Given to me as a frimp in a trade...no idea what to expect from this. In the Bottle: Fairly minty and something else I can't quite identify but it feels a little dirt-y. Wet: More floral comeing through but there's still a strong mint smell. Doesn't have quite the sting I would normall consider mint to have...probably calmed down by the floral. I've always shied away from sandalwood scents but I can't even pick it out here! Perhaps it's just red sandalwood I don't like... Dry: The mint has actually faded a bit but is still present. It's a lovely floral scent and seems absolute perfect for the spring/summer. Verdict: I'm fairly new to BPAL but this is my favorite scent yet! And it hasn't morphed into anything icky. If this is still the case when I go to bed tonight, I may just have to order myself a bottle! Oh the beauty of frimps. Edit: I definitely need a bottle of this when I get the money. So clean and crisp, and floral without being extremely "girly". On me the florals blend well and I can't pick out any particular scent. I also can't pick ou tthe sandalwood (which is good). The tiniest tinge of mint is still in the background. I do agree that this is a perfect scent for what it is. Someone mentioned it being "cold" and in a way it is...not frigid, but distant like the star itself. Clearly I'm still in love with this scent!

    Belle Époque

Oh, I love the idea behind this perfume! I'm a little leary of the Sandalwood, however. Well, we'll see how this goes... In the bottle: Oh yeah, there's the sandalwood. Definitely teh dominant scent for me. I do catch a bit of mandarin and lily of the valley though...a subtle softness in teh background. Like a young girl trying to hide her innocence. I know, odd description but that's what came to mind. Wet: Lots of sandalwood...and vaguely pine scented which is very odd. And a little lily of the valley in the background. Dry: The whiffs I keep getting are much more floral and fruity then when I smell from up close. I rather like the scent without the sandalwood...but I still can't decide how much I like it. The sandalwood is still there although it's moved to the background. I'll have to wait and see if it stays that way until it fades away or if it'll turn to incense on me. *crosses fingers* Overall though it's a lovely scent and it fits it's titles perfectly.

    Amsterdam

In the Bottle: Light, fresh, not really grassy as some say but more...yeah, definitely tulip. Lovely! Wet: Ok, wow. My mom has a scent from bath & body works that she sprays around the house to make is smell better...it's called absolute tulip and it's exactly the same scent...at least to my unsophisticated nose. It's nice and fresh, but I'm not sure I want to smell like my house! Dry: Hmm, the throw is sort of dying. The beautiful tulip scent is still there but there's something daker underneath that's nto particularly pleasant. I think it's my skin chemistry (it's almost a rubber smell). Too bad, I wanted to like it!

    Dragon's Tears

In the bottle: Smells like an incense shop to me, with a hint of red jolly rancher in teh background (I think that's dragon's blood but I really have no idea what it's supposed to smell like). Wet: More floral, less incense. Not really sure what to make of it. I kind of like it but I'm completely missing the aquatic notes. Floral scent is increasing. I think I like it but there's something almost antique about the smell...and I'm not that old! Dry: A tangy floral. There's nothing I can really put my finger on. Overall - I can't decide if I like it or not! I don't love it but I think it's worth giving another shot.

    Gomorrah

In the bottle: Something very woodsy about this scent. I suppose it may be date/fig since I'n not really sure what that smells like. It actually smells similar to the wood chips that I used in the bottom of my guinea pig cage as a child. Wet: Exactly the same as in the bottle. Maybe the tiniest hint of fruit every now and then but it disappears to quickly for me to tell. Dry: The fruit scent is a wee bit stronger but the wood chip smell is still dominant. Not my sort of scent at all...straight to swaps!

    Water of Notre Dame

In the bottle: Definitely something aquatic about the scent, and definite citrus scents as well. Smella bit like cleaning fluid. Wet: Smells like lemon lysol to me. Vaguely refreshing but...sort of chemically, which I know it isn't but that's what's registering in my brain. Dry: Well, the scent has changed a lot. No more sharp chemical smell and even most of the citrus is done. But now it smells like some. Fresh and clean but definitely soap. Noe a bad scent, but one I can actually get from simply taking a shower. Overall, it smells like fresh soap. Nice soap, but soap none the less. I think this'll have to go into the swap pile.

    Good flirty scents?

Wow, so many to try! My next set of imps is going to be so much fun! I did get to try Titania today...it came in one of my trades. I like the fruityness of it but I can't decide how much I like it. To me it smells a bit like the Melon Yankee candle. A nice scent, but I'm not sure that I want to smell like a candle.

    Good flirty scents?

I'm looking for a good flirty scent. Not quite sexy or girly just flirty...good for going out but you don't want them to think you're going to sleep with them. Hmm, maybe I'm just a tease! But sometheing that's kind of fun, I guess maybe a tinge of sexiness...but really flirty is the word I'm going for. I'm not looking to "knock men off their feet" but just...I dunno, words are not my forte at the moment. I tried to see if this has been done before but I don't think it has. To me flirty is very different from sexy. Did that make any sense? (Also, I promise this will be my last new topic for a while!)

    Titania

In the bottle: Pretty fruity although I can't really pick out which fruits (not red ones)...and there's an underlying scent of pine? Wet: Strong melon scent, fairly refreshing. Still some note in the background that I want to call pine but I know it's not. It kind of takes away from the spring feeling of the scent. Dry: Pretty much the same as when it was dry. A lot of melon...and I've decided that the note int he background basically makes it smell like a Yankee candle. Overall: Not really sure if I'll keep this or not. It's a nice spring scent, the melon smells very ripe! But I don't know if the scent is me. I also don't really want to smell like a candle. I think I'll keep the imp for now and try it again in a couple days before really deciding.

