    Gypsy Queen

Just got a half-imp of this from an ebay auction and so, here we go: First impression in the bottle: a bit perfumey, like something my mom might wear. Not that that's bad but, it doesn't smell really distinct to me, you know? Wet, on skin: not so perfumey, nice, though I can't tell you what it is I'm smelling yet. On the drydown: Nice, but I can smell the musk note and I'm a little unsure...not exactly fond of that particular note. I'll have to let it sit a while and see. In conclusion, so far: Nice, but nothing to angst over because it's an LE.

In the bottle: Lemon is overwhelming, though I think I get a whiff of the rosemary On my skin: still very lemony (this happened to me with namaste too) After a few minutes: other scents trying to come through, but whatever it is I'm getting past the lemon isn't something I'd want to smell like, though I can't put a name to it.

In the bottle: My first thought was alcohol. That may be because I have a habit of drinking diet cherry coke with rum (and amaretto sours with cherries smashed into them) so I may be associating the cherry with the alcohol. On my skin: definitely dark, decadent. I get the cherry now. And a bit of the chocolate. Nice, but I don't think it's something I would wear.

In the bottle: Pep-o-mint lifesave. That's all I'm getting. On my skin: still minty After a few minutes: Still minty. So really? That's a no, from me.

    Gluttony

Unsure if I will ever actually wear this but it smells absolutely wonderful. It will at least be something to use in an oil diffuser. Or to wear when I really really want chocolate and sweet. I keep sniffing my elbow, where I put it to try. EDIT: Well, I put myself to the lie about wearing it. Really in need of indulgence today and this is just wonderful for that.

Going through my box, trying to decide which imps to keep. It smells lovely and sharp in the bottle. On my wrist? It smells like going to a nursing home. This is not a keep for me.

    Snake Oil

I can see why this one is popular, it is not, however, my favorite. I do rather like it, and it certainly seemed when I wore it for the first time the other day that several gentlemen of my acquaintance were fond of it as well. However, since several people have mentioned Snake Oil needing aging, I think I'll give it a while before I try it again, just to see. But the basic verdict is: you probably can't go wrong with this one. Tasty.

    Urd

Woo, red patchouli strikes again and in a good way! So far every scent from bpal that I've absolutely adored on me (there are a few of the "foody" ones I really like, but on me, I just smell like something to eat. Which isn't a bad thing but..er, anyway...) has had this as a common note. After trying Skuld and being rather disappointed in smelling like grapey cat pee, I was a little wary of trying her eldest sister. However, one sniff of the imp cured me of that and I went on ahead and slathered some Urd on. And man, am I glad I did. Lovely and warm and I am one happy Ana with this one.

    Pele

This one just isn't all that remarkable to me. Light floral, pretty, but that's about it, and it seemed I was only a half hour into wearing it and it was already pretty much gone. I was born in Honolulu and there's a special place in my heart for Pele, but this scent didn't remind me of her at all. As someone else asked, "where is the fire?". I think even the goddess in repose would still have more of a hint of spice. Disappointing, as I really wanted this one to work.

I thought I wouldn't like another "foody" smell to wear (I love the smell of Jack, for instance, but it's not something I'd wear) but this? I adore this. I was sniffing my wrists all day long. Will definitely wear more.

    Titania

When I opened this, I thought I'd love it, it's beautiful and light and floral but after it dried on me, while I still get flowers, I also get dryer sheets. I don't mind smelling like freshly dried clothes but you know, it's not what I'm looking for in a perfume oil.

    Fenris Wolf

I just put this on and on the first whiff, it makes me think of my current favorite, Anne Bonny. Must be the red sandalwood. Now I'm sniffing my wrist some more that it has dried and I'm getting a general warm, woody smell. Very nice, very cozy. A bit masculine, but only a bit and I like it on me.

    Skuld

Sniffing it out of the imp and while still wet on my skin I get grape. Not a bad grape, but grape. I think of purple grape juice. Later, after it's dry, I get what I think I've seen termed "cat pee". This just doesn't work on me which is kind of depressing. Hoping Urd or Verdandi will work out better.

    Jack

It smells lovely. I adore this particular scent. Just not on me. I felt like a candle. Or pumpkin pie. Something like that. I think I'll keep this one for an oil diffuser, but I won't be wearing it. (It was fun to wear for Halloween, though!)

    Anne Bonny

Out of the few that I've actually tried wearing so far, this is my favorite. For me, it smells lovely both in the imp and on my skin and the scent remains for hours afterward whereas with some of the others I've tried, after an hour or two, there's not much left to smell. Besides, it's strong, a little sassy, and I like it.

    Chimera

I love the cinnamon at first, and in fact, I bought this because I wanted to try it for the cinnamon, but as it dries on me, I don't get either the cinnamon or the honeysuckle but something that smells a lot like baby powder. Disappointing.
