    New Orleans

This works SO well on me. At first the lemon and spices clashed with the flowers, giving off some odd dirty-type smell. Then after 10 minutes, the flowers bloom. I know when I love a blend when I want to run out and seek every BPAL with those notes in it. Right now I'm tempted to look up scents with honeysuckle and jasmine and buy them all. I swear there's some magnolia in this as well, even though it's not listed. I might get a bottle because it's so heady and beautiful. Honeysuckle and jasmine are very tropical smelling flowers to me. There's nothing delicate about them, they're big, bold and they make a statement. They're very sweet smelling as well, and I'm a sucker for anything sweet. The throw is moderate, not too strong. It makes me want to visit the south.

    Sacred Whore of Babylon

I don't feel very much like a whore. I feel like a sexy lady that smells like spicy gardenia. Gardenia and spiced cinnamon, specifically. This is a very nice scent! Hours later, my inner wrists smell the same, but my inner elbows smell like sea salt. Like I've just been back from the beach. very interesting. I'm gonna keep the imp, but I'm waffling over whether I need a bottle or not. Moderate throw and lonnnnnng wearlength.

    Golden Priapus

How good is Golden Priapus? It's so good that it can make a scent that's essentially "male-sounding"(The name which basically means Golden penis, and masculine notes such as pine) and smell utterly divine on me. The vanilla and pine and juniper add up to a more herbal Snake Oil. I don't know how woodsy scents can work so well with vanilla, but on me they do! It's warm and herbaly all at once. I think I want a bottle of this.

    Croquet

The fruits in Croquet smell so tropical, I almost mistook my imp for a pina colada. The nectarines and pear and other assorted fruits smell so sunny and fresh I feel like I applied a fruit smoothie to my skin. I love the effects enough to get a bottle! Throw is moderate. After a few hours, the woodsiness of the patchouli comes out, but it's not a dark dank patchouli. it's light and it grounds the notes, keeping this from becoming an all fruit-all the time scent. Delisssssh.

    Persephone

The rose is a little stronger than pomegranate on my skin. The juiciness of the pomegranate lends the rose a fresh, dewly wet scent. It's quite pretty. There's almost no throw though. I like it, but I'll be satisfied with just an imp, as I have so many other rose scents.

    Water of Notre Dame

What a good choice for a calming scent. This does feel like I applyed purifying water to my skin-- albiet floral perfumed water. I've beeen in a horrible mood for the last day, but this seems to be doing the trick. I think I'll keep my imp around for calming purposes.

    Thalia

It smells almost tropical on me. Bright, sparkly pear with champagne and a hint of plumeria. It's a beautiful scent, and very uplifting as well. I might get a big bottle, it smells so good on me. Throw is moderate, but staying power lasts all day.

    Rozpustnica

Blue and white musks, moonflower, rose, magnolia, lemon verbena, and lychee. I was all set to love this one on the strenght of one of my all time favorite notes: lychee. Unfortunatley it didn't turn out that way on me. At first I get a big blast of lemon verbena and lychee...so far so good, then the lychee quickly dissapears and the other notes are snuffed out completely. Then it's all sharp, astringent lemon verbena. It clashes on my skin. After a few hours the verbena calms down and it's a dusky rose. The musks must've smoothed out the lemon and brought out the rose, but I'm unimpressed. I have other scents for rose, so I'll have to let this one go. Thank goodness I got to sample this at Le Pink before I bought it.

    Tanin'iver

I smell like decadent cinnamon and sweet dragon's blood. This stuff is teh yummy! I definitley want a bottle after smelling it wafting sweetly off my body all day. It's foody and delicous. I get whiffs of red musk as it dries, but no smoke. It's keeping me warm and snug on this cold rainy day. Great throw and staying power as well. This is a very "red" scent to me. It's making me crave a cinnamon roll!

    Katharina

The apricot is really fresh and bright in this blend. I can barely smell the orange blossom, and the musk acts as a grounding element. It's soooo delicous, the only complaint I have is that it has almost no throw. And I slathered. Fruit lovers should jump all over this, especially if you like Fae. I might get a bottle, if only it had more throw on me.

    Lilith

This is very rich and sultry on my skin. It's mostly wine and black musk. I get a whiff of roses just behind that, but they are very pale, almost delicate. Soft pink roses floating in wine, is the image that comes into my head. This is very much a dinner by candlelight sort of scent. I do like it alot, but I think my imp will be enough. It is too rich to wear all the time, sort of like drinking wine too much. Fans of excessive decadent scents will like this very much.

    Dragon's Eye

The lilac and lily of the valley are rich and heady, making this a very floral scent. It's like having a big floral boquet stuffed in your face. The dragons' blood is more a of a background note, or a grounding note. I can smell the sweet cherry-like resin, but it doesn't stand out against the strong florals. I love the smell of lilacs, so I dig this alot, but others who aren't very keen on the smell should steer clear of this. I'll keep the imp. Light to minimal throw.

    Nosferatu

ANOTHER dirt scent that works on me? Heavens to Betsey. The dirt smells dry, and a little like dry leaves than moist wet earth. There is some very light wine in here, but it's not a boozy smell. It's sweet and light. I get the herbs and dirt mostly, and it is very light and pretty on me. Light throw. I love it when I blends I think I won't like suprise me. I'll keep the imp fo' sho.

    Lightning

This definitely smells like ozone. I wonder what beth uses to get that scent! I also get a very salty smell, a sea-like scent. Very light and aquatic, I like this one alot, but an imp will be all I need.

