    Centzon Totochtin

As I was going through my imps (to make room for new imps), I came across Centzon Totochtin. It was a frimp and I had no idea when I took a sample sniff what the notes were, I just knew that it made an awesome first impression! Imp: Dark, dark cocoa and a gloriously rich floral note. Wet: The floral faded instantly but the the cocoa scent held beautifully. Dry down: There was a definite smokiness that was weird and intriguing. Not necessarily a scent I would have chosen to slather on, but I didn't hate it. After about an hour: Perfectly subdued red wine with a slight hint of the floral that hit me so hard from the imp. Verdict: It smells delicious and has lasted all day, but I can't imagine wearing it on a regular basis. It's not a very "me" scent, but I will definitely finish out the imp.

    Bearded Lady

In the bottle it's an almost perfect blend of florals. Once on my skin it has a definite soapy quality that eventually gives way to something more vanilla infused yet still distinctly floral. After a few hours, I had an image of an adrogynous young woman with a gorgeous, elaborate rose tattooed on her well-defined bicep. It's so beautifully feminine, yet there's strength behind it. I love Bearded Lady, and she loves me. Nice throw, and my boyfriend, sister, a waitress and a friend all commented on how great I smelled. I definitely wish I had more than just one bottle.

The Bow & Crown of Conquest

In the bottle: All leather and wood. It reminded me of a local artist's colony where most of the shops are in primitive log cabins. The leather goods shop smells like my initial impression of this. Although leather is not my thing, it's not too bad. Wet: Overpowering leather, the leather goods shop on a humid day. I'm not getting anything else out of this and it's making me slightly woozy. Dry: The vanilla is coming through a little, and the musk is creeping up on the leather note, but the leather is still the dominant scent. Verdict: Not for me. The good news is that my boyfriend loves it and it drys down exquisitely on him- the white musk and lavendar are stronger and it balances out the leather perfectly. This was a frimp and nothing I would have chosen for myself, but he wants me to order a bottle.
