    Ivanushka

Mmm, I think I like this. Powdery in feel, with a light sweetness and a yes, very forest-like without any leafy or dirt notes. I would love this just for the sheer artistry, the story, and the precious deer on the label.

Cake, cookies, donuts, baked goods, even Cinnabon

Tokyo Stomp is dead on for that scent. It's an LE but I'm sure you can find some in the Swaps/Sales threads or on eBay. In the GC, of what I've tried I'd recommend Penthus for mintyness, and maybe layer it with something chocolatey like Bliss.

    Ulalume

imp/wet: eee, leaves! Wet, murky, forest floor. Also, lily generally hates me. I am afraid... It does brighten up as it dries, and becomes sort of a grassy, lightly floral scent. Pretty, but still somehow a little ominous...the cedar and musk are threatening to carry everything away. I will have to try this one some more.

    Melpomene

Lavender when whet, but dry this is mostly orange blossom on me, with a hint of cypress underneath I think?

    Erato

Erato: la la laaaa! My skin: DIE! Yeah, so. Sweet pea is not my friend.

    Szepasszony

At first I get sort of a grassy, clean smell - and then the ozone-y aquatics come up and this smells a bit too cologne-y for my tastes. There is a brief period where I can smell the florals and everything is very balanced and lovely, but then my skin sucks it back into men's department territory, and not in a good way. Boo, chemistry!

    Polyhymnia

At first the lemon is very prominent, which I like, and it's very nice with an herbal undercurrent - I can't really identify rosemary and sage, but I'm guess that's them. Then something sort of unpleasant, that I think is probably myrrh being weird on me. Boo. In the drydown, it's all rowan bark with a bit of lemony-myrrhy weirdness. Sorry to say it's not good on me in the end.

    Zephyr

I love china musk, so Zephyr is very nice to my nose, and for a light scent it has a *ton* of throw. Definitely in my top twenty.

    Bewitched

Hmm, not for me I'm afraid. Berry notes are usually kind of meh on me. Oh well.

    Lucy's Kiss

Imp and wet: Oh, pretty! Could there be clove in this? But it dries and veers into, I don't know...bubble bath territory. Eh. Skin!

    Alone

Woo, cardamom! (I, too, thought it was cinnamon I smelled, but guess not.) I also get the patchouli and I think the sandalwood and a hint of the mandarin. The notes are sweating on me a bit too much, I'm afraid. Really interesting, but not for me.

    Phantom Queen

First I smell the apple blossom, and something a little powdery to my nose. This doesn't really work on me, though - it starts out pretty but my skin just leaves me with a powdery sort of mush.

    Mad Hatter

Whoa! Full on, brisk, furry mint! And I get a bit of the citron in the back of my throat.

    Mania

Imp: This smells a bit like Mme. Moriarity (red musk!) and Hollywood Babylon (strawberry!) Wet: Good throw, as I put it on my wrist and can smell it as I type. Up close I can pick up the grapefruit. Not sure about the white musk. Dry: Mostly red musk and grapefruit. Nice!

    Fruitcake

This is so delicious and I was *so* excited to find some in my last order. My skin takes the brandy and destroys it, though. D:

    Tintagel

The first time I smelled Tintagel, months and months ago, I thought it smelled vomitously sweet on me. I never gave it a fair try or review though, so I'll do that now. It is very sweet at first, mostly the mulled spicy wine, but after a moment I can smell the juniper/bayberry and the dragon's blood. This is actually pretty nice in the dry-down, a little spicy and smooth, and the dragon's blood is minor enough that it hasn't (yet) gone to mothballs! Glad I gave Tintagel a second chance.

    Bliss

Holy shit, this is good! Rich, creamy brownie batter right off the mixer.

    Midway

How interesting! (And I don't mean that in an "Oh. That's...interesting." sort of way!) I get cotton candy, but also something buttery and salty, which I think must be the funnel cakes and the saltwater taffy. Just like the description says - it's all there.

    The Snow Storm

ooh, I like this! Definitely a piney, foresty smell, no doubt about it. But also somehow creamy and smooth; not foody, but if Willy Wonka's candy room had a winter theme, this how the tall conifer trees would smell. The cedar is a wonderful, subdued backing note. To me cedar means a sauna, so it's a lovely contrast to the chill, cold feel of the other notes. Just lovely and really unique among fir type scents.

    Archangel Winter

The Unicorn in winter. This is how I imagined Snow White might smell... Really lovely and strangely soft...

    Green Phoenix

Tragically, I cannot pick out a single note in Green Phoenix, that is how well-blended this is and how gorgeously and completely my skin loves it. This is so beautiful, light, and fresh with a depth at the same time. I need a bottle!

    C. Auguste Dupin

Sadly, the leather note makes this unwearable for me - I don't get any lavender or lime, just hot car interior. But you leather-lovers out there will adore this, I'm sure!

    The Pit & The Pendulum

Sort of musty at first...and then...VEGEMITE!
  24. maribouquet

    The Tell-Tale Heart

Mmm, I like this! It reminds me of Midnight Kiss, but much darker and spicier, and without the oversweet wine note. The vetiver and DB seem to be behaving themselves...

    Lady MacBeth

Preconceptions: wine? berries? This probably won't work on me, which will be sad. imp: sweet and tart wet: I can smell I bit of the thyme dry: the wine has not killed this! but it's still kind of sour sweet on me.
