  1. This is one of my new favourites this year. This starts off with evergreen notes, but its not in-your-face pine cleaner at all, its softer and subtle with a hint of vanilla and a drop of mint. As it dries, Snow White peeks out briefly before it dries down to a lovely soft vanilla.

Snow White is my favourite BPAL of all time, and I love all these recent variants. :wub2:

  2. I think this is going to end up one of my favourite new Yules this year. Its warm, spicy, cozy, and Christmas-y to me. This openes up with candied orange peel and spicy cookies. It next settles into creamy, lightly spiced porridge. The clove comes out in the dry stage. :yum:

  3. Hello peppermint! This seems to be the strongest mint of the six Lick It scents so far. It also has lots of sugar, but not much vanilla. Thankfully, its lacking that weird metallic note I got from last year's Lick It Till its Sticky, and it doesn't have skin musk like Lick It Like You Mean It. Its closest to Lick It and Lick It Again but with extra mint. I love peppermint scents, so I love this so far!

  4. Snow White is my all-time favourite BPAL, I was so excited to see her in bath oil form this year.

As my tub was filling up this morning, I put in a tiny squirt of Snow White and it scented not only my bathroom, but my whole apartment! The scent lingered throughout the bath and even after I toweled off, I could still smell a hint of Snow White on my skin.

    Love! :wub2:

  5. I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this yet as its one of my favourite winter scents and I've loved it since it came out. This is a mix of tart green apple, a mint note that feels like a breath of cold air, and a gorgeous icy soft musk. I keep hoping that this will come back some day as my bottle is getting dangerously low.

  6. No description available.

I'm not familiar with this type of cookie, but its scent reminds me of a Lithuanian cookie my family gets for special occasions. This is a light cookie note (not buttery like Shortbread Snowflakes) with spices - lots of clove and maybe anise and ginger too? - and a touch of sweetness, like powdered sugar. The throw and wearlength is pretty decent too. If this came in large bottles, I'd buy quite a few, its that good! :yum:

  7. I'm surprised I haven't reviewed Lady Una as she's been one of my favourite GC scents since she debuted. Lady Una is also one of the very few blends with honey that I can wear. This scent is all about the vanilla bean, with a little blackberry in the wet stage, green tea in the dry stage, and the honey musk adding a sweet, slightly powdery base to tie everything together. This is a close-to-the-skin, feminine scent and hopefully she'll never disappear from the Stardust collection.

  8. I love rose, and am planning on ordering a few blends with this note...

I've tried a few rose blends from BPAL so far, but it was mostly white rose, which seems to work well on me, but it's a little too creamy...

I want something more lush, but not candy-like (Two, Five & Seven smells like pure candy on me).

I hate patchouli, amber and dislike white musk, so these are the "no-no" notes... leather is a note I'm not very fond of, and I'm not a fan of nutts nor almonds, or violets...

This are the GC blends I've selected so far, but I would like to narrow down to 5 scents... could someone help?

Jezebel, Zombi, Blood Countess, Lilith, Santa Muerte, Thanatos, Euphrosyne, Snooty Rose, Roses,Pearls & Diamonds and Blood Rose.

I love, love, love dragon blood, I like vanilla, vetiver, pine, moss, gardenia, orange blossom and incense...

I'd like to have different rose blends, not stuff that all smells the same...

Jezebel is mostly rose and orange blossom with a very sweet and heavy honey note.

Zombi is roses and dirt. This is one of my favourite rose scents.

Blood Countess's rose note isn't very prominent, this is stronger on the berries, plum, and gardenia. Since you like gardenia too this might be a good choice.

Euphrosyne was strongest on the jasmine and gardenia on me.

I didn't find Snooty Rose to be very rosey. The other notes were stronger.

Blood Rose has lots of dragon's blood and wine mixed in with the rose. If you're okay with wine, you might enjoy this one.

(I haven't tried the other rose scents you mentioned.)

  9. If this had been sold on its own, I probably wouldn't have purchased it because although I like drinking ale, its not something I'd want to smell like. This, however, smells like fizzy berry (raspberry perhaps?) soda! The fizziness reminds me both of Geek Goth and Polynesian Pop. There might be a drop of mint in here too. This is really good, a pleasant surprise for me. :)

  10. After almost two years of looking, I've finally gotten to try this! :joy: This is such a simple scents, lots of gorgeous vanilla and just a little licorice. The only unhappy thing about Humbug is that the throw is light and the staying power isn't too long, no more than a few hours. But I love it anyway. :wub2:

  11. BEAVER MOON 2010
Here we go with the double entendres again! Strawberry and peach cheesecake, heavy on the sticky glaze.

In the bottle, this smells very sugary, lots of peach, and not much cheesecake or strawberry. On my skin, its pretty much the same - sugary sweet peach and eventually sugary sweet strawberry-peach.

This is very different from the two previous Beaver Moons, which (to me) were heavier on the cheesecake/cream/vanilla notes. The peach note is sweeter than any other BPAL peach scent I've tried before.

ETA: After some aging, the cheesecake note does come out more during the drydown, although its not as prominent as the previous Beaver Moons. I think this might be my favourite of the three.

  12. This is a light fried-dough note with strawberry powdered sugar on top. To me, it smells like a cross between a lighter Zombie Apocalypse and Midway. And it does bring back memories of sweet pink cereals like Crunchberries and Frankenberry.

The throw is light, but this lasted quite a while on me. I had initially no interest in this scent as bakery scents are very hit or miss on me, and "pink sugar" made me think of that perfume, which I don't like. But after reading reviews, I decided to try it and its one of my favourite new Weenies this year.

  13. I love the scent of real marigolds, but BPAL's marigold is very hit or miss on me - either beautiful floral or very sour. Flor de Muero is, thankfully, the beautiful golden marigold note, but there's something else with it I can't figure out, soft and citrus-y like orange blossom. I sniff this and think of golden sunshine on orange autumn flowers, very beautiful.

  14. This is such an unusual scent, but it tells the story its based on quite well. It starts off with foresty juniper with light florals and a hint of buttery chestnut. It dries to a light musk with just a bit of floral. Its a soft, mysterious scent, and while not my favourite of the Literary Vampires, I'm glad I've tried this.

  15. This does remind me of Creepy, but without rum, and about a million times more caramel and a tarter green apple note. The apple fades out quick, the caramel stays rich until the drydown, when its more of a candied vanilla scent. I don't get butter or spice, and the candy corn is much subtler than in Trick or Treat.

This apple is very decadent and yummy and since I missed Sugar Slathered Candy Apple, I'm happy to have this one. :yum: The throw and wearlength are moderate, it lasts a few hours.

  16. This is a very straighforward scent, licorice/anise with cocoa when wet, more licorice in the midstage, and cocoa in the dry stage. I also swear I get a hint of cherry in the wet stage too. I'm glad I took a chance on this, because I quite like it, even if the wearlength is too short (just a few hours!) :vamp:
