    Morgause

Morgause is something I wanted to try due to my interest in Arthurian lore and luckily an Ebay seller gifted me with an imp of it recently. Wet, this is the night-blooming flowers, although I can only pick out two - jasmine and moonflower. As it dries, I get violet with a hint of wine and a very faint trace of incense. In my scent locket, however, its all wine, plum, and incense. This is gorgeous, very purple, and a fitting scent for the Queen of Air and Darkness. I really like it!

    Ice Queen

Ice Queen is my favourite of the snowy scents. She starts out snowy evergreens. A little musk comes out then the fruits join in on the drydown. This is such a feminine and lovely scent and its a little haughty and aloof as an Ice Queen should be.

    The Unicorn

I've been curious about this scent from the beginning (I love unicorns!) and the Lab read my mind and gifted me with a frimp in my last order. This is what it says, white floral notes and sweet green notes blended perfectly together. This is something I prefer when its fresh...aged Unicorn smells like bug repellent spray (or unicorn repellent perhaps?)

    Enraged Groundhog Musk

I had to purchase a bottle of this since I was born on Groundhog's Day and thankfully the notes appealed to me as well. This started out a little caramel and a LOT of cardamon. The cardamon tones down a little and I could smell vanilla. Then YIKES I got an itchy rash on my chest (but thankfully nowhere else I applied.) Enraged groundhog indeed! I like spicy scents, but the only one to do that to me before was Inferno. Thank goodness I have a little scent locket, where Mr. Groundhog smelled of caramel, cardamon, and cherries. I really do like the smell of Enraged Groundhog Musk but I guess I'll have to be careful with him in the future...and save up for one of those lovely big lockets at the Trading Post.

    Faith

Faith is just as described, sugarly fresh violets. She isn't as sweet as her twin however and fades just as quickly from my skin. I'm not as crazy about violet as I am rose, but I do like Faith. Hope and Faith also layer very well together.

    Hope

Hope is the sweetest rose ever sprinkled with sugar. It stays that way on my skin from beginning to end. This is one of my favourite rose scents I've tried thusfar. Sadly, Hope didn't last very long. I guess that means I'll have to buy a bottle so I can slather away!

    Eshe, A Vision of Life-In-Death (2006)

This is an interesting scent. It starts off sandalwood, myrrh, and herbs, then the florals join in. I can't pick out the individual floral notes. Eshe fades quickly to a faint herbal-floral scent. I don't get any dust, and although that is probably a good thing I was curious about what "tomb dust" would smell like in a perfume. Eshe is a pretty scent and I like it. I'll keep my decant but I don't see myself needing a bottle as I wouldn't wear it often. The artwork is one of my favourites in Act III. Both the picture and story remind me of the character of Cleopatra in Anne Rice's The Mummy.

    The Snow Maiden

Snow Maiden starts out frosty (less aquatic then other snow notes and no pine) with berries (cranberry maybe?) As it dries, the florals come forward. Snow Maiden was the perfect scent to wear while shoveling snow today. Its cool and crisp but underneath there is the promise of spring.

    Snow Bunny

This starts of snow and pine then the "girlie perfume" note joins in. Its a delicate, light floral and I can't pick out individual notes. Snow Bunny stays this way through the dry-down. The pine gives the softer notes a bit of an edge and keeps it from going too girlie and sweet. Snow Bunny is a lighthearted, fun scent, something I reach for often in winter weather. The label is also adorable!

    Twilight

Twilight starts off sweet lavender. As it dries down, the lavender tones down and the honeysuckle comes forward. I can smell a bit of jasmine in the background. I love all three of these floral notes and they are beautiful together in Twilight. Its one of my favourite General Catalogue blends.

    Glasgow

This starts off juicy, slightly tart blackberry. Then the heather joins in. As Glasgow dries down, its all heather. Its a lovely and delicate floral that vaguely reminds me of rose. I used to have a heather plant but I don't recall it smelling this nice! I really like Glasgow so I will probably be ordering a bottle in the near future.

    Pumpkin Queen

This starts out buttery pumpkin (like Jack, but not quite as buttery). The orange notes join in next and give the Queen a touch of sweet creaminess. I get a hint of amber in the drydown. Pumpkin Queen is my favourite Halloween scent and I'm hoping for its return this year.

    The Darkling Thrush

I adore all of the Lab's "snowy" scents that I've tried so far. Each is lovely and unique and The Darkling Thrush is no exception to that. Wet, its a snowy scent but without pine or other evergreens. As it dries, the violets begin to peek out from the snow. This makes me think of later winter/early spring in New England: one day its warm enough for early flowers to bloom, the next day a light snowfall covers everything. Beautiful.

    Thalassa, the Galapagos Mermaid

This is beautiful. Wet, its crisp ocean air with a bit of green from the seaweed notes. As it dries, I get a hint of floral from the jasmine. On me, its a very light scent with not much throw, but I love it anyway. Thalassa takes me back to memories of walking on the beaches of Cape Cod. I will be ordering a bottle of this soon.

    The Candy Butcher 2006

This starts off dark and rich chocolate. Yummy! The chocolate fades rather quickly* and a slightly-creamy floral comes up. The floral smells a bit like lily to me so I can see the Snow White comparison. Its a light scent and rather pretty but not one I'd grab a bottle of. *Bliss faded quickly on me too so I guess my skin doesn't like holding on to chocolate scents.

    Bakeneko

On me, this is spicy amber musk with just a hint of black tea. The lack of tangerine surprises me as my skin normally loves citrus. This is a warm and cozy scent which is perfect for today since there is a wild snowstorm out there.
