  1. I ache for you. It's horrible-horrible-HORRIBLE when the conversation goes from "here are some problems..." to "then I guess it's over", and you wonder if you could have in any way avoided that outcome. Be gentle to yourself. My one and only piece of advice, as someone going through this as well, is not to make any promises re: fixing it or not, while you're both in insane shock mode. You can't know yet WHAT you need to do, so try to ride out the initial rollercoaster of emotions before doing anything permanent in either direction. It'll get a little less awful every day.

  2. Has anyone heard the Tori Amos cover of "Father Figure?" :D She kind of whispers her way through it. It can only be found on a 13-CD set called "Original Bootlegs," but I heard it on satellite radio a few times last spring. It's probably best for my mental health that I don't own it and can't listen to it all the time.

I watched that video again today after not seeing it in ages, I was struck by how George was just smokin' hot. And the actress/model is an '80's version of Bettie Page. And of course, the lyrics still drive me insane...

I know, the lack of insane '80s pouf hair really helps it not seem dated. :D He is just too hot for words. The first time he kisses her...Dayum.

Another that has held up well is I'll Be Watching You. So noir, with early, nummy Sting. :hugs:

The Tori cover is on You Tube--well, with a video someone else added, but you can ignore that and just hear the audio; just search the title and her name together. OMG, I need to find a way to capture the audio. *chills*

  3. Eek! :) I don't follow the blogs, but a friend was kind enough to PM me that she'd seen this, since everyone knows Brian and I are "real-live" friends with you guys. Please keep us updated on how Mr. Snark is doing! I wish I had some advice on how to get him to slow down, but, as a fellow Type-A person, I know how hard-headed we all are. (a friendly :pics: to all the overachievers, self included). Maybe this will be a wake-up call for him?

Argh, that must have been so scary for you. I'm glad he seems to be better. Feel free to PM any time.

    Hugs,

    Laurel
