    The Sea Rat

Woo hoo, an aquatic I can wear. Ok, so it's not terribly aquatic, but it still smells nice and the scent has both a subtle throw and a long duration on me. Bottle: Watery and spicy. Somebody's dad's cologne? Wet: Musk and aquatic. Dry: Musk, spice and the slightest hint of aquatic. Bought the bottle for art (which is awesome, BTW) and the name. But am definitely keeping and wearing this as a nice, quiet scent.

    Rat

Oh, drat. I really wanted to love Rat, but I bought it knowing woods are no good for me. I'm a rodentaphile, so this and Sea Rat got ordered despite my misgivings. In Bottle: Sharp and dry. A little too astringent for my tastes. Wet: Wood- which always goes horribly sharp and rancid on me, backed with Vetiver which likes to go Ammonia. I'd definitely swap this one if I didn't need to keep the bottle for the rattie artwork.

    Jazz Funeral

In the bottle: Dirt and moss. It reminded me exactly why I hate gardening. Wet: Oh dear, please let that dirt go away and that slight floral come out. Dry: Magnolia first, then bourbon. Wonderful and cheery. A great scent. I haven't done well with any of the other rum scents, but here the bourbon dominates and smacks it into shape. Mostly, this just smells fun. It's going on my to-buy list.

    Manila

Got this as a frImp and it's not one I would have chosen. But I gave it a try and I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. In the bottle and wet, it smelled green and lush with hints of coconut- or at least the coconut scent they put in sunscreen. Within a few minutes on, I smelled like one of the surf shops. It was a very warm and almost humid scent. Very nice and perfect for hiding from winter. But I think it might be one that makes me sneeze, so it will go in the oil burner instead of on the skin.

    Tintagel

I have to say, this one went from 'what was I thinking?' to become one of my favorite scents. My first whiff of it was insulin sweet, so I wasn't even going to try it. But it was such an interesting looking little vial with its blood red from the dragon's blood resin. So I did a test patch. Good choice. I'm now wearing it more than any other scent. In the Bottle: Coff, coff. Boy is that sweet. Wet: Cherry coke? But the drydown: Spicy, woody and the sweetness is a nice note in the background, keeping the scent from being too sharp. It's a little outdoorsy and a little yuletide, but mostly it's just cheerful. Very appropriate for this time of year (November) but I can see wearing it year round. I like it that much.
