BPAL will be closed from 2/18-2/25.

Have a wonderful holiday - you enjoy it! I've managed to convert a friend to BPAL (one sniff and she was in love...) and as she doesn't have PayPal she's given me the money for her order. I'll send you a list of what she wants and wait for you to advise shipping costs to the UK. I won't expect a reply until you are home! Have an enjoyable break! lots of love Rosie XXX

    News about forums

Thank you both, SlythWitch and ShriekingViolet for giving me such a wonderful place to feed my growing BPAL addiction. If ever you do need funds to keep the forums open, just let me know and I'd be more than happy to help. Rosie
  5. Thanks for the link, Quantum Spice. There's a large ecclesiastical suppliers in London quite near a theatre shop I visit quite often - next time I'm in town I'll pop in there for a look around. I absolutely ADORE Cathedral - I'm ekeing out my Imp's Ear and I've got some more on order, but it made me think of a sandalwood pencil case filled with cedarwood pencils rather than church-y incense. I'm not Catholic (C of E) but as I was in the church choir from age 7 to 11. As I was the smallest person in the choir whenever we processed around the church my place was immediately behind the verger who was swinging the censer, so I used to regularly get a good nose-full of that wonderful smoke - I'd love some to burn in my home!
  6. Does anyone know what the stuff is that they actually swing around in church? That particular resin (or blend of resins) is particularly 'wow' and I'd dearly love to buy that in a bottle....

    Spellbound

I really love Spellbound. It brings back such wonderful memories - all those hippy-shops I used to browse in during my mis-spent youth .... A beautifully warm, rich almost spicy floral that lasted all day long - and was much admired during the day. I'll definitely be buying a larger size of this ....

    Site update.

Oh wow! Elizabeth, you are a marvel ...even more to choose from! Now I've got all the fun of agonising over all the new descriptions .... aargh! This is torture, but I love it! I'll be introducing some friends to the delights of BPAL next week - I expect they will all be as hopelessly smitten as I am ...... Rosie (who has just tried out some Naiad on husband's beard and thinks it smells rather fetching on him - now I've got to persuade him that he REALLY wants to wear something called 'Naiad!' )

    Cathedral

When I was a kid I had one of those sandalwood pencil boxes - you know the kind, with a sliding lid. Cathedral to me smells EXACTLY like that pencil box - comlete with the cedarwood of the pencils, and even the slightly peppery smell of the graphite pencil-leads! I've always wanted to have that smell bottled - thank you, Elizabeth, I adore it!

    Tamora

I had decided to use a quick going-over with my LUSH Fever massage bar as my moisuriser this morning, and I'm so glad that I did, as it complimented Tamora perfectly, surrounding me with a wonderful fragrance all day. Tamora is a beautifully rounded, warm, vanilla-y floral perfume - almost a 'golden' smell - probably the heliotrope. I found it most comfortable to wear and it was greatly admired in the office. It has faded to a soft sandalwood by now (early evening) but is still very lovely.
  11. I used my Fever bar as an all-over moisturiser this morning, and I've found it compliments Tamora very well - again it's not a scent match, but they do smell nice together (several people have already said 'ooh - you smell nice!)
  12. I've just slathered my hair in Arabian Bright, and was just musing what a wonderful smell that stuff has - I just can't stop sniffing my hands! Is there a BPAL scent anything like it? According to the label on the tub, as well as the henna (I can identify that note for starters!) it also contains 'Frankincense, Vanilla and Perfume.' I know that the folks at Lush tend to just use the generic term 'perfume' in order to prevent their products being copied, but it doesn't help me to match the scent! Can anyone help?

    Snake Oil

The first of my samples that I've tried, and I am In Love. Snake Oil is TOTALLY beautiful, an exotic vanilla when wet, then drying down (on me) to a woody, smoky-sweet smell slightly reminiscent of hippy-shops or (as my husband put it so well) 'the morning after one of those wonderful all-night parties in the late sixties/early seventies - the kind of perfume the girls were all wearing.' there was one faint smell that reminded me SO much of a smell from my childhood and mid-afternoon it hit me - I was getting a very faint aroma of Pear's Soap (a smell I absolutely LOVE). Two colleagues tried Snake Oil on their wrists too, and it smelled totally different on each person, although each outcome was beautiful in it's own way. So IMO this is definitely one that reacts with your skin chemistry. A truly beautiful scent - I'll be purchasing more of this!
