This bottle sat untouched in my bpal box for a very long time. Pretty much figured it'll be a dead weight since swapping and selling is nearly impossible now from where I am. Gotta say, it aged well. Used to be too green and bitter for me, now vanilla aspect is so much more prominent. It's still very gentle, but longevity is great. Wore it to bed, beautiful scent to wake up to.

Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?

Do we have any CG or (other) LE scents comparable to Laces? Black, Autumn, Red and Tattered Laces all work superbly for me and all have that same smoky vanilla burnt sugary note I love so much. Is there anything else similar? -
Thank you so much!

Hello ladies~! I recently(finally!) acquired two bottles of Black Lace and I'm wondering about the lable colours. How come one is black and the other one is green? Is one of these a resurrected edition? Both are vanilla version, although there is some difference in scent - black is little more bitter and uniform. Thank you!

Oh, so disappointing - Snake Charmer smells terrible on me. It dries to all the yummy Snake Oil spices - and a yucky sharp note that's ridiculously strong and overpowers everything else.

Skin musk, smoky vanilla, pine pitch, patchouli, Indian resins, golden honey, and tobacco. Patchouli always overwhelms everything else for me. I get no vanilla or tobacco, just - hippy pine. Also - veeeeeery light throw. Weird, considering the notes. Somewhere deep deep deep under I get a hint of Snake Oil spices. Might be my imagination...

Dissapointing - I think I've got a bottle of '07 version. All white flowers, not sweet at all - kinda salty actually. And it's the first BPAL oil to go to terrible plastic-y on me, just seconds after the drydown. Meh.

It smells...a lot like Ralph by RL to me. I get zero tobacco - very dissapointed. It's a pleasant scent for sure... but not what I imagined. Oh, and sweet sweet apple all the way.

I'm still very new to BPAL and never got the chance to try a loooot of scents. Burnt sugary tobacco is currently my absolute favourite BPAL note and I want more of it - in all the subtle varieties. I'm aware there're other topics about smoke/fire scents, but very few of the ones recommended there actually have that exact quality I'm looking for. And of course there's the fact that we all got different noses. Still, I would really appreciate suggestions, particularly LE ones. So, ones I found already: Santo Domingo (the one it all started with) Smokestack Interfector French Tobacco These four smell veeeeery alike to me - there's a slight variety, but the top tobacco note is one and the same. Then, Autumn Lace and Sugar Skull(07) - these are significantly different, of course, AL is very delicate and sweet, and Sugar Skull doesn't even have tobacco in the blend, but there's the burnt sugar note I also quite enjoy. Are there any scents like this?

Wow, it's truly remarkable how differently we all perceive scents. I tried both Antikythera Mechanism and Perversion, and the notes I get from these oils are nothing like tobacco. Antikythera Mechanism is all machine oil(kinda amazing, considering notes, but it smells so mechanical to my nose), and Perversion... something entirely unlike tobacco I can't even pinpoint. The Black Temple Burlesque Troupe is also veeeeeeeeeeery different to me. Thank you for the suggestions, I'll hunt for the rest of the scents.

I am also so very confused... After hearing how sought-after this scent is, I just had to get my hands on a decant... And now I did and it smells like Santo Domingo to me. Like, 98% Santo Domingo and 2% sweeter. Which is awesome because I love SD to bits, but seriously not what I expected...

Eat Me is pretty much sweeter, vanilla-heavy Snake Oil for me. Three hours into drydown, both smell the same. It's one of those scents I never tire of. One of my favourite.