    The Ecstacy of St. Theresa

These blends are always so much lighter than I expect! All those flowers and incense notes made me think this was going to be heavy and woody. Suprise! It's a pale creamy floral, with the iris and gardenia coming out light and sweet on my skin. The incense is very subdued here as well. I feel like I've put flowers on the alter at a catholic church. Very bright, kind of like the golden light in the painting. I liked this one more than I expected to. The throw is moderate and not intrusive. I really really like this.

    La Mort Qui Danse

Whaddup, black pepper?! I'm suprised that I like this so much. I expected the pepper to be dry and sneezy, but this is a pleasant suprise. I have a pink pepper tree near my backyard, and this smells kind of like that. Sweet, slightly flowery pepper. Definitely bright and happy-feeling. I can't distinguish between calla lily and lilly of the valley, but it's not soapy and domineering. The ginger gives this a slight bite. It compliments the pepper very well. This is a very energizing blend. It's the equivalent of a strong coffee in the morning. This is perking me right up.

    The Great He-Goat

Well I'll be damned. This is the first vetiver-heavy blend that has actually worked on me. It's not single note vetiver on my skin for once. I could smell it the whole time it was on my skin, but it was generous enough to let other notes have the spotlight too. This is a very dark blend, with a slightly oil feel from the black musk. My skin chemistry automatically sweetens up every note, so the vetiver comes out less earthy and more sweet on me. The black patchouli is quite faint, but it anchors the rest of the notes, giving this a slightly earthy, antique feel. I don't get any carnation, but then I didn't expect to. Near the end of the day, I can catch a whiff of pomegranate. It's really unique. The throw is moderate, and it lasts all day long. If you're scared of vetiver, this might be the blend to change your mind. But apply lightly, this one is pretty potent, and a little will go a long way.

    The Cup of Death

Peachy keen! This is peach softened with the rose and lavender. It makes the peach very warm, almost fuzzy. This isn't really a fruity-floral, it's a little too dry for that. It's really pleasant though. The throw is moderate, then fades fast. I like this alot.

    Les Anges Déchus

The word "soapy" comes to mind when I apply this. Strong ivory soap, the last thing I want to smell like. Then it mellow out, as most of these do, and it becomes a subdued floral with something herb-like in the background, which I think is the khus. Khus smells a lot like vetiver, I think its a variant of vetiver, actually. A teensy bit smoky as well. I don't have a clue what "life everlasting" is, but this smells very solemn. A blend for a quiet contemplative evening. It's nice now that it's mellowed out, but I don't think I'll need more than an imp of this.

    Cupid Complaining to Venus

Mmm, this is delicious! Peach and fig are two notes that just bloom on my skin, and these two work together to make this juicy ripe fruit scent, although it is tempered by the apple blossom and sandalwood. Later in the day the honey comes out, and it is just golden and fruity richness. This could turn out to be one of my favorites in the Salon. I love this, and will get a bottle after my imp is gone.

    Judith Victorious

Honey and chesnuts. My first impression of this scent was nuts dipped in honey. I looked up the notes, and was suprised to see the nuts were chesnut blossoms, but the flower smells like the actual nut! Odd. The lily of the valley adds a soft floral note to this, and the golden musk makes this scent warm and very "skin-scent" like. This is in the same vein as Le Petit Mort or Les Bijoux, which I love dearly. The mandarin lends this scent a subtle edge of fruit, but it's more of a background note. I like this alot!

    Grog

Butterscotch, with a bit of, I swear-sandalwood in this blend. It is interesting to have a woody-sweet combo. I wasn't sure if this was going to work at first, but it settles into something sweet, but tempered by the wood. I'm not sure if my skin chemistry is just being weird, but it worked well for me! I like it. Medium throw and average wearlength.

    Lot and His Daughters

First impressions: majorly citrus, the lemon peel and tangerine jump right out at you. Underneath I can smell the slightly earthy patchouli, which smells dirtier than usual to me, probably the influence of the other notes. The incense makes this slightly dirty and spicy, so far it's....interesting, but not something I want to wear. I'll wait an hour or two and see what happens next. Hours later, it's much nicer. Incensey and patchouli, with a hint of geranium. I like it, but I'm not completely won over. I'm not sure if I will swap it or keep it. It still feels a little too dark and oily to me. It makes me feel kinda unclean, but not in the fun way. It makes me feel like I need a hot shower. In a very appropriate way, this evokes the painting. Both the painting and the scent make me feel dirty and inappropriate. Intriguing, but not what I look for in a scent.

    Three Gorgons

Interesting. This is a very peppery blend, and with the fruit and amber, makes it utterly unique, unlike anything else I have sniffed before. it's very light, with almost no throw. Amazingly, I don't smell the vetiver at all! It must be grounding the rest of the notes, but it can't be smelled, which I am grateful for as it is one of my least favorite notes. This is soft and comforting, but the pepper gives it an engergizing kick as well. It's softly fruity and a teensy bit musky. I like it, I just wish it had more throw and staying power. It fades rather fast as well.
  25. At first sniff, this is weirdly almond and metallic at first. I don't like it, but wait it out to see if it'll morph. And it does, it smells like sweet woods and floral. The dragon's blood has lost it's metallic edge and sweetened up the blend, like it usually does for me. It smells even better with my nose away from my wrist, although I'm not sure why. This scent feels very red to me, like a ancient mahogany color. It feels grand, somehow. I like it, but my imp will be enough for me.
