Fuzzy, soft, beautiful, powdery, musk. I can smell a hint of dill when I open the bottle but it's gone as soon as it hits my skin. Very gorgeous. Good throw and very long lasting.

My new GC love is Les Infortunes De La Vertu which is a very unisex (more feminine to me) leather scent. I love how smokey it is but how it has a touch of floral. LOVE the leather.
Looking forward to trying Doc Constantine.

I really get the lemon, grapefruit and ginger plus a cakey note and a sugary note. Very nice!! It's the first ginger to work for me at all! It does remind me of Eat me with that cake note but really it's completely different with the ginger and citrus. I love it.

Haloes is fantastic on my body chemistry. I smell a similarity to Antique Lace, as well but Haloes is creamier on me. I get mostly a sweet vanilla and a hint of sandalwood. I imagine the fruits and tonka are adding dimension to the vanilla. I love it!
I'm glad I took a chance and just got a whole bottle.

When I sniff this in the vial it smells very aquatic, fresh and kind of sweet.
On my skin it's more sweet. I can smell the honey and it doesn't go soapy the way most aquatics and florals do on me.
Oh it's really beautiful and unique. I know I'll use up this decant and probably wish that I had more.

Snow Bunny
in Yules
Wow, this is beautiful. I get the snow and the berries, maybe a hint of pine. Gorgeous. Now to search out a bottle.

One of the truest BPAL/Lush matches on me is Sitting Up With a Sick Friend and Hollywood. Every time I wear Sitting Up I am thrilled all over again to find that gorgeous Hollywood glamour in perfume form. That is so interesting! Hollywood and Fever have the same (I'm pretty sure) scent and on my skin chemistry Baghdad comes very close to Fever.

I got this as a frimp from the lab and I never would have tried it on my own.
Wet: sharp and perfumey sandalwood
After 5 minutes: It starts to get well rounded and gorgeous. It smells familiar, like an incense I used to use
After 30 minutes: Wow! I can really smell the rose and sandalwood and yet neither is amping up or getting ugly. Huh. It's starting to remind me of Lush's Fever a little bit. It's more complex, though.
After a few hours: It's a wee bit powdery now but still beautiful. A new favorite.
I'll be getting a bottle in my next order.

I get Froot Loops! Wonderful and fruity, sugary, delish!!

That makes me sadAwesome sounding scents though...
Don't be sad! I bet you know someone who could pick one up for you, if you requested it!

Very masculine. I get a bit of patchouli and lots of leather. Not much musk on me or my man. I can see the appeal of this scent but I prefer to put Gobin or Snake Oil on my husband.

I expected to want to hoard many bottles of this scent.
Wet: vanilla-ish and fruity. Kind of syrupy.
On: hmmm . . . not what I expected at all. Syrup goes a touch candle-like on me. Not too much vanilla.
Dry: Wow. On me, this oil dries down to the scent of the interior of our '89 Corolla plus air freshener. Too weird.
This is the first vanilla scent that has turned on me. That's okay! I have plenty of others to adore!

October. I didn't expect that I would like this one so much!
In the wee decant: Fresh and clean but it really is fall-like.
Wet on my skin: It reminds me of walking in early October when the leaves start falling and slightly decaying. There is a fresh breeze in the air, hinting at winter.
Drydown: It goes a bit masculine and cologney after it's been on a while but I love it in my locket or in my car. Can't wait for November, now!

Did anyone ever hear an official response to the original question? (and I don't mean just quoting the website) I know a lot of places say CO2s should never be applied directly to the skin either and the absolutes are more concentrated even if they aren't real EOs. Of course I'm not saying that BPAL is cheap at all (on the contrary, Beth is a olfactory genius!), I too am just concerned about putting undiluted oils on my skin. I also am concerned because some are really bad for children and elderly such as eucalyptus (which is one note I really like). I totally understand keeping the blends a secret, and I honestly don't care whether or not it's synthetic, my only concern is how diluted the oils are. I did read the entire topic here and the question never really got answered concretely.I hate to beat a dead horse and all, I am just wondering if anyone ever got an official response to this question rather than speculation (however educated it may be).
I'm assuming it's safe, but honestly long term effects of things are often difficult to tell and can take years. I think I'm a slatherer (my skin is eating up the few I have, heh!) and it's something that concerns me. I'm not saying "ZOMG I can never use these!" But it really would put my mind at ease to know someone got an official response to the inquiry.
I wonder if emailing customer service would put your mind at ease? Then you would get a real official answer.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed TKO!! It was probably my first BPAL true love.
In the bottle it smells strongly of lavender and sugar. Very sharp and sweet.
Wet on my skin I get a creamy sugared lavender.
Dry it smells very much like marshmallows with a strong lavender note.
After I've had it on for hours and hours, the lavender fades away and I'm left with a sugary, creamy vanilla. I wear it more
as a perfume than a sleep blend. Sometimes I wear it to bed but I don't have much trouble sleeping right now so I have
no idea if it's effective or not.

Darn!! This is the first vanilla that hasn't worked on me!
Wet: creamy pear syrup
on: sweet, sweet vanilla candle
Dry: uhhh . . . this smells like the interior of our '89 Corolla. ? The first vanilla to turn on me!!
-
Very clean and classic smelling. My husband told me that I smell like the sexy teacher he might have had
in high school. A grown up scent that lasts all day! The longest lasting oil I've ever used. Gorgeous.
-
Wet: It's very lavender with something fresh underneath
After a few minutes: The lavender fades a bit and I start smelling the fresh floral underneath. It's almost grassy, clover. If that's the magnolia
then I'll be hunting down more blends with magnolia
Dry: What a sweet, fresh, clear, flowery blend. A fresh floral, I suppose. The lavender is just a background note now and all of the other notes are shining through. Gorgeous. I think I'll need another bottle soon.

When it's wet it smells like a vaguely fruity deep lavender.
As it dries down more fruits come out and so does a sugary/marshmallow-y scent. Mmmmmmm . . .
After an hour or so I get a vanilla, sugar, currant, musk. This blend is beautiful. I love it!!

I had such high hopes for Misk U. I really did. I wanted the coffee and cream and dust. If I had read any review that said anything about caramel I wouldn't have bothered. So, I open up the imp and I smell . . . caramel. I put it on and I smell like maple syrup. crap. Why does my skin amp caramel and turn it into maple syrup. why????

I didn't expect to fall in love with this blend. And even though so many of the reviews said "peach tea" I still ordered it (thanks nursekins!)
Wet: huh . . .it smells like Republic of Tea's Ginger Peach. Tea doesn't usually work for me.
On: Wow! This is so creamy and much more complex and delicate than peach tea. Must be the tonka and benzoin. Mmmmmm . . .
Dry: Love! Creamy and sweet with just a hint of ginger and tea. Just gorgeous!
I love it! And the label is too beautiful. I'm glad I get to keep it.
-
in the imp: pretty floral. but will it go soapy?
on my skin: what a fresh and creamy floral. Wasn't there supposed to be vanilla in this blend?
drydown: oooh! There's that vanilla blooming on my skin. aaahhhhh! How beautiful. I love the blend of fresh, well rounded florals with creamy pretty vanilla.
Regan is now on my bottle list.

Thank you, angharad!!!

I don't understand the difference between aged Snake Oil and fresh Snake Oil. Can someone point me in the direction of a thread where the answer exists. I seem to be internetz challenged in regards to the search.

It's a very creamy and sugary vanilla on me. The teak is doing similar things on me that sandalwood does. It makes the blend sexier and more incense. It is absolutely wonderful and the longer I have it on the better it gets. It was made for my skin chemistry.
