  1. :P :D :D I'm in love!

Snow Angel is very true to its description. I can smell the creamy sweetness with a hint of fruity in the best way possible. The lemon and peach were stronger and a bit sharper when I first put this on, but now they've faded a bit and mellowed to round out the smooth creamy sweetness. The lemon did not go pledgey on me at all, which is nice. I really wish this weren't so rare so I could get a bottle.

  2. Yay, my first Salon blend!

When I first put this on, it smelled very soft and green.

After a few minutes, the powdery florals and sweet, musky sweetness came out. The lilac and the musk are both discernable, as well as something nice that reminds me of my grandmother (weeping cherry?). This blend doesn't strike me as being strongly Asian, even though I think there's a note in here that comes up in Hungry Ghost Moon (rice wine, I think it is) and so it reminds me of that, except more floral. Usually I'm not a floral person, but I do like lilac and, once again, I say this is very nice.

  3. Hey, I haven't reviewed this yet? This must be remedied!

I got a lovely sniffie of Ded Moroz with a purchase from Shelldoo, and nearly fainted of excitement when I saw it.

Ded Moroz is very warm and powdery, sweet but not sickeningly so, and golden. I didn't get any of the mint, it must have been a little too ethereal for my nose. Alas, it turned to somewhat of an "old lady perfume" smell on me, but I am ever so greatful for the chance to have tried it.

  4. I , along with many others, was really nervous about the Patchouli in this, hence why I hesitated so long to try it out. By some chance of fate I managed to score some (thanks Ah Xia!) and I am so happy I did! The Patchouli in this behaves the way I had hoped it would in Agony of Heartache. It disappears a few minutes after application, leaving a wonderful peachy-mandarin with just a hint of soft florals. This is very nice! So sweet and juicy, I may need to get more.

  5. Oh no.

I think what went wrong on with Pink Phoenix is the same thing that happened in O on me. They smell almost the same, only Pink Phoenix is better. It has to be the Vanilla/Honey interaction. Together, they go...well, I don't really know how to explain it. It's powder-ish, but also strong and sweet. Not terrible, but not wonderful either. As it dries down, it gets better, but it's still not what I was looking forward to. I can't detect any of the strawberry, sweet pea or pear (unless they are somehow adding to the mysterious skin-chemistry-ness). I think I'll try to find a decant of this.

  6. Mmm, this is nice! In the imp and when first applied, Delirium smelled like a fruity rose, a mostly lemony rose. The lemon wears off pretty quickly though, and then it's a nice mild rose. Rose with an edge of fruity sweetness.

  7. Mmm, this is really nice! I can smell the coconut, something sweet for a base- the caramel I'm guessing- and soft, perfumey spices, most likely the amber. The different notes are very well blended, and it's not all that easy to pick out the distinct scents. When I first applied this, I could smell a hint of something almost green, but I think it faded away. Very nice, I'm glad I have a decant of this!

  8. Mmm, I wish this wasn't so rare! The scent is pretty true to the description. On me, the blackberry is lighter than the cake, leaving me smelling vanilla-cakey with a hint of tart, fruity blackberry. The only thing I don't smell is the bourbon, although my nose is not as finely-tuned as some. This was a very light scent in the imp, but is considerably stronger when applied to the skin. I'm giving this an A+ and will attempt to hunt for a bottle.

  9. Wow, I've had this for about a year and haven't reviewed it yet!

I have MLI (1051). From the bottle, it's an unidentifiable floral, reminds me a bit of Ostara. I think lily is most likely one of the floral notes, if there is more than one. Upon application, it's fairly strong lily. But after a while...

...is that something sweet I smell, lurking beneath the lily? In the drydown, there smells like there is some cherry. Imagine it, a cherry and lily blend! I'm not a big fan of lily, but the drydown is quite nice (I loooove cherry, it was a nice surprise).

  10. The gardenia is strong with this one. I can smell a little vanilla and possibly the grapefruit in the background, but right now this is mostly gardenia. Vanilla-y gardenia, but if your skin amps gardenia it goes all gardenia. Gardenia.

ETA: Drydown is a very light vanilla, but all vanilla. If only the drydown were the initial scent!

Another edit: Okay, so maybe it isn't as much gardenia-y as I thought. I tried a tiny bit this time, and can really smell the grapefruit and jasmine coming through. It does remind me of Hungry Ghost Moon a little, but more florally.

  11. Yay, I finally got me a bottle of Hungry Ghost Moon! I've been wanting to try it for so long!

Let's see, first sniff is...puzzling. Sweet and citrusy.

