  1. In the bottle: Sweetented lemons, a little on the cleanser side.

Wet on the skin: Lemonhead candies. Sweet lemon candies with a bit of a sour edge.

Dry: The lemonhead candies fade a bit, and I'm getting a sense of light musk and perhaps a little green tea? Has a lot of similarities to Phobos on the dry-down.

  2. You know how when you first open up a boxed cake mix, and that delicious powdered cake smell wafts up at you? Yeah, this is it. Yummy yellow cake batter, with the teeniest hint of spices. The light spices burn off pretty quickly, leaving only the yellow cake behind. Medium throw, looooong wear length on my skin (8+ hours and still going strong). My absolute favorite proto from this trunk show! :wub2:

  3. Wet on the skin I'm getting mandarin, tea and a bit of honey. Dries down after about an hour to a gorgeous vanilla with a hint of musk. Luckily for me the rose never really came out (which is amazing since I tend to amp rose to high heaven) and the honey was very well-behaved. :joy:

  4. This one is hard to describe. In the bottle and wet on the skin it's a buttery, rum-y, foody scent with possibly some pumpkin(?). Like kikithepirate, I find that it has a sweet floral component to the scent once it dries. A bit of a morpher, but I think it will appeal to foodies as well as those who like sweetened (but not candy-sweet) feminine blends.

  5. The scent of sacred incense swirling up the steep slopes to Swayambhunath Stupa. Saffron, blessed sandalwood, Himalayan cedar and the miraculous lotus of the Buddha with chiuri bark and Nepalese spices.

To my nose, this is old-fashioned root beer soda + cedar, with a bit of minty something underneath it all.

  6. This prototype is nothing at all like the released version. Instead of jelly donuts, I'm getting good ol' American Apple Pie. In the bottle, it smells more like pie crust with the cinnamon-apple hiding in the background. Dry on the skin, the cinnamon-apple comes out a bit more, so that it now smells like a freshly baked apple pie. Medium throw, but only seems to last a couple hours.

  7. In the bottle this is very sweet foody blend, almost like butterscotch, but not quite. On the skin, it blossoms into a gourmand, rich, buttery, maple syrup scent. Like the way syrup smells when it's drizzled on buttered pancakes. It has very strong throw, at least on my skin, and lasts HOURS.

  8. You know the smell of an orange being peeled? The tangy orange rind, combined with the sweet juices of the actual fruit? Take that, plus a little soft musk, and you have PL176.

    LOVE this.

  9. Looks like 2 different chemistry types are showing up with this prototype. I tend to agree more with Persephone's review. I thought I was going nuts when I smelled coconut, but I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one. :P

I find Dorian v2 to be somewhat similar to the released version, but with more lavender, less lemon, and an added bit of coconut. The lavender tones down pretty quickly on my skin, and the coconut seemed stronger as time when on. Still has the musky tea quality that I love about Dorian, but the added lavender and coconut make this blend more creamy and delicate than the original. I really love it!
