  1. This is beautiful. I'm smelling all the notes in order.

The polished rosewood of a seance table. A splash of rose water worn as perfume on the pulse points of the gypsy at the other end. The powdery lilac trail of ectoplasm left behind by a spectral presence, carrying along with it the scent of long dead and dried rose petals, perhaps from a funeral bouquet and the depth of dark black tea trying to decipher messages in a cup.

This definitely lives up to the name. I'm glad I got a bottle of this one!

  2. I was lucky to receive a freebie decant of this one.

It's not what I imagined. I was thinking it would be a spicy, smoky vanilla. i guess my nose is picking up on the opposite, since I'm not getting any cardamom. The tobacco is the most prominent, followed by the vanilla which subdues it a bit and blends beautifully with it. The oudh must be hiding in the background because I'm not picking up on that note either.

Since I am not really a tobacco fan, I wouldn't have assumed I'd like this at all but the combo of the two is very nice and I end up having sweet, smoky smelling tresses. I like this enough to get a bottle. :wub3:

  3. Oh, this is very nice...

I'm getting strong rose water and soft frankincense, precisely. I don't smell any green notes or dirt notes, just those two. I agree that the scent throw is average. To me, this is a beautiful light and ethereal scent. I think any rose enthusiasts out there will love this.

  4. This is a very nice green tea blend. If you're a fan of Embalming Fluid, you would like this.

The green tea is very similar except the honey adds a beautiful sweetness to it. Imagine cool green tea swirled with sweet honey and a drop of vanilla and there you have it!

  5. MARS ALATOR

    Mars the Huntsman

    Sweet fig and vetiver.

This one is interesting for sure, but is definitely more masculine in my opinion and not wearable for me.

The vetiver is very pungent and is the first thing I smell. The fig is barely there, and it's having a very strange effect on the vetiver. I am smelling smoke, woods, figgy wine and roasted meat? I know, that sounds very strange, and it may just be my skin chemistry.

My verdict is that I'm interested to see how well it plays with others, but because of the strong vetiver and the roasted meat effect, this guy is going to swaps.

  6. Marshmallow root, coconut, macadamia milk, cream accord, and a drop of golden amber.

Whew, I really thought I would enjoy this one, but sadly that's not the case...

This for me is coconut and buttery popcorn. I'm assuming the popcorn I'm smelling is the macadamia. The cream in this blend is really nice, it's very soft and reminds me somewhat of the creamy note in Boo which is one of my favorites, but the coconut is just too overpowering and the macadamia is too buttery and weird on my skin.

I'm afraid this one is off to swaps.

  7. Mmm vanilla soaked apricots, yum yum!

The apricot in this blend is very persistent and doesn't want me to pay any attention to the cardamom apparently, because I can't smell it at all. I get soft ripe apricots glazed with vanilla. It's warm and comforting, and yummy. It makes me think of Summer, and how nice it ifeels to take a bite out of a tasty fruit (apricots in this case) while feeling the warm sun (that would be the warm vanilla here) on your skin.

  8. This is also one of my favorites so far from the Lupers this year.

I'm not really getting much amber amping on me. It smells more like a cup of strong black tea with jasmine petals and a tiny bit of vanilla to add some softness. It's a simple yet beautiful jasmine/tea that is very elegant and enigmatic. Wearing it makes me feel like I've been transported into a tea reading room in victorian times.

  9. Coconut, white jasmine, and mint-green moss with honeysuckle, tuberose, and white amber.

I honestly didn't pay much attention to this one when the Lupers were posted because I don't like mint notes and thought it would be too out of my element since I mostly wear foody scents, but I am very pleasantly surprised and am so happy I received a decant of this!

Firstly, I smell no mint at all (yay!). The Jasmine is the most prominent note, followed by honeysuckle, moss, and the amber. I loveeee the jasmine, it's just gorgeous, fresh and sweet. The honeysuckle and amber create this beautiful soft golden halo around the jasmine, and the moss is very subtle, adding freshness to the blend. I love this and can't wait to get my hands on a full bottle.

If you love jasmine, you'll want to invest in a few bottles. Just save some for me. :P

  10. This has turned out to be one of my favorites from Lupercalia 2015.

In the vial it smells like sharp almond oil. Almond to me always seems to have a maraschino cherry vibe going on. On my skin the cream softens the almond and the mimosa adds a bit of a fizzy feel to it, kind of like champagne? Overall it's a very mild, creamy and sweet effervescent scent.

This is going to be even better when the warmer weather hits.

  11. A sugar-dusted pile of sufganiyot, trickling bright rivulets of strawberry jelly.

Dang this stuff is so good .

You know those balls of fried dough dipped in powdered sugar that you can get from Chinese restuarants? It smells exactly like that to my nose, only imagine that they're filled with delicious warm strawberry jelly.

    Yum yum. :wub2:

  12. This is beautiful, though it's very light. It smells precisely like what you'd smell when opening a bottle of bourbon vanilla extract. It's very subtle and I can see this working well for layering with other scents because it doesn't overpower. It's just a beautiful soft vanilla.

