  1. Has anyone come across some sort of thin glass sticks anywhere? Along the lines of the glass wandcap wands, but longer (and without the cap part)? I keep thinking they'd work great as a reusable applicator that could be cleaned with alcohol. The closest I've seen so far were glass drink stirrers, but they were way too thick.

    Like this? https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01L6S9E7E/?coliid=I3B3K0OIONB4MF&colid=2QD857VD45P60&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

Haven't tried them, but I bookmarked them awhile back.

  2. In the imp: Bitter, bitter woods.

Wet on skin: Well it's more acidic than bitter. Not so bad.

Dried down: As it dries, the woods come out more, it's a little drier, more incensy.

Throw: CThere's a little bi of throw to this

Verdict: *** Not bad at all, but I really just don't see myself reaching for this very often.

  3. In the imp: Mmmmm..... mint and green tea

Wet on skin: Mint.... and...the green tea is kind of turning into rubber now.

Dried down: Cool mint, with a warm background of rosewood and green mate.

Throw: I don't get any throw from this until I get close to my arm.

Verdict: **** This is very nice, but I'm no sure if I want a bottle or not. I just don't think I would reach for it very often.

  4. In the imp: Sweet dusty spices. t makes me think of a sweeter version of cherezade or Morocco.

Wet on skin: About the same.

Dried down: Mmmmmm.......... leather and myrrh. This is pretty awesome.

Throw: I'm getting a little bit of throw from this. It's nice. Leathery.

Verdict: ***** Yay! Another happy scent for me!!

  5. In the imp: Getting the grape and vetiver here.

Wet on skin: Same - grape and vetiver. With the teensiest bit of mint.

Dried down: Eh, this is mostly vetiver on me right now,

Throw: Not getting much throw of of this one. I am getting little whiffs of grape from time to time, which is nice.

Verdict: ** Yeah, I don't think this one's for me.

  6. In the imp: Ooh, this i pretty. Sweet and incensey. Dusty cinnamon and patchouli.

Wet on skin: Still dusty cinnamon. It's going to the almonds right now and frankincense yet. This is pleasant.

Dried down: Almonds spiced by cinnamon and a hint of frankincense.

    Throw: Tiny bit, not much.

Verdict: **** 1/* I think I'm going to go ahead and get a bottle of this. I'm not completely in lov, but I think that might have to do with the number of scents I'm trying on now.

  7. In the imp: Ok, this one's just weird. "Amorphous" fits it perfectly. Salty and aquatic and sweet and melony at the same time. But not blended. They're disparate.

Wet on skin: Still a little aquatic - probably the green musk. I'm getting the benzoin and vetiver right now.

Dried down: The vetiver blends nicely with the green musk and veggies here.

Throw: There's a little throw here, mostly the cucumber for that sweet aquatic.

Verdict: **** This is nice, but I think I'll be satisfied with my decant for awhile.

  8. In the imp: Vanilla softened by frankincense. This is pretty. This reminds me almost of coconut, but not quite.

Wet on skin: Ooh. Vanilla, softened and edged by woods.

Dried down: Oh, this is gorgeous.

Throw: Soft vanilla floating around my head.

Verdict: ***** This is the first one I've loved out of the plagues, and of course, it's out of stock. I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

  9. I was curious about this one.

In the imp: Aquatic, with jasmine sambac, and something else. I think it's the "celestial fire," but I can't quite tell what it is.

Wet on skin: Still the same Mainly aquatic, with a hint of floral, and something fiery. That might be mint. Like a peppermint. Or a very sharp frankincense. Actually, that might be.

Dried down: Same. Aquatics with a hint of jasmine.

    Throw: Almost none on me.

Verdict: *** 1/* I don't know if this one is for me yet, but I think I want to hold on to it for awhile longer. I think I need to try this again.

  10. In the imp: Cherry and incense. I'm enjoying that combination more than I thought I would.

Wet on skin: Primarily the wood and incense.

Dried down: Wood and incense. I like it, but I'm missing that cherry I was getting from the decant. Never thought I'd be saying that.

Throw: Not much. Maybe it'll grow over time.