On, it's a sweet, perfumey grapefruit. The ginger is there but not dominant at all and very well blended in. There is a slighlty smokey note in here too.

Mmm, I really like this and am glad I got it.

  12. Mmmm, nice. This reminds me a lot of one of the Possets I tried recently, only I can't remember which one. Maybe the Observatory?

Anyway, it's a very light, warm lightly spicy and sweet amber, and maybe a teeny hint of non-offensive floral. It really is a golden scent! This is how I wish the amber in O smelled on me. It hasn't made me sneeze yet. I am liking this a lot more than I thought I would!

  13. Mmm, this is a light light ginger scent, with a little soft sweetness. A toned down, sweet milk-and-honey ginger. When I first put this on I thought I could detect a slight green note, but I can't now. The only problem is that it's a very light scent and I have to put my nose right up to my wrists to smell it. It's so nice, I wish it had better throw!

  14. Yay, I recieved the Inquisition scent I wanted most!

On first sniff in the bottle, Infatuation is everything I ever wanted in a scent! It's sweet and tart fruity with cherry, grapefruit and other undiscernable fruits.

Very quickly, an exotic floral comes out and mingles with the fruits as the cherry and grapefruit fade and it turns into a general fruity exotic floral scent. I usually do not like florals, but this scent is not a typical floral, and it has major fruity undertones, even though it gets more and more florally as it fades.

Although I kinda wish this smelled just like the first sniff in the bottle, I really really like it and am a happy Inquisitionee. Thank you lab and post!

  15. Mmm, this is a very light scent on me, but very nice. It's a very non-offending florally citrus, more like an almost-floral (from the white tea and apple blossom I guess). I couldn't really get any distinct notes from it aside from the grapefruit. It made me feel like it was a beautiful spring day and I was catching whiffs of an orchard or garden on the soft breeze. The scent is very light though, I think if I wanted to smell it more I'd have to slather it, not that I'd have a problem with that :P

    Bottom line: Sophisticated and Springy.

  16. The Queen of Sheba, half-demon, they said, on her father's side, witch woman, wise woman, and queen, who ruled Sheba when Sheba was the richest land there ever was, when its spices and its gems and scented woods were taken by boat and camel-back to the corners of the earth, who was worshipped even when she was alive, worshipped as a living goddess by the wisest of kings, stands on the sidewalk of Sunset Boulevard at 2:00 A.M. staring blankly out at traffic like a slutty plastic bride on a black-and-neon wedding cake. She stands as if she owns the sidewalk and the night that surrounds her.

Honey, myrrh, lily of the valley, rose otto, fig leaf, almond, ambrette, red apple, and warm musk.

Mmm, my first sniff of this was apple with a bit of a bite from the almond, I think.

After a minute or two, the florals start to come out. They're sweet florals and the apple is still there but has faded into the background and I think I can smell myrrh and musk. I think the strongest note is the lily of the valley, but it really blends well with the rest of the notes. This isn't one of my typical scents, but it's nice.

ETA: The drydown of this scent lasted ALL DAY on me. I think it's the longest lasting BPAL oil I've found so far!

  17. Mmm, I like this a lot! It smells like spicy oranges, with a hint of tea. The cinnamon and cardamom are prominent but blended nicely- this isn't "Red Hots" cinnamon but more like "a cinnamon stick stirring orange tea" cinnamon.

The lasting power is pretty nice, I can still smell the drydown fairly well after 4 hours.

  18. MAN this is good! It's definitely strawberry, but not simply strawberry...it has a bit of rounding out, which I can't tell if it's floral or green or almost herbally, but something else is there. It smells so familiar, too. Like somethingI've smelled a long time ago. It's very nice and it lasted a good 4 hours or so.

  19. Thank you for the replies!

Titus Andronicus sounds nice, will have to see if he won't mind the amber (it is BLACK amber after all)!

Theodosius DEFINITELY seems my speed, but if I can get him to wear it, all the better! :P

Actually, I think they all sound great and will have to have a little perfume party! I already have an imp of Aureus, so I think it will be the first on the list to try.

  20. In the vial: Sweet root beer.

When first applied: Smells like a root beer float, but I could definitely smell the woods. That wood note (more Balsam than Cedar, I think) kept jumping up into my nose for a little while, but then seemed to fade away.

Later: Right now, 6-7 hours later, whatever's left is mainly vanilla, but if I get really close, I can still catch a hint of root beer. This is very nice, and I am debating over whether to invest in a bottle of it or stick with imps.
