    High John the Conqueror

After all the first-hand testaments about the "effects" of this scent I was looking forward to the arrival of my HJTK imp more than any other imp before. My fear was that it would not wear well on me and I would have to mask it with another scent... Today I received my package and tore straight through all the wrapping to get to HJTK. I hesitated for a moment (thinking how I may be disappointed), twisted the cap off and took my first sniff... Top note: Grape...but not the fruit. More like Grape Hyacinth blooms which have a gentle, floral fragrance -not heady like roses but floral nonetheless. Though I can understand why some describe it as "grape" scented, perhaps its the bright floral against a sweet note that may lead to believe it's grape scented. Middle note: slight rose, with a tinge of honey. base note: light musk. Whether or not users get this for it's properties beyond it's scent, this is a lovely perfume. Light, floral, very wearable for daytime.

    Snake Oil

Oh my....this is good. As soon as I opened the bottle, I was hit with a spicey, almost overwhelming aroma. Then I dabbed a bit on the skin. Warm, sticky sweetness emerged. No longer spicey as in the bottle, the vanilla scent surged forward, supported by a spice background, which dried to a fragrant, powdery finish. Very comples scent which changes with every whiff. Beautiful.

    Two, Five & Seven

It's hard to get an authentic, garden fresh rose smell. I know, because it's been a search of mine for years. Luckily I have my own garden of wonderful roses: teas, hybrids, English, Chinese, etc. that fill that earthly desire for one of Mother nature's more potent scents. However, they last for such a short while, and then it's back to searching again... So I welcomed the chance to try TWO, FIVE and SEVEN with an urgency that almost made me spill my sample. As soon as I opened the vial, I was hit by a musty rose scent, akin to letting roses sit in water for a few days. It was not the most pleasant of scents, perhaps every vinegary. I hesitated to put it on skin as i already was somewhat put off by the initial whiff. However, once on the skin, it changed. 30 seconds passed and i was hit by a waft of rose scent as though I had just handled a bunch of roses from different varietals- each sniff caught a different type of rose. I was perplexed, intrigued and somewhat taken aback at how much the scent developed as it dried. A minute passed and I finally picked up the touch of green, as a final note. It was really like having just arranged a whole bunch of roses by an open window, and catching their scent off a light breeze. Amazingly complex scent. In the end, I would recommend it, but must add that users be ginger in application. Too much of a good thing is not good at all, so restraint is best when using TWO, FIVE and SEVEN.

    Yggdrasil

From the bottle: wet, tilled earth, oak, leaves-under-foot, fresh moss with minty hints. On the skin: floral emerges above the earthy/woodsy smell. Hints of cinnamon and herb also come to the foreground. Earthy and woodsy, rich and subtle. Remarkable how clear the earth, wood tones are.

    Tempest

In the bottle: Crisp ozone with an aquatic/green background. There is a slight mossy hint with a touch of sea-saltyness as well. Upon the skin: Ozone and aquatic notes emerge first, then fade to the background as citrusy and floral hints come to the fore. Top notes give way to a lovely fresh scent that lingers delicately. Truly lovely and really does fit its name.

    Recommmendations for Green Scents

I'm reading and writing this all down... My list will keep 'em busy at the lab. Thanks everyone who offered recommendations. I never thought I'd see anyone producing scents akin to "flowing water"... wow.

    Recommmendations for Green Scents

HI everyone! I joined yesterday, and as soon as I posted my first Q, already I felt the caring help of several members. THANK YOU ALL. However, I do want to purchase more from the Lab and also take part in swaps, so I ask: What scent is the closest to the smell of freshly-cut grass? Or is evocative of a dewey Spring morning and the trees are just about to leaf/ bloom ? Thanks everyone.