    Athens

I was lucky enough to receive this as a frimp from one of the users on here Not a scent I would have picked out on my own because I'm not a huge fan of myrrh in perfume but...always happy to give each scent a try! In the bottle: The myrrh is REALLY strong, but there's a hint of honey in the background. Not getting much else out of it though. Wet: Much of the same, although there's a more smoky hint to it. Actually, the honey is growing a little stronger as well. Dry: The honey and myrrh were battling it out for a while but now the myrrh is completely dominant. There's only a hint of honey. I still get no florals or wine...but I am a little clogged up so I suppose there could be vague hints of it that I can't pick up. Overall: I feel like an occult shop. That sort of incense smell that takes over everything. I'm sure it's the myrrh. I personally don't like smelling like incense. I can see this working for some people but it's definitely not for me. Another one for the swap pile. Although I oddly did like the bits of honey. I thought I wouldn't, but it's won me over. I may have to look for a honey scent. Also, the scents never seemed to blend for me. Two clashing scents, and finally one lost.

    Antique Lace

My first review! I have a feeling I'm going to be awful at this but here it goes... In the bottle: I get vanilla and waves of something that smells vaguely of incense? Or alternatively wax. Wasn't expecting that. Not at all like anyone elses descriptions and I sort of question whether it's labelled right. I'm sure it is though. My nose must just be weird. There is something sweet in there though I can't identify it. Wet: Wow, much more floral when I put it on, and I do get that whole sense of "long-faded perfume" that's in the description. Still something that smells like a wax candle to me...although no more incense smell. It actually vaguely reminds me of how my Barbie dolls used to smell. So bizarre. While typing this I keep getting wafts of it although frequently is just smells like pure vanilla. Dry: The wax bit is pretty much gone, had this been the original smell I would never have noticed it. The vanilla is very warm. I still think I smell like a Barbie. Overall: I really wanted to love this. Everyone seems to adore it but alas it doesn't like me. It's 100% Barbie smell to me. And while as a child I adored the scent of Barbie (which does actually smell pretty good and not at all like plastic, I never actually wanted to smell like one. I'm afraid I'm going to have to trade out this imp. Actually, it started turning a bit into baby powder by the end as well. I do have to say that this was a lot more complicated of a scent than I was expecting. Before it dried (and blended), I kept getting several different scents and impressions...I don't know what that means or what significance it has but I wanted to say that

    Good flirty scents?

Wow, so many suggestions! Thanks guys. My list just keeps growing and growing. Persephone seems to have gotten the most votes so I'll definitely have to try that one. But really I'd love to try them all in the end. I actually have Dorian and Titania on the way so I know I'll be able to try those soon! *goes to search pants pockets in hopes of forgotten twenties*

    Good flirty scents?

Wow, I can't believe you just quoted Daniel Vosovic. You just made my day! Plus the quote is just perfect. I need to do a little more testing to figure out what my body amps up but I'm definitely adding that to the list. I enjoy both pach and musk so...looks good! I've seen a lot of people mention Aizen-Myoo as one of their favorite scents. I definitely should check though out, especially if it's flirty Snow Bunny is rather hard to get but I'll keep my out for some. I don't like my perfumes too sweet but it it's on a little bit on the sweet side I'll probably be able to handle it. And Vixen looks good too. I don't mind it being a little sexy, I just don't want it to be too bold. So many to look at! Thanks. ---- I'll also add Persephone, Bordello, and Bewitched to the list of scents to check out. I love the reviews section on here! So much to look at, thanks for all the suggestions given!

    Good scents for travelling, vacations

One of these days I'll learn to proofread....but hey, at least I provide amusement!

    Good scents for travelling, vacations

Lol, you're right, that;s perfect! I always buy imps so I've never actually looked under Panacea. Wow. And another one I haven't looked at because of my bias towards imps. I'm really going to have to break out of my shell! Clam and fresh would be perfect. Thanks for the thought!

    Good scents for travelling, vacations

Oooh I hadn't thought of putting them in a film canister! I'm sort of a newbie so I randomly chose some. I'm hoping I like them....but I was really put this up to see what other people bring along so I could put in another order. I just want something that'll fit the adventurous mood I'll be in. But you're right, I'll probably want diversity. Thanks!

    Good scents for travelling, vacations

It's a bit of a broad topic but...what scents would be good for travelling? What would be perfect for exploring a new country? I realize there are palce scents which might fit individual palces, but if you're travelling around?
  18. Ooooh, now I wish I'd ordered both! *looks at empty wallet* Oh well, maybe next week! Bastet is definitely going on the list I keep next to the computer though. It sounds scrumptious! I have some lotion with Amber in it and I use it all the time, so I'm hoping I love these scents just as much. Here's to being hopeful!
  19. Well there seems to be agreement that Bastet is much darker than The Lion. I actually ended up ordering The Lion, and I'm happy with that because it is coming up on summer and I don't want anything too heavy. I also ordered Dorian but I'm not sure it was the right choice. I may just have to fill out another order today! More sophisticated musk & more lemon....they really don't sound that similar now at all! Hmm... Thanks for the advice!
  20. I've been told that Dorian and Antique Lace are really similar...I'm trying to decide which one to get. Any suggestions? Along the same lines for an Amber scenet: The Lion or Bestat?
