    Khandita

On me, this is a bright, sweet floral which dries down to a beautiful musky spice. The rose and neroli behave themselves very nicely, never turning soapy or powdery. I'm in love with this scent and definitely need a bottle.

    Anaconda

There are some BPAL caramels I can't wear because they're too buttery, but this is perfection. It's sweet and sugary, but the Snake Oil gives it a delicious depth and spiciness. The throw is perfect too--not too much, but I don't have to glue my nose to my wrist to smell it either. Although my nose wants to be on my wrist anyway, just to breathe in every last molecule. If this ever became available in 5ml form, I would be such a happy girl...

    Cottonmouth

Snake Oil with linden blossom, calla lily, passion flower, and narcissus. Cottonmouth is a very light, sweet, fresh floral. It makes me feel happy and reminds me of springtime. I don't smell much Snake Oil, but we'll see if this changes as the oil ages. I definitely need more of this!

    Habu

Habu is hard to figure out, but I think I like it! It smells a little bit fruity, a little bit aquatic, a little bit green. I don't smell much Snake Oil compared to some of the other Snake Pit blends. After drying, it becomes more woodsy, but it still smells very fresh. Different and very nice!

    Asp Viper (2006)

This is verrrryyy almondy! The mandarin is just a hint of citrus, and the Snake Oil grounds it all with lovely spicy goodness. This is one of the foodier blends in the Pit, and it is . I will have to resist the urge to hoard.

    Svadhinaopatika

This reminds me a lot of O, but it's deeper and woodsier, and smells a little more perfumey. It also smells slightly floral. It's bold, sophisticated, and feminine. Lovely!

    Banded Sea Snake (2006)

I think slave1's description of this as "bright Snake Oil" is perfect. I can smell the SO in it, but there's a bright green note on top of it that changes the feel entirely. This would be great for warmer weather, when Snake Oil would be too heavy. It's a happy scent, as opposed the original, which I think of as dark and sexy. Another winner!

    Death Adder

I was a little wary of the vetiver in this, but it's actually a pretty smooth blend of coconut and Snake Oil, with the vetiver just adding to the complexity of the scent. And, big bonus, the coconut doesn't turn all plasticky on my skin! Definitely hoard-worthy.

    Western Diamondback

This smells just like its description, Snake oil with smooth leather and dry, dusty sage, with a background of tonka and sandalwood. It could easily be worn by a man or a woman, and it's very sexy. I'm just decanting it for a circle right now, but I think I may need to get my own bottle sometime soon!

    Thalassa, the Galapagos Mermaid

Thalassa is a gorgeous, complex aquatic. It starts out very fresh and sweet, and after it dries it becomes smoother and slightly more floral. I didn't think I'd ever find an aquatic that could compete with Olokun for my attention, but this can. It's different enough, and beautiful enough, that I definitely need to have both. My favorite of Act III so far!

    Cupid Complaining to Venus

Mmmm, this is absolutely delicious smelling. It may even be my favorite fruity floral ever. I smell the peach blossom, apples, and glorious honey, while the other notes blend in seamlessly and make it more complex. I'll be needing a bottle for sure.

    The Cup of Death

I'm so sad that no peach note appears on my skin. It's all herbal floral, with lavender standing out the most. Not sweet at all, and not for me.

    Fire Pig

Fire Pig smells fruity, juicy, and just delicious. It reminds me of that initial burst of sweetness you get when putting a piece of fruity gum in your mouth. It fades rather quickly on my skin, but it's worth slathering or wearing in a scent locket. I need to grab at least one more bottle before it goes away.

    Night's Pavilion

Night's Pavilion 2007 On me, this is a soft floral with herbs and musk. It doesn't turn soapy or powdery, which is nice. It's very pretty, although I don't often wear florals and may not get around to using the whole bottle. I may imp out some and keep some.

    Luperci

Luperci 2007 Mmmm...earthy and musky, with just a hint of honey and beeswax. This is subtler than I expected, and very smooth. I like it a lot.

    Bakeneko

I freakin' LOVE this scent! It's warm, spicy, and cuddly. Not too sweet, but just sweet enough. It smells like musky, spicy citrus tea. I am so happy I ordered this one.

    Enraged Groundhog Musk

In the bottle, this is OMGBUTTERYCARAMEL! I'm almost afraid to try it on. But on my skin, the chocolate and cherries and spiciness come out, as well as the musk once it's dry. Whew, what a relief! This is actually quite delicious smelling, and I'm looking forward to wearing it whenever my sweet tooth is acting up. Yum!

    Spider

I thought that I'd love this with the citrus and ginger, but I'm actually not smelling any of the notes in the description. Spider smells dry, dusty, and ethereal. It's definitely a unisex/slightly masculine fragrance. It's interesting, but just not the sort of scent I like to wear. I'll be sending it off to a new home where it can get the love it deserves.

    Abhisarika

I usually can't wear rose scents, but this sounded so pretty that I had to try a decant--and I'm not disappointed that I did! This is definitely a floral scent, but it doesn't turn into soap, powder, or dryer sheets. It's creamy and feminine and light. It doesn't last as long as most other BPAL fragrances on me, but I may try it in a scent locket because that usually helps. This is one of my favorite florals, and I may have to snag a bottle before it goes away!

    Priala, the Human Phoenix (2006)

I'm a cinnamon lover, so I thought Priala would be a new favorite. Unfortunately, it ends up smelling almost bitter on my skin. I do smell the cinnamon, but it's not foody or sweet, just very dark and smoky. I could see this being great on the right person, and it actually would work equally well on men or women because it's not too sweet. However, it just doesn't work on my skin, so I will be swapping it away to a better home.

    Faiza, the Black Mamba (2006)

This does smell very green and slithery. None of the notes are jumping out at me; it's just a kind of wet, dank, gloomy scent. Not for me.

    Zarita, the Doll Girl (2006)

Zarita is soft, sweet, powdery, and feminine. She verges on cloying at first, but is lovely after drying down a bit. This is not the sort of scent that I'd usually wear, but I still appreciate its beauty.

The Wild Men of Jezirat al Tennyn (2006)

This smelled so strongly of sweet patchouli in the vial that I almost didn't test it, and what a shame that would have been! It actually dries down into a sexy, slightly spicy, slightly sweet scent that isn't too strong. I'll definitely keep my decant around and maybe try it on the husband too. If you liked Count Dracula, you may like this too. Give it a try!

    Dolce Stil Nuovo

Roses and jasmine are big no-no's for me as a rule, and lavender isn't a favorite either (although I make an exception for sleep blends). So you'd think I'd hate this, but surprise: it actually works! The lavender is a bit too strong in the beginning, but it settles down nicely. The rose and jasmine stay in line too, and the musk and amber make the blend smooth and pretty. I don't often wear florals, so I don't think I need a bottle of this, but I'm still very glad I got to try it.

    The Sailor's Den

This smells very sweet, feminine, and classy (also very expensive). It is soft and powdery in character but actually has quite a lot of throw. It doesn't really smell boozy or leathery or floral or like any of the individual notes, at least to me. I suppose the orris may be what's making it powdery, and there is a hint of sweet coconut, but other than that, the blend just takes on a character all its own. It's not the type of scent I usually wear, but I will definitely keep my imp around for times I'm feeling especially elegant. Another fantastic new Salon blend!