  13. I decided to take a gamble on a bottle of this, and I'm glad I did! It's gorgeous, I kind of wish I'd bought a second bottle. This reminds me of the smells of Christmas, though it's definitely wearable any time of year. I can see this being used a lot in the Summer because it's so refreshing.

To my nose, this smells of sweet sharp pine trees covered in a gentle snow, fresh holly berries and a light ethereal musk surrounding it all in a glorious aura of magic. I might just turn into an elf from wearing it. I adore Elf and encourage you to grab a bottle while you can! :wub2:

  14. I was pretty excited to try this, unfortunately this smells like lavender tortilla chips on my skin and makes me feel really nauseous. I have never had this issue with any other oils. I immediately had to go and scrub it off because it's just unbearable on me.

The lavender is very heavy in this blend. I usually have no problem tolerating lavender and I enjoy it but this is way too strong for my taste. The vanilla/marshmallowy note ends up smelling like stale tortilla chips, which I know sounds weird... maybe it's just my skin. Looks like this guy is going into the swap pile, sorry TKO. :cry2:

  15. I just acquired a bottle of this liquid goodness through a swap.... and it is amazing. Seriously I hope my husband likes this as much as I do, because I want to spray everything in our house with it.

The first thing I think of is that it smells exactly like Jack, except maybe Jack lying on a bed of hay and eating some caramel covered apples. It's mildly sweet, a little spicy, warm and definitely inviting. I love it. :wub3:

  16. Just received my first batch of imps in the mail today, excited to try more! Figured I'd get some suggestions here, since I'm always open to try new things!

I'm 20 years old, a college student without many plans for the future yet! Undeclared major, undecided about pretty much everything. I'm a Virgo sun sign but I really don't fit the stereotypes, I actually identify more with my Libra moon sign and Aries rising. I'm a very cheery, extroverted person by nature, and love being around and helping people! However, I've been struggling with anxiety and depression for a long time, so that holds me back a lot. I tend to form fast and close friendships with those who I get to know, I'm a total Hufflepuff! I have no interest in romantic love but I am absolutely overflowing with platonic love for my friends and family.

I'm from the great plains and feel very attached to the prairie I grew up in. I'm accustomed to being able to drive for ten minutes or less and find myself surrounded by miles of corn and soybeans and sunflowers on every side. I love going on walks through the area - I live right on the Missouri river and there's a lot of beautiful hiking paths.

My hobbies are very crafty, including sewing and knitting. Especially knitting. I cosplay, which for those who don't know, is creating a costume to dress up like your favorite character from a book, show, movie, game, or comic! I love dressing up and taking photos with my friends, many of which I met through the hobby. I never outgrew cartoons, I absolutely love the mahou shoujo genre of anime from Japan. I'm also very inquisitive, I've been into science since I was a little girl helping my older brothers with their science fair and science olympiad projects. I especially love chemistry and ecology.

Style wise, I've had my aesthetic described as "a magical girl who wears a ton of frills and pink glitter gets lost in the woods, and emerges years later with a working knowledge of practical witchcraft." Basically, I like both fairy kei and mori kei. (most days I just wear tee shirts, doc martins, and jeans, though, or maybe a skirt with tights and boots. i'm too poor to afford the style i really want. ) I'm rather plain looking: light brown, curly hair; blue-grey-green eyes; average build; beige skin that tans a lot in the summer. I like to think I'm rather cute, I have wide eyes and strong eyebrows, I've been told I look like a young (teenaged) Brooke Shields, or maybe Lauren Cohan when I wear a lot of makeup.

    tl;dr:

Astrology: Virgo sun, Libra moon, Aries rising

    Element: Earth

    Meyer's Brigg's: ENFP

    Alignment:Chaotic Good

    Hogwarts House: Hufflepuff

    Sburb Title: Sylph of Heart

I immediately thought of Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo for you.

  17. This scent is SO gorgeous.

To be honest, I love rose but most of the time the rose scents I try are just too flowery and leave me feeling like a grandma. This one however...

At first the myrrh completely dominates and it's just resinous and sexy. After a little while as the myrrh mellows out the rose just comes out in full bloom and it is sweet and gorgeous and dripping with distinction. It makes you feel powerful feminine and sultry. I love it. :wub3:

  18. I really wanted to like this blend and was drawn to it because I love cake notes and incense, but unfortunately I get all frankincense and no cake. The frankincense note is very robust and strong, it's all I'm smelling.

    I wanted some cake. :cry2:

  19. I absolutely am in love with how gorgeous this scent is. It's the type of scent that makes you feel deeply luxuriant. On my skin I get a blast of sweet deep red wine. The wine scent doesn't dissipate, but instead makes room for the white musk and champaca flower to linger and create an elegant pale background to balance the depth of the scent. It reminds me of Lampades, but sweeter. Beautifully blended. One of the best Black Phoenix scents I've ever worn!

  20. When I first put it on this smells distinctly like wet strawberry cake batter. I'm kind of amazed how spot on it is. My mother used to bake cakes from strawberry boxed mix and it smells exactly like that. It's not all strawberry though, after a little while the cake batter morphs into a sweet, warm vanilla musk that lingers for quite a while. Maybe I am slightly biased because I love foody smells, but my hubby (who is hard to please as far as perfumes go) loves it too so I had to get a bottle. :wub2:
