  1. ...Her scent is a deep red merlot with a faint hint of leather, sexual musk and body heat over crushed roses, violets and myrtle.

:huh?: This smells mosty like bandaid on me. There's a little floral and leather in the background but...bandaid. So weird. I can't say it's very appealing on me, and certainly not sexy.

  2. Khiel's! You're so right. My SO used wear that (yep, we're in NYC) but I couldn't place the familiarity of the scent. It's not quite the same.

For me this is a tad sweeter than I would have expected (but I like it). I'm actually not a Snake Oil wearer, but I enjoy the sexiness of this scent/note. I'm just not sure I would wear it on it's own and I've never been much of a layerer. Hmmm. Very sultry though!

  3. Well this was nothing like I expected! I don't get nectarine at all. It's definitely an aquatic. I think a deep blue-green - with mermaids. It's a soft and gentle aquatic and yet somehow still deep (maybe a little earthy like a pp mentioned). I'm not big on aquatics, but of all the ones I've tried, this is way up their. Really beautiful, almost haunting.

I can see this being unisex, but then again, I find most aquatics to be unisex.

  4. So when I put this on, I was in the middle o others things so I didn't sniff it right away. The wafts were pink pepper and honey which was ok but not amazing. However when I did finally actually smell my skin it was creamy apricot honey!! Very sweet and yummy! I think it's a beautiful scent but there isn't much throw. I'll keep the decant but will have to debate getting a bottle - maybe my body is just eating it today.

ETA: From what I can remember (it was a while back when I tried it), this has a lot of similarity to O.

  5. Very foody! At first I thought I got some caramel but that faded after about ten minutes. Afterwards it was just as described - wafts of cotton candy, but mostly vanilla sugar popcorn. So interesting!

Not sure I can see myself wearing this out and about but so glad I got to try it. I do keep resniffing myself because the scent is so evocative - perfect representation of the mouse circus

  6. Hmm, I don't know if mine was mislabeled or I just have very unfortunate skin chemistry but this was awful on me. It smelled like stale cigarettes...like furniture in the room of a 90-year old smoker. Really unpleasant. I don't think I've liked any scent less in the whole BPAL collection.

  7. So I got a decant of this when it first came out but I either didn't review or didn't test it. It's just been sitting in my box since then. At first it actually reminds me of Silver Phoenix - not sure why. It does have a sort of silver/crystalline shimmer to it. But it settles down to more of a skin musk. It's nice but I'm not in love with it. I think I put it up for swaps for someone who truly loves it.

  8. Definitely pepper! Otherwise there's sort of a swirl of different notes. It's warm, a bit fruity, and quite yummy. I don't think it's for me but I think it could make an excellent room scent. There's something about it that feels almost like a fall note but it has more juicy fruit elements. Very interesting!

  9. Well humph! I had high hopes for this one but it's pretty much petitgrain single note on me and disappears in a flash. I do get just a hint of cream right before the scent vanishes. It's a bit more bitter and less juicy then I imagined, and I've never had my skin eat a scent so fast in my life! Off to swaps!

  10. I don't know what to say but I think this scent is very intriguing! And luminous. I get a soft green haze feel to this (not neon for me). There's definitely musk in the forefront, and a dash of honeydew in the back. I can see why some have said this feels more like a store perfume than most of the oils, but it's lacking that sharp alcoholic edge. This is very "hazy" on me - soft around the edges. I'm not sure often I'd wear it but I'll definitely keep the imp to find out - maybe it will turn into a bottle!

  11. Wild pansy, huh...learn something new everyday!

I definitely get the lilac note others have gotten but there's a lot more going on here. It's a medium throw watery soft floral on me. I do get whiffs of lilac, but there's another floral (or combination of florals) that's more prominent but I can't identify them. I'm not huge on wearing florals myself - a little more elegant than I can pull off, but I think I may have to try this in my oil burner!

ETA: I did use this in my burner and it's amazing. Seriously. I think I may just have to collect imps of this because it's perfect. It's soft and pretty and welcoming without being overly floral, feminine, or babyish.

  12. I expected to hate this. I was wrong!

It's still not a love, since I'm not a vetiver fan, but I find the scent quite intriguing. Vetiver and violet are so different that they create a really interesting interplay. I like the dark earthiness of the vetiver combined with the sweet lighter note of violets. I do sort of feel like I'm in a fairytale walking through the deepest part of the forest. Fun! Still I don't wear vetiver scents, but I love how evocative this is.

  13. On the forefront this actually has a really lovely light fruity scent, but in the background is something really bitter. I actually think I don't generally have good luck with orange blossom...I know most people are having blackberry reactions but I smell that one just fine. *shrug* Curiouser and curiouser.

  14. I don't really know what Chrysanthemums or Marigolds smell like, so I'm going to do this based on what the scent feels like...someday I will learn all these individual scents! There's a very slight creamy note in the background but the front has a little more tang. I want to say there's *almost* a fruity note but not quite. It's very light and has a green quality, but not quite as astringent as some green notes can feel to me. I think it's quite pretty but my skin absolutely eats it up!

  15. I'm rather at a loss on how to describe this one! It's just overall really intriguing. There's something light about it (perhaps it's the florals but I don't really get floral at all from this). There's a smooth slightly smoky (but still light) element. For me it feels like a very mysterious scent. It's not really a "me" scent but it's gorgeous and I can see a lot of women being able to pull this off. It's sensual yet light. Really lovely.

  16. For me this smells like sugary liquid butter. And it's definitely a warm scent.

It's not very complex on me but it's making my mouth water, lol. I'm not sure if I want to actually smell like it myself - but I might! Keeping my decant even if I only sniff it from time to time. (No idea which version I have but I think it's from the first release)

  17. I'm not big on any sort of woods scent for myself (even pine) so this was never going to be a good match for me. However, if I was into that sort of scent, this would be perfect. I grew up in Maine and this smells exactly like if I was walking through my (wooded( backyard in the middle of winter. So beautiful! It's pine, but not too heavy, with a fresh snowfall - and something a bit fresh too (not sure which note it is though!).

  18. Om om om om om!

I agree with others that this is more of a cocoa powder, or hot chocolate mix. It's not in bar form. But it's absolutely delicious!! It doesn't morph (although the throw is not as strong after a few minutes) and makes me very happy! I don't know how much I could wear this as I'd end up wanting to eating chocolate all day long and my brain would probably not be able to focus on anything else....but it is yummy yummy yummy! Definitely at least ket may have to go for a bottle.

  19. This is so pretty!! It's not quite what I expected but that's not necessarily a bad thing. From the very first moment this smelled floral to me. But slowly the "laundry" element came out. I definitely get "white" out of this scent. It would be especially fabulous in the spring (And even summer). I don't know, every time I smell it I feel oddly uplifted! Bottle please!

  20. During the first couple minutes I get a sweet tarts note similar to Red, but it morphs pretty quickly. This is definitely a sugary vanilla cream - only a bit of citrus (mostly tangerine). It's honestly delicious. I don't generally go for sweet, but this is so fun that I may want to get a bottle for fun occasions. It seems more of spring/summer scent to me though and we're heading into winter/fall.

  21. I don't know why but this always makes me think it's a foodie scent. Perhaps it's the golden vanilla? It warm and edible! There's a bit that reminds me of coffee cake but without the coffee - I'm sure that makes not sense to anyone, lol.
