    Helena

Bottle: a lot of rose, jasmine and lily Wet: this is a surprise, the rose is actually playing nice with the jasmine. Usually jasmine rose combos are baby powder on me, but no, the rose is staying forefront, this is a very rose-centric blend on me, but the jasmine and the lily give it a nice lightness Dry: Still mostly rose, but a very nice rose, with the lovely white florals and a great warm amber base This one really surprised me, I wasn’t expecting to like this one, but I think the lily and the amber save this one from powder doom, and the rose really is a very nice rose. I’ll continue to wear it to see how I like it as it gets warmer, but I’m very pleased.

    Nyx

Bottle: JASMINE Wet: straightforward lab jasmine and rose blend, which tends to go all powdery on me, and again does so here. Dry: The myrrh comes out to play and is lovely lovely lovely, my skin loves myrrh The myrrh is the best part of this blend for me, but I have other myrrh blends that I prefer.

    Tushnamatay

Bottle: unexpectedly floral Wet: a round vanilla floral, much like Midnight Dry: soft, round, deep florals, slightly purple, slightly spicy and incensy but only a hint This very much reminds me of Midnight, which is a favorite, something deeper going on, but at the same time very soothing and welcoming.

    Seraglio

Bottle: almond, orange, rose and spices Wet: delicious citrus and almond with ROSE Dry: the citrus fades and this becomes a predominantly almond and rose blend, with hints of delicious spice Heady does describe this blend. It’s full blown rose, sensuous almond with lovely warm spices. Warm, rich, luscious.

The Passionate Shepherd To His Love

Bottle: a field of green grass and clover Wet: stays very green, heather, grass, clover, ivy, clean and crisp Dry: the spiciness of the carnation and the moss note come out as this dries, the tea rose is there but in the background, this is still mostly bright green This is lovely. Exactly as I expected. I wanted a green field and I got a green field filled with heather and clover. This is a clean scent, very strong, and perfect for spring and summer.

    Tiki Queen

Bottle: Sweet Sweet Sweet and Tropical Florals Wet: The tropical florals are right up front and still very sweet with the vanilla and the ylang ylang rounding it out Dry: This one doesn’t morph much on me, sweet white tropical florals, no coconut, very light, very feminine, and fades pretty quickly on me. This is a very fun summer perfume, sweet girly tropical. My only wish is that the coconut were more prevalent, but I think this will be great during the hot days of summer.

    Lyonesse

Bottle: buttery vanilla Wet: vanilla, amber, sweet and creamy with a hint of musk and sandalwood Dry: I think I can detect the Orris as well, the lily is just a hint I love the delicious vanilla, amber, orris blend, there is a slightly nutty undertone, and I can smell the sandalwood and a little of the musk, the lily is just the right floral balance to the warm base. The sandalwood threatened to go powdery but never did, adding a nice wood note.

    Death on a Pale Horse

Bottle: Whoa. Comet? Probably the mint and lime Wet: thankfully the cleaning powder smell fades quickly into predominantly sandalwood Dry: mostly sandalwood and patchouli, a little vetiver, a little lavender, I can’t smell the lily, it is sweet though, probably from the mint and yuzu Interesting blend, it’s earthy and ethereal at the same time, slightly powdery, in a bone dust kind of way. The sweetness kind of kills it for me, as well as the mint, as there are other blends of this type that I prefer, but well done in capturing the idea.

    Slobbering Pine

Bottle: hmm…pinesol Wet: all right, the pine is a little better at this stage, a little more woody, true pine Dry: GAH, powdery sweet note with the pine, ick ick ick. Blech. This is reminding me too much of the cleaning powder the janitor used in grade school to clean up vomit on the carpet.

    Black Rose

Bottle: heavy rose Wet: rose, I can definitely smell the roundness of the amber, not a lot of musk Dry: a lot of rose, hit you over the head rose I tend to like a lighter rose, my favorite being Crabtree & Evelyn’s Evelyn or Lush’s Amandopondo, so this very heavy moody rose is definitely not my thing.

    Tisiphone

Bottle: the ylang ylang smells like honey, and the oleander is big and floral Wet: ylang ylang and oleander, I don’t smell patchouli at all, the neroli adds to the overall sweet floral Dry: sweet floral, now a hint of incense from the patchouli This is a really nice blend, the drydown is a nice contrast to the mostly floral wet stage.

    Gaueko

Bottle: traditional, slightly masculine perfume Wet: the sandalwood, lavender, tobacco, nag champa blend is really nice, well balanced, why do I imagine this God of Night to look like a Neil Gaiman character? Dry: this is a very nice warm blend This is a more traditional perfume/cologne blend than I usually wear, but its really nice, elegant and balanced, and all good notes on me. I can definitely imagine a lanky, slightly androgynous, black-haired god, coolly smoking a cigarette on the corner as he waits to save your ass.

    Magus

Bottle: lots of wood Wet: there is a slight sweetness and earthiness over the definite cedar and sandalwood Dry: crap, this goes powdery sweet on me The cedar and frankincense are always nice, sadly, the rest of the blend doesn’t like me. Meh.

    Kubla Khan

Bottle: warm leather with tobacco, opium, hay, the tiniest hint of ice and mandarin Wet: leather continues to be the predominant note, blended with the warm opium smoke and tobacco, just a little sandalwood and ginger, hay, balsam, a little vanilla. I don’t get the florals beyond the suggestion Dry: it’s a lovely warm blend, I love the leather, opium, tobacco, ginger, vanilla combo, very masculine, a little exotic. This is a very nice blend. I like it a lot. It dries down very round and warm and a lot of leather. Definitely masculine. I have other leather blends that I prefer, but this is very nice.

The High Priest Not To Be Described

Bottle: the High Priest works at a head shop Wet: it really does smell like an occult or head shop, a mix of herbs and incense, soap and candles, but not the powdery soap smell, its actually very clean. I’m so surprised there is no patchouli in this. Dry: I think the clean note must be the chamomile, slightly sweet, I don’t get a lot of leather or musk, the incense is nicely balanced, not too overpowering. This is a surprisingly nice and clean hippy scent. I think I’ll keep it around for those summer street festival days