Verdict: *** I'm not sure this one is for me, yet. Perhaps I'll change my mind if he cherry comes back, but I have other incense scents that I would reach for over this.

  11. In the imp: Interesting - there's no notes I would consider minty or camphorous in this, but i'm getting a sort of wintry mint The cardamom, I believe, along with a heavy dose of vetiver.

Wet on skin: The vanilla mixes with cardamom, and smells rather beautiful.

Dried down: This is pretty much the vetiver now. Not bad, but not something I really need.

Throw: Nope, not really getting much at all. What little I get is the cardamom passing itself off as mint

Verdict: *** Not bad, but nothing that really catches my attention.

  12. In the imp: Sweet sweetness.

Wet on skin: Coconut and honey. This is really pretty. There's a little bit of spice, I think from the saffron (I'm not really used to thinking of saffron as spicy, but i don't think it's the coconut or honey).

    Dried down: Soft coconut.

Throw: This one is wearing really close to my skin. I'm not getting much throw from it.

Verdict: **** I have a bottle, and I think I'm going to enjoy this one. I'm considering a backup bottle, but this Luper update is heavy on the coconut, which makes me happy, which makes me want to buy far more bottles than are good for me. ::sigh::

  13. In the imp: Peach, darkened by.... the sandalwood?

Wet on skin: Same on my skin. The peach is juicy, but something is taking it into melon territory.

Dried down: Still a bit melony for me. I'm kind of wishing I was getting more of the tea and sandalwood and champaca right now, and less melon.

Throw: There is a little bit of champaca coming out in here. It's gorgeous, but I'm just not getting enough.

Verdict: *** Nice, but I don't think this one's for me.

  14. In the imp: Lots of sweetness with a little bit of a bite.

Wet on skin: A little cacophonous, but I like every note that's coming out. Coconut, vanilla, frankincense, patchouli, tinged with lemongrass.

Dried down: The frankincense and patchouli is trying to take over here. As it sits on my skin, though, it morphs into this soft sweetness. The coconut and vanilla star here.

    Throw: Soft and sweet.

Verdict: **** I'm actually not entirely sure how I feel about this one, but I want a bottle. I REALLy want to see how this ages.

  15. In the imp: Green tea with a hint of sweetness.

Wet on skin: A lot of tea, a little bit of sweetness, aaand.... more than a hint of rubber. What is the note that keeps turning to rubber on me?

Dried down: Green tea and rubber. :( I keep thinking the rubber has disappeared, and then I get it again.

    Throw: Not much on me

Verdict: ** ::sigh:: I was hoping for more from this one. Then again, I guess that's good for my wallet.

  16. In the imp: Lots of gorgeous jasmine, not the sweet kind. There's an undercurrent of something stinky, though. Like there was narcissus/daffodil in here (those notes tend to go BAD on my skin).

Wet on skin: This is.... kind of bitter on me. But at least I'm not getting that narcissus stink anymore. No, no, wait, there it is. It's like my beloved green tea gone horribly wrong.

Dried down: Ok, this is nice now. Just smooth jasmine. It's understated, though. I'm not exactly sure of the notes, but I feel as though the mother of pearl and bamboo silk softens it.

Throw: Not getting much throw at all off of this.

Verdict: *** Nice, but this just doesn't feel special enough for me to keep sniffing.

  17. In the imp: Sweet and incensey with a touch of bitter off the leather.

Wet on skin: A little less sweet, but still incense and leather.

Dried down: Mmmm...... this is sexy, animalistic. Patch and labdanum and leather. I kind of wish I was getting a little more of that honeyed saffron and vanilla right now, but I'm still loving this.

Throw: This has some serious throw on me. The patch just wafts up to my nose.

Verdict: ***** I think I'm going to want me a couple of bottles of this.

  18. In the imp: Well, lemon and pear.

Wet on skin: Still lemon and pear. This is kind of disparate, like the lemon and pear sitting alone in the fruit bowl.... and struggling not to roll together.

Dried down: Ok, blending together a little more. It's interesting. The longer I wear it, I smell more lemon closer to my skin, and more pear a bit further away.

Throw: Very light on me. Pretty much all pear.

