, so if you like the notes listed, you should love this scent. For me it was a frimp that is going to the swap pile.
