Fresh, bright peach that softens to warm and sweet. This is a DEAD RINGER for an Arcana from several years ago that I loved but never got a bottle of called Peaches Crave True Love.

This isn't so much "strawberry jam filled doughnut" to me as "strawberry filled twisted flaky pastry they sell in Fantasyland".

OK, BPAL's honey note is always a mixed bag for me- sometimes it's nice, other times its waxy or mixes poorly. My favorite, by far, has been the honey-cakes in Cockaigne. Are there any others, GC or LE, that people have thought have that same honey note?

I get mostly cedar, amber with a touch of orange blossom/neroli from this. I'm glad the musk shuts up- musks have ruined far too many nice perfumes. While I wish the saffron and honey were more apparent, I do really love this. Scrappy is a good term, this is a scent for the heroine comfortable in the woods and stables.

Though at some distances it kind of almost smells like Coca Cola.

Pretty accurately caramel/sea salt, but there's a harsh note that's unlike any other aquatic I've worn. Throw is crazy too (my mom could smell it half the house away with one dab- it made her mildly nauseous too)

Snickerdoodles and ginger tea. This smells like Christmas Eve at my house, when I'm getting around to doing all the baking finally. The spice in the cookies isn't burny either!

Both the 2007 and 2013 versions I've tried smell very much the same (2013 is a little more buttery at the start), but 2013 doesn't make my skin red

OOO, at first a blast of sweet caramel with dusty paper, much like Miskatonic University. On my skin the flowers come out, these are of the antique pressed flowers variety, backed by a very soft, worn leather. It's lovely, but quite faint.

Yup, this is the snow note from Snow White without any weird plastic making florals, with a dose of sugar. Really pretty, but I don't think I'll need a bottle (except maybe a cheap partial from someone selling decant circle remnants)

Hmm. I love the 2007 version, its the perfect blend of floral violets, sweetness from the candy, and the touch of something else from the chimney soot. Maybe it just needs aging, but the 2013 version seems way more floral, with the lillies predominant.

I love strawberries, love them to death, have since I was a little girl. Since I started buying perfumes, I have been searching for the perfect strawberry scent.

I've found it.

I've had four types of encounters with BPAL's strawberry notes. One disappears completely (Bon Vivant, Love and Loli Goth all did this), which is extremely disappointing. Another turns into cherry chapstick (Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo and White Chocolate Strawberry are both culprits here). Strawberry Moon 09 smelled like sour strawberry candy, better but still not great. The strawberry note in Mariposita, and Self Portrait with Puffy Stickers however? Is PERFECT.

This is that very strawberry, crushed and enriched with sweet honey, over a bed of very light green grass and positively drenched with sunlight. There's serious risk of me trying to eat my arm here.

Out of the bottle, this smells JUST like cherry ICEE syrup! As it dries, it gets a little darker, and I can smell the cream and sugar more, but omg, om nom nom..

You ever heard the saying that something can be a little TOO accurate? I make gingerbread cookies every year, and my least favorite part is the vaguely acrid scent of the molasses in the jug. This scent is so accurate it HAS THAT.

Oh. My. GOD.

In the imp and when I first apply, I get lots of the sweet, dry, powdery cake that I get from Bread-and-Butter-Fly. Which is lovely, but I sniff it the wrong way and I get "baby powder"

But once it dries? Cockaigne is one of the lightest, sweetest, most wonderful honey scents I've ever smelled.

This is absolutely fucking GORGEOUS on me at first. Perfectly otherworldly and creamy, and I can smell every single note.

Then it dries down to boring old lilac.

This, along with Lady Una, are two BPALs that perfectly encapsulate "what a book heroine smells like according to other characters" to me.

When I fist put it on, its strangely plasticky for a minute, but that fades. The lavender comes out most at first, and its surprisingly nice, as lavender is one of those floral notes I associate as "old ladyish". The strawberry comes out in the drydown (BPAL strawberry is hit or miss to me; either its wonderful, or completely disappears), this strawberry is more Puffy Stickers than Bon Vivant; squishy and sweet. The honey is never super strong, but sits in the background sweetening- a bit like inexpensive honey scented soap.

DEFINITELY need a bottle of this

....I admit I was hoping like someone said, that this would be almost pure apple. Unfortunately, my skin loves whatever note is the "science experiments" which amped and resulted in my arm smelling like salad.

I think I've finally put my finger on why I love the lab's sandalwood note- it makes everything smell downright chewy. I would swear to god in the bottle this was a vanilla tootsie roll, same texture and everything. On my skin the sweet pea stays minor and gives everything a fresh little kick. Definitely a keeper.

: drools: This smells like the backyard of my childhood home. Grass and weeds, wild roses that grew up into the fence and rocks, small sour strawberries that didn't really taste right, but smelled perfect. DEFINITELY bottle worthy.

OK, I've got a question.

I got an imp of Tamora from a seller here a month or two ago. It was a pale yellow color with a new looking label, and it smelled DIVINE, shot up to my top 5 immediately and I wear it at least weekly. Because I couldn't justify ordering a bottle yet, when I bought a batch of imps from a seller, to up my number to a "get one free" level I took her imp of Tamora knowing I would use it. But when I got it, it also had a new looking label, but the oil was a darker red color than the first one I got, like Velvet or Sed Non Saitia. And when I put it on, it smells almost vile. There's a powerful woody smell, but more cedar or oak than sandalwood, and while I think I get some peach, but I might just be reaching for it smell like my other imp. I'd wondered if I maybe got a mislabelled Imp or Fae, and the musk or oakmoss was going rancid on my skin, but the deep drydown smells almost similar (its doesn't last as long as my other imp did either!). Has anyone else encountered this? Did it reforumulate or something? Tamora was going to be my first big bottle purchase, and if this is what I would get it would be a heartbreaker D:

In the imp, this is both sweet and buttery. The butter mostly disappears on my skin. This isn't so much bread as it is a sweet, dry baked good. A scone dusted with powdered sugar perhaps. And the sweet, sharp pleasant scent that can only be strongly brewed black tea. Wonderful. Definitely worth a bottle.

My scent preferences usually tend to fruity, foody and woody, but I feel like I need to find at least ONE great floral BPAL for my collection. I prefer fruity florals- I've tried Titania, and its beautiful but also gone within 30 minutes. White musk is a death note- its all I could smell in Katharina, and turned Juliet into a block of Ivory soap. I also love the smell of green grass- it makes florals smell all the more real. Rose and I tend to be enemies- I dont discount it entirely, but it was all I got from the drydown of Alice, and I think its what made Ophelia vaguely plasticky. I like pretty much all fruits, and flowers I particularly like are honeysuckle. sweet pea, stargazer lily, daisy, and tropical flowers. And I ESPECIALLY love fruit blossoms- apple blossom, orange blossom, peach blossom, cherry blossom.

As a comparison, a good one I've gotten from another co was Bath and Body Works "Beautiful Day"

"Drink Me" smells like my mom's pineapple upside down cake- canned pineapple and maraschino cherries topping a sweet cake covered with a super thick syrupy glaze. Not my favorite dessert, and not my favorite scent, but tasty in its own way.

This is indeed a very "blue" scent. Blue raspberry Gushers is what I think of most. After a while I get bits of marshmallow and candy corn. The pillowcase itself is always there, keeping what could be a very very young scent, clean and unique. Surprisingly decent throw, but once its staying power dips its pretty much gone.
