I don't know why but on me this one smells a bit beachy in the background with light florals on top.

Very pretty and light. It's not an "In your face" floral (on me that is). If you like Bobbie Brown's "Beach" then you may like this.

Love this one! It reminds me of Midway but much stronger and a bit sweeter. It's a keeper.

I can't pick out any one note in this. All I can say is it's sweet. Wanted to be able to smell the cotton candy & peanuts but nope it ain't happenin.

Bandito is related to Pickled Imp. PI is a bit sweet though.

I like them both.

Someone said Black Pearl smelt like babies to them when I was wearing it, and they meant it in a good way.

 

Lady lilith has a really baby-ish smell to me too, Gladdener also.

I second Gladdener and I also think Milk Moon 05 smells like a baby.

I'm staying at my Mom and Dad's right now and last night a friend of ours came over to visit and she brought her grandbaby Tei (OH MY GOSH CUTE!!!) and he smelled sooooo good! I asked my friend about it and she said it was his baby shampoo but couldn't remember what kind. I'll have to call her and make her look. It was that sweet clean smell almost beachy but not.

In the bottle: Very fizzy smelling. I'm just waiting for the bubbles to hit my nose.

On: I'm not getting any tobacco (that I can tell)

All champagne and bubbly smelling.

I'm almost certain this shares a common note that is in Te Po. Another scent I love.

I can't explain this scent. It has a very mysterious vibe to it. it!!

I wore it up to my Mom's b-day party and when I hugged my Dad he said "Ooh you smell good, what is that?" My husband also like's it. Soooo it's a keeper!

As a newcomer to BPAL, I have made a decision to enable my dear fiancé. He loves Polo by Ralph Lauren, and I found the notes. Someone on this thread said Scarecrow is just like it, but he didn't seem to think the description I read him matched.

 

Here we go (there are LOTS of notes here...):

 

Topnotes: Pine, lavendar, juniper, artemisia, bergamot, cumin, basil.

 

Middle notes: Coriander, marjoram, jasmin, carnation, geranium, thyme, & rose

 

Base notes: Oakmoss, patchouli, leather, cedar, amber, musk, frankinsense

 

(I figure if he finds something he likes, he can order a 5 ml bottle and I can get the imps! MWA HAHAHAHA)

 

He liked that it smelled "outdoorsy." I have imps of Bewitched and The Jersey Devil, which he was kind of meh on.

 

I was going to comb through the BPAL website and get a list of oils with each ingredient and figure something out, but thought I could benefit greatly from your sage advice.

Try to track down a "aged" decant of Banana Peel in a Graveyard. I tried my aged decant the other day and it smelled just like Polo (on me). My husband also wears Polo so I compared it to his bottle and was really surprised.

Have you tried Tombstone? That one turns into a fab vanilla on my skin.

Someone sent me a decant of Banana Peel in a Graveyard and when I first tried it on the banana lasted all of 1 min but 4 or so months later as it aged the banana has staying power. It reminds me of Polo (the original green bottle).

There is another thread, 'What is your favorite label?' and someone said that there is a little hidden picture of Alice in the GC Alice label. We need a picture of that, if anyone has it1

 

 

You're right! I've never noticed before, but there is definitely something different with the Alice label. Side by side with another GC label, you can see there is something on Alice that is not on the other GC labels.

Yes at first it smells exactly like Coppertone..but I would say that part fades pretty quickly on me. Maybe I'll just have to break down and buy the lotion and slather that on and then the perfume. LOVE that stuff!

Yeah, layering the lotion with the fume makes it last a long time. Actually, the lotion maybe just enough for you (without the fume). The lotion is really strong on me.