Verdict: *** This isn't bad, but it's just not for me. like both the notes, but they're not really blending together well for me.

  19. So looking forward to trying this out, with all the lotus.

In the imp: Almost sweet. I'm actually getting more of the blackcurrant than the floral, though.

Wet on skin: Well, I'm getting a little more of a melon scent off of this now. There is a bit of the floral coming through.

Dried down: Still a little melon-y. And also a little tart. That's weird.

Throw: Not getting much right now.

Verdict: ** 1/* Sigh. I'm starting to think I'm more in love with the concept of lotus than the actual scent. I'll probably keep trying, though.

  20. In the imp: Flowers and vetiver.

Wet on skin: On my skin, I'm primarily getting the plum blossom with a beautiful whiff of sandalwood. The tuberose is giving the floral edge a little extra sweetness.

Dried down: Same as before, but.... these notes aren't blending well together for me. The plum and tuberose is a little bit cacophonous, like one note just slightly out of tune. The sandalwood is still barely there inthe background, and I get an occasional, beautiful whiff, but... I feel like it's not enough. I kind of wish that whiff of sandalwood was accompanying the Comparison of Celebrated Beauties on my left wrist, because the combination, when I get that, is freaking divine.

Throw: A bit. I don't have to sniff my wrist to smell it, and it's nice. Especially the sandalwood.

Verdict: *** 1/* I like the notes, and the fact that the vetiver doesn't take over entirely. But together, they're just not doing it for me.

  21. In the imp: Sweet cherry and almond. Normally, I'm not a huge fan of cherry, but I think the vanilla is smoothing this out and sweetening it up enough that I want to keep sniffing it. It's like a surprisingly delicious cherry-almond ice cream.

Wet on skin: Heavier on the cherry on my skin. I liked it better in the imp, actually. We'll see how this develops.

Dried down: Hmmm, it's gone a little powdery on me, but it's... kind of a special powder. There's still a bit of that cherry fruitiness in it.

Throw: Very little throw on me. But that little bit I get is sweet and creamy. This is pretty.

Verdict: **** I really like this. More than I was expecting, actually. I may need to get a bottle of this.

  22. You know, I'm still not exactly sure what chypre is.

In the imp: A floral tea tinged with bitterness. ::sigh:: I may not know what chypre is, but I think everything I've tried with it has been kind of bitter.

Wet on skin: Same as in the imp.I can see where the tea, the rose, the sandalwood and the champaca come in, and they blend nicely together. But then the chypre makes it bitter.

Dried down: Ok, as it dries down, it loses the bitterness a bit. Also, this one is definitely taking its time to sink into my skin. I do like the scent it's ending up with, though.

Throw: Not much on me, but I might not be waiting long enough.

Verdict: *** 1/* This is nice - I love pretty much all the notes in it (except maybe chypre), but this just isn't doing it for me. At least not tonight. I think I'm going to hang on to the decant and give it another try later, but I don't think I need a bottle. Hopefully I won't have to change my mind and hunt one down later.

  23. In the imp: Mostly the black amber, I think. with a hint of bitterness.

Wet on skin: This has an almost floral quality to it. A very dark floral. So apparently, that's the cistus's (rockrose) turn to shine? Except in this case, it's rockrose wearing a black veil.

Dried down: As it sits on my skin, a slight sweetness starts to appear. It's VERY slight, though. But it does mellow the floral into something a little bit softer.

Throw: Not really much on me.

Verdict: *** 1/* I like this, but I'm not sure if I like it enough. I'm also beginning to feel the slight stirrings of a headache, and I'm not sure if it's perfume or food related. I'll hang on to the decant for awhile and give it another try.

  24. In the imp: Sweet fig and vetiver. Both very distinct.

Wet on skin: Same. I don't know if I'd have identified the fig without knowing it was there, but that's definitely vetiver darkening it.

Dried down: Ok, the fig and vetiver are blending together a lot better now. I still smell both parts, but they smell like they belong together now.

Throw: I get almost nothing unless the scent is a few inches away from my skin. What I do get is vetiver.

Verdict: *** This isn't bad, but I don't think this is for me. A little too much vetiver for my tastes.
