BPAL

  • Favorite Scents
I'm new to BPAL, but my favorites so far are Bliss and O. I'm a huge fan of smelling like food but warm, feminine, floral scents seem to work well on my skin. Honey does marvelous things on me.

    O

So far, I've been very frustrated with the way scents I adore in the bottle dry on my skin... but O actually managed to smell better on than in the bottle. It's definitely feminine and pretty, but there's a touch of sex there that's difficult to define or pinpoint. When it dried, it reminded me of sweat. Clean sweat from someone you're intensely attracted to. O is pheremones in a bottle! It's gorgeous and sexy and intimate and girly and, wow, I love it. I will definitely be buying a 10ml bottle of O.

    Lightning

I usually love clean, crisp scents like this... and in the bottle, this was divine. Right up my alley. But my body chemistry has the amazing ability to turn ANY SCENT into powder. So when this dried, it smelled like soap. Straight-up soap. Ivory soap. Smelling like soap is not necessarily a bad thing, but it's pretty disappointing that it morphed so drastically on my skin. I might use the rest of the Imp but I definitely won't be ordering a bottle of this. Shame, too, because I love the way it smells in the bottle. It is exactly as the site described it.

    Gluttony

I normally love food scents, but my initial impression was that Gluttony was WAY too buttery and heavy for me. But I decided to give it a whirl, hoping the butter would calm down and I'd be able to pick up on the chocolate. When I put it on, something bizarre happened. It didn't smell like food at all but... CIGAR SMOKE. Straight-up cigar smoke. And it didn't fade or morph. From the time it dried on my skin until I washed it off in the shower the next morning, I smelled like I'd spent a night playing poker with a bunch of cigar-smoking old men. It wasn't entirely unpleasant, but I wouldn't wear it again. I definitely won't be using this Imp.

    Embalming Fluid

From the description, I should have LOVED this one. When it was in the vial, I did. But when I put it on, it immediately turned into an overwhelming PERFUME. The kind I hate. The kind that makes me gag when I smell it. I couldn't make out the lemon at all. All I smelled was Bingo Night at the Ladies With Too Much Perfume On Legion Hall. I was so disappointed.
