2007 version- This is really lovely, it actually reminds me strongly of Lush's Olive Branch on the top, with a deep golden note in the middle which I presume is the beeswax and amber, and deep dark seedy fruit (fig and pomegranate I'm guessing) way underneath.

what is ruining these scents for me?

I think I had a similar reaction to Jacob's Ladder yesterday. I liked the throw of it, but sniffing it up close was too strong and it made me feel sick. There was a similar note in it to the rosin I used to use for my violin bow, which again was OK at a distance but I couldn't stand it close up either.

Chaos Theory IV: Edge of Chaos

I think it's C, I can't see the number on the label but that's what the person who sold it to me said it is: Wet-candied apples, Dry down-less sweet, more like an apple pudding without spices, 2 hours later-it keeps going back and forth between fainter apples and roses, and now it's settled into a combo of the 2.

Wet - I got juicy peaches too, but all my partner could smell was jasmine. Drying - I'm getting sweet olive as well, similar to Lush's Olive Branch scent, with a green aquatic underneath. I only put on the smallest amount from the top of the bottle and I can still smell it without needing to have my nose near my arm.

    Venus

I get strong florals (roses, etc.) and sunscreen from my well-aged bottle. It makes me flashback to washing my hands at the beach last time we went. I don't like it much, but I think I know someone who will .

I have never smelt red patchouli before, so my first thought when I put some of this one on was jasmine and of course orange! Love the smell 1 hour later: cinnamon and nutmeg and orange. Very spicy and warm. 2 hours later: still spicy, but a lot less orange.
