    Knitting pictures and other pictures

I've been knitting a lot and I've got a pretty sizeable blog going here: Presence and also some pics of my house and stuff here: Home. Thanks people for your comments and sorry I wasn't able to respond invidually.

    Knitty Knits

And lo, what did I hear? That some were having trouble viewing Ye Olde Myspace. Hopefully that will be remedied here. I will be using this space to pimp my shit, and also to give updates on my travels, of which some are coming soon. Stay tuned. Anyway, this is to update everyone on my awesome knitting skills that have been developing as of late. I have no idea why, but I decided I wanted to learn to knit, and I have! Using many books from the library (not much help) and online resources (http://www.knittinghelp.com was MUCH help) I have done a few simple pieces. Imagine that! As I gain more skill, I may be putting up things for "auction" or commissioning pieces. I don't mean that I'll be charging you (my friends and family) for them. Just that when I make something I want to make sure it goes to someone who likes it and/or will use it. So I may make it available to many, and see who wants it most. And if you want something special (that I'm capable of) I'd be happy to knit it for you. Okay, enough blab. Onto the knits! The first thing I knitted was this scarf: Very chilly that day. Good thing I had the scarf! If anyone thinks it's cool, you can have it. Send me your address and merry christmas! My next wunnerful project was this baby blanket: It is roughly 2' x 3' though I'm not sure on those measurements. You can see the laptop in the background for scale. I sure hope it can wrap up a baby! I have a friend at work who will give birth ANY MINUTE and this was my "learning" piece. I really learned how to knit using this blanket. I have another pregnant friend who will be getting one of these in just a month or so, now that I know how to do it even better. I just hope it holds up in the washing machine! Apparently knitted items not done properly CAN in fact come unraveled. *crosses fingers* Here's some detail on that: Well, it's not very complicated, but it DOES have a border. Sweet. My hope is to be able to knit socks and sweaters one day. Even if I never gave you x-mas presents in the past, you may find some showing up on your door in the future. Please email me your favorite color, and if you're opposed to wearing knitted thong underwear. Happy knitting, Shiv

    Searching for the Perfect Vanilla?

Thanks for everyone's suggestion. I have been doing a lot of layering and I've really been liking Anne Bonny layered with Antique Lace. I can't layer snake oil with anne bonny because it somehow brings out the fishy smell. But I love snake oil layered with pretty much anything else. Antique lace is my other layering staple, between that and snake oil I can make pretty much anything smell how i want it to. Desire didn't smell like vanilla on me at all. But maybe I should try it again. Right now: Lilith and snake oil on my left arm, anne bonny and antique lace on my right.

    Malediction

I thought I liked vetiver. (vetivert?) Blood Kiss is my HG perfume, and I really like the dry down of All Night Long. I also like patchouli, esp the sweet kind, which from reviews it looked like red patchouli was. I waited with baited breath for this sure to be favorite blend. IT WAS: BBQ. SMOKE. MORE BBQ SMOKE. IN THE IMP. ON MY SKIN. WET. WHILE DRYING. DRY DOWN. ALL SMOKE AND BURNT FLESH. I smell no patchouli, no sweetness, all smoky, all bbq, all pork ribs, flames licking charred metal bars, my stepdad grinning with glee over the meat he had barbequed. NOTHING ELSE.

    Searching for the Perfect Vanilla?

That must be it! The imp is on it's way now. I suspect I will love it. I guess it doesn't say patchouli in the description but that's probably one of the "Exotic spices," huh? Now I'm even more excited to try snake oil.

    Searching for the Perfect Vanilla?

I've already done a search on the bpal website for patchouli, vanilla, and both together and I'm not really coming up with anything. I really want something that is not floral, is sweet, and with patchouli as a dominant note. I have this oil by "sun's eye" called sweet patchouli that approximates it. But now that I've tried bpal, i'd love to see beth's rendition of such a scent. If i find one doesn't exist, then i'll put this in the "requests" thread so maybe she'll come up with something. Thanks

    My Wishlist

I'm now in Alto, NM Wishlist 5mL Cathedral Dorian Dublin Embalming Fluid Samhain 06 Snake Oil IMPS Al Azif Anahata, Death Cap, Dublin, Eclipse, Euphrosyne, Luperci, Montressor, NEMESIS Snake Oil Sri Lanka, Terpsichore, The bow and the crown of conquest, Tombstone, Tzadikim Nistarim, Zephyr, Any TAL decants Chakra decants I like dark, sweet, heavy, resiny, incensy, some patchouli, creamy, vanilla, foody scents. I dislike florals, although when well blended, sometimes they're okay. See my "top ten" list for examples. Fruits are frequently doable. yay bpal! I am not so much into perfume anymore. I am WAY into knitting, so if you have yarn you want to swap for perfume, that would work well. I'm also in need of body cream, as I am freshly moved into a very dry environment. I also would consider swapping for bath products, like bubble bath, bath bombs, etc.

    Rapture

First, this is my FIRST bpal scent. Upon putting it on my wrists, I immediately smelled that "perfumey" scent, /and/ something familiar. After reading the reviews, I think it's because it smells similar to Anais Anais, which my mom wore when I was little. I like it for that reason, but don't like it for me. Something in it really bothered me, and when i looked at the description I saw it was jasmine. Jasmine gives me a headache and makes me feel weird. And it smells like departmentstore perfume, which i'm not into (except angel, go figure). Anyway, it kinda smells good, but overall bothers me. Might send it to my mom. (blood kiss was my second and i lOVE IT!)
