    Honey and Beeswax scents

    It's from the Marchen collection.
  2. Thanks for the info MamaMoth, I posted a link to this post on the "Postal rants and raves" thread so that it would get more exposure.

    Where is this scent?

It's from Sin and Salvation category here. "A paean to true holiness, spiritual purity, and sacred enlightenment. Based on an incense blend sacred to the Virgin Mary: perfect rose absolute and Palestinian Lily of the Valley with olibanum, labdanum, frankincense and myrrh." Reviews are here.
  4. The lab doesn't send out a confirmation, just a CnS. Did you get your PP receipt after you placed your order. That is what I go by, but if you are nervous, you might just want to send them an email. I also don't know what was in your order - it might have been one of the ones that have been hung up? Customer service is answers@blackphoenixalchemylab.com. That's still the right address.

    Devil's Night

2009 Version OMG - *needs a gazillion bottles of this* I have all of the versions and I love (and hoard) them all, but this is my absolute favorite. This has the perfect amount of smokiness for me and that bit of boozy bite. I'm happy that I'm not getting the strong cinnamon note that others have mentioned. It's there, but definitely in the background and very well balanced. This is my favorite of Beth's smoke note bends so far and even though I live in Southern California, Devil's Night 09 certainly feels like Autumn to me. I am finding so many winners in the Weenies this year. ETA - I have now had this on for about an hour and it just gets better. The fine nuances are now coming forward and the booziness is not so *in your face* and it has mellowed down to a sweet, slightly musky booze. The smoke note just sort of swirls around above everything and I keep catching whiffs of the bonfire.

    Pumpkin II (2009)

I'm not really into florals, but I always love a good rose. I was a bit wary of this because I'm generally not a fan of tearose, but I love wood notes and I was really curious. Well, I think that this is one of my favorite rose blends from BPAL. I just love the combination of the notes and it ends up being almost all sweet spicy rose to me, but I really like it. This pumpkin, like the rest of the patch this year, is a winner in my book and I'm glad that I have a bottle.

A scent to connect to your higher self?

You might want to try Aureus from Bewitching Brews. This is the description: True, perfect golden light, refined into an incomparably glorious scent.

Wine, Beer, Rum, Bourbon... the booze scents

I love Mad Sweeney. It's a little intense, but I like it a lot and I also like it layered with wood blends. Forbidding Foyer is another of my favorites.

    Pumpkin IV (2009)

This is gorgeous! I don't usually do foody, preferring resinous, woody and smoky blends. This pumpkin is very sexy resins and unlike any of the pumpkins from this year or past years. The clove is not overbearing as it can often be, but really complements the other notes in the blend. It's a bit perfumy and reminds me of Parce Que which is a perfume that I used to wear in the early 80's, but with a BPAL twist. I love this a lot and I can imagine how this one will age - beautiful.

    Searching for the Perfect Vanilla?

I was going to suggest Midway as well. That's the truest vanilla that I have found so far, but I have not yet ordered Boo. I love Tombstone, but I also like wood notes, so it is right up my alley. I would really suggest that you hunt around for Midway..........what about Sachs or Detestable Putrescence? I haven't tried those two either, but they have gotten good reviews for vanilla scents and they are both available.

    CCNow Questions & Problems

Rubymulligan, I understand that your concern is because you are seeing other orders which were placed at the time your order was placed and the CnS notices are passing you by. I'm wondering if those other orders were much smaller than yours or if one or more of your bottles is holding it up a bit. It's still early, so I wouldn't be too worried about it, but if it eases your mind, I would just send them an email. Bear in mind, though, it isn't yet 10 business days from when your order was placed.

    CCNow or PayPal

You don't need to worry about it being processed. The only problem with doing it that way is that the lab gets hit twice with fees - from CCNow and from Paypal.

    Searching for the Perfect Vanilla?

For the more traditional lavender vanilla blend, my pick would be TKO as well, but if you want something a bit different, then Lilith Victoria would be a good choice. I wear both of these for my sleep blends.

