  1. The only bpal that smelled really popcorn-y to me was Shill, but my bottles of that haven't aged well at all :( it smells like weird, fruity chemical smell with a hint of butter on me now.

Really? That's weird, mine smells just like it did the day I bought it. I wonder why? I also heard the same thing about Strawberry Moon (original) but again mine still smells the same.

  2. Although popcorn isn't listed in the notes, there is a popcorn note in The Elephantine Colossus. I just tested it now, and there's definitely a kettle-corn in here. :D

Seaside hanky panky: a strumpet’s red musk with a merry splash of root beer, a swirl of exotic pipeweed, and a whiff of sweets carrying over from the boardwalk.

I definitely got a popcorn note in E. Colossus as well.

Boo didn't smell like it on me, but others have gotten a buttered popcorn vibe from it I believe.

I agree on E. Colossus and the popcorn note. Boo smells all buttery on me but no popcorn note. I have Shill and also the Shill proto. The Shill proto has no detectable popcorn note to my nose. YMMV. I get a beachy smell from the proto.

If your looking for a straight up popcorn scent Shill is what you want. It would be worthwhile posting a ISO in the wanted section.

  3. Sniffing the bottle I get grass and dirt. Tested just a tiny bit and WHOA! Leather leather leather. It's pretty and unique but not a "me" scent. I like my leather as a background note only. No crushed lemon candy.

This would smell great on a guy if leather is your thing.

  4. This is the only proto I asked my pick-up angel to get me. The name intrigued me and I have always loved the hand made Madame Talbot Plague Doctor doll that the Lab has sitting out at the shows (as seen in pictures).

I'm really stumped as to specific notes in this one. I do get something herbal and green with maybe just a touch of spices. Maybe a touch of leather. It's very well blended.

When I opened the bottle my husband was 2 feet away and he said "ewww I don't like that one"

Without him knowing it I tested it and after the dry down I stuck my wrist under his nose and he was like "Oh now I like that one" I was like "well it's the ewww one"

He really liked the drydown (which didn't take long). I have found it's always best to skin test and this experience just proved it. :)

Will be hanging onto this one and see how it ages.

Much :love!: to my pick-up

ETA: If you like Planting Moon you'll like this.

  5. Lovely, just lovely!! I  this one. I'm not getting the Antique Lace vibe from it like the other reviews. What I get is Tonka. It really reminds me of a cross between Liz (not as harsh) and CC Female.

Very soft and very beautiful. Nothing foody about it. :wub2:

ETA: Thanks Scrappy for the tester. :)

ETA2: OK almost 4 hours on the skin and this is still going strong. It has not changed one bit from application. I did fail in sayin this can be worn by a man because it leans to the male side (maybe that's why it's called Elf). After wearing CC Female on the other arm I can tell them apart. CCF is more girly so I'm back to Liz. It has to do with the tonka that's for sure. Liz was way too perfumy on me where as Elf is soft. Anyway I'm still in love with it.

  6.

ooh thanks!! Oh how I wish they would have matched last years labels but since I only want one of them it'll have to do. ;)

The Womb Furie Labels are f'n funny. My mind was in the gutter when I saw the first label then saw the second label and it was a toothbrush.

  7. When I first put this on it screams "sharp & perfumy", same as Black Lace on me. However after a minute that settles down and I'm getting a sweet sexy smell ... love the fruits and the red musk behaves. This is a winner for me (unlike Black Lace)! I'm sure I'll kick myself later for not buying two bottles. Moved to my top 10.

  8. Oooh this is a tough one but I  it!!! The Champagne is like the note from last years New Year blends but softer and not as in your face. I really can't decide if the other notes are Cake, Sugar Cookie (like SC 05) or maybe Key Lime Sugar Cookies (like Mr Nancy is on me). Love this blend and so glad I had a sweet angel to pick up a bottle for me.

  9. I've been wearing this as a perfume oil and it has been bothering me because I couldn't place this scent UNTIL NOW ... so I grabbed my bottle of Giant Vulva and yep sure enough it smells just like it. So if you like GV then you will love this!!

    Slightly blurry Herr Drosselmeyer 2010.

Any other 2010 Yule bottle pictures yet? I'm curious!

Oh that's a cool looking label! Sadly Herr Dross never worked for me ... it was pure BO and I'd never experianced that before with a perfume. yuck!

I hope more people post label pics. I love looking at them.

  11. Question about an old label: I have an amber bottle with the older style black label with a blue border. Any ideas what year that is?

Which scent is it? Are you talking about a GC?

    Defututa, GC.

I have a lot of GC's from 06 and beyond and they are all amber bottles. Not sure when the lab switched over though.