    Kill-Devil

I have been wanting to try this for the longest time and I grabbed an aged bottle from the sales posts. Wet, this is very sweet and boozy. After it calms down and dries, that lovely oak note emerges and the booze note picks up a bit of a green herbal tinge. I'm not sure what is doing that, but it's a fresh note that keeps it from smelling exactly like Mad Sweeney, Oak King and Perilous Parlor. Since I love all three of those, I am thrilled about Kill-Devil and the oak note is just beautiful in this.

    Oak King v4

I got this decant from a wonderful forum friend and I was so surprised and excited to see it in the package of goodies. I love wood notes and oak is one of my favorites. This starts out sort of boozy and woody, but dries down to the wood and the booziness pretty much disappears. Along with the oak is a drier wood note that I really couldn't place, but others are mentioning birch, so I guess that's what it is. I really love this and I am so glad to have this treasured decant. I will wear it from time to time, but I will use it sparingly so as not to be left without and for the days when I must slather, I will wear Kill-Devil which has the booziness and that beautiful oak.

    Blackberry Jam & Scones

I get a really coarse grainy scone from this and it reminds me of the maple oat scones from Starbucks, but with vanilla frosting rather than the maple. For some reason, I am reminded of Blackberry incense as opposed to blackberry jam. I could be sitting on my porch eating a vanilla oat scone while blackberry incense wafts out of my house. I love this and it sticks around for hours. Thank you fairy godmother for picking me up a bottle.
  17. It's hard to know depending upon your chemistry and what you are picking up on, but if it's the aquatic note, you might like Tempest or if it's the aquatic with floral you might also like Thalassa the Galapagos Mermaid. Someone in the reviews section said that it reminded them of Embalming Fluid, so you might want to give it a try as well. Are you just looking to find similar blends in that vein? I was just curious since Sea of Glass is still available.

How to make a paypal order.

I wasn't sure if you were asking about their Paypal address, but it is: Please address all PayPal payments to: twilight [AT] twilightalchemylab [DOT] com The shipping charges would be the same as for the lab. I hope that this was the information that you needed.

    Lawn Gnome

I feel as if I am reviewing a completely different oil than anyone else. I put this on and I am immediately transported to the Summer of Love and a jeans store called London Britches where incense is wafting around and the smell of the Indian bedspreads permeates the air. It smells like sugary vanilla currant incense on me. The patchouli is really grounding this blend and keeping it from being too light. I had imagined something a bit different, but I love the memory trip that this has taken me on. The throw is huge and lasts for a good 10 hours.

What do bottles and labels look like?

Actually, they don't always look the same - just to confuse and surprise us! I have a couple of the old cobalt blue bottles of Snake Oil with the black and white GC label and then I have a newer bottle which is about 2 years old of Snake Oil with an antique parchment looking label and a totally different look.

    Labores Solis

This is one of my favorite resin blends from BPAL. I am a resin girl, but I really ordered this because the eclipse is the day before my birthday. I was so happy when I tried this because it is so beautiful, resinous and the sweet wood notes. It reminds me of Aureus, but more orange than gold which is the color that I see when I wear Aureus. The combination of the frankincense with the herbs reminds me of Carceri d'Invenzione with the sweet redwood note. This is absolutely gorgeous.

What do bottles and labels look like?

I believe that Danube is the regular GC label without any picture.
  23. Lavender, maybe lilac and violet, possibly a hint of another floral I could never place unfortunately. I found a candle scent site which has a lot of B&BW type scents and they had a lavender blend with these notes - "Lavender flowers enhanced by lilac, rose & jasmine with a spicy woody undertone." Does that sound like it could be the same?

    Where is this scent?

Go to the lab announcement page here and click on the thread about Strawberry Moon being live here. Go halfway down the page, above the picture of the tee, to the words "over here" and click on the link. You can also subscribe to the lab announcements and the link will also be in your email message. Welcome to the forum and enjoy!

    Different smells/colors, same perfume

A lot of it is due to the aging of your oil in the original imp most likely. So, you might just want to tuck away your new imp and your bottle as well for a bit. Also, since BPAL is not fragrance oil, sometimes the components will play a huge part on how different batches smell....and then there is just the fact that it is a different batch, just like the difference in dye lots.
