    Black Lotus

OK this is the first time that myrrh did not send me running. Perhaps there is just not that much of it. Anyhoo.... this was lotus from start to finish, in varying degrees. When wet, the flower note is intense and sharp. And completely dried down, its there but in a muted powdery form. Will I wear this Imp out? No, I'll share with others but it is a lovely scent.

In the Imp: almonds, oh yeah Wet at first: Almonds. Then lilies/jasmine. Half-wet: Oh yeah! My friend bergamot is here! B and I are bestest buds! Almond is practically gone at this point, and it's only been 10 minutes. 5 minutes later - a hint of cinnamon! This is definitely a surprising morpher of a scent! 5 minutes later - the incense - this is a SUBTLE version of Hot Topic on a good day ( I mean that with absolute sincerity and truth! Take the usual HT incense fragrance and mute it down.... it's nice!) 5 min late - FIG Dry down result - I'm not sure. Everything I was really liking is gone. I might try it again another day, but I think I will swap this one.

    Pannychis

In the imp: I detect the frankincense and moonflower more than anything. Wet: Immediately I get jasmine and ylang ylang. I am one of those rare folks who CAN wear these notes! I am so happy this is working so far. (oops, accidentally got too much on me... one of my cats won't come near me!) Semi-wet: eew. what am I getting? I'll wait and see. Dry: Ok I hate to admit it - this is a first for me. It's too jasminey. sad. I wish the moonflower and frankincense would come back!

    Arcana

The essence of magickal enigmas and long-forgotten esoteric mysteries. Frankincense, rosemary, lavender, neroli, and lemon verbena. In the imp: I mostly the lavendar and neroli. Wet: Screaming neroli and I love it! Ooh, here comes the rosemary. Ooh, now the rosemary is gone.... Semi-wet: ah, here comes the verbena. I'm not sure that I enjoy smelling lemony, however I could enjoy this as a body-wash fragrance or perhaps used as room fragrance. Dry down: Rosemary is coming back and the frankincense is saying hello. Lavender is also coming back. Elizabeth does have the talent for creating scents that ebb and flow. The verbena is no longer screaming. Ok not a skin scent for me. But I might use it to fragrance a salt bath.

NOW I know why I could not wear Loviatar: THE MYRRH!! This was a frimp from Elizabeth... so I will be sending this onto another soul. But now I know if I see myrrh? NO WAY! The scent of it on my skin is nauseating like dusty dirty darkness.

    Lyonesse

Well it's been on me 30 minutes and it's almost undetectable now. All I've got left is warm vanilla and the slightest hint of amber. Not a "wearing" fragrance for me, HOWEVER this is a DEFINITE "into the bath-water" scent. This will make a GREAT bubble bath scent!!! (ps - another good one? Surprise - OLD SCRATCH)

    Marquise de Merteuil

In The Imp: Peaches! Like a peach liquor placed in front of a lovely bouquet of summer flowers! I hope this works on me - I WANT it to work on me ( me = not such great luck with florals/fruities) On Me Wet: Mmmmmm some amber peaking thru. OOOO there is an old-skool parfum by Rochas called "Femme", which my mother has worn on and off since the dawn of time. It smells a LOT like that! Vetiver can be a sexy bitch, and she's doing a GREAT job of that! Dry-Down Over Three Hours: Truly I love this one. Truly. The similarity to my mother's parfum faded, and I am left with this resinous warm soft amber that makes me wanna don a lovely Cashmere sweater, pearls, neat up-do and classic makeup: this is ALL WOMAN. Not hardcore lusty sex beast. This is ALL LADY, ALL WOMAN, 100% CLASS ... but of course I'd still like some action

    Hecate

In the imp: Smoky almonds. Dark and Intense On me Wet: Pure Almond Joy. Within 30 seconds, the musk is right there! Three minutes later, the myrrh comes to the forefront, leaving the almond and musk behind. 30 minutes: I cannot identify what I am sensing. It must be the dark musk. Ah yes it is. And a hint of baby powder too. Musk always gets powdery on me, but in a GOOD way. Can sense no almond at this point; it's as though it's melded into my skin. 45 minutes: why am I smelling lemon? 1 hour: the lemon went away. I"m thinking of adding a few drops to some unscented lotion. THAT would be best for me, but just not as a out-n-out Parfum.

    Midnight

In the bottle: Sweet floral but not heady. I cannot pick out any individual note, but then again I am not a floral-expert! On me wet: Sharp, pepper-like!, green smells, with a hint of silver. Something very poignant, like it's trying to tell me something. There's a hint of "childhood fragrance" here but I cannot identify it. After 30 minutes: a medicinal headachey fragrance on me now. POO! I should remember that I am better with florals that have an oriental base to them!!

    Bien Loin D'Ici

In The Bottle: I get this wonderful spicy, acidic citrusy SPRINGTIME note! On me wet: Still this undefineable citrus hit, plus baby powder and spices. Very spicy, in a way that makes me wanna bellydance. (OR at least have the costume!) The honey hasn't hit yet. But I'm liking it. Dry: The musk is strong at first, palpable, but within 20 minutes has mellowed and the honey/caramel take over. After 30 minutes: the throw is minimal on me. And yet I am still entranced. This is the kind of fragrance that were I dancing or creating body heat, it would be VERY powerful. 1 hour: This is starting to smell like my step-grandma, who was a hag. How can something so nice end up SO BAD??? Oh well :-(

    Love Me

I received this as a "bonus imp" from Beth. Loved how it smelled.... However - - - 5 minutes after I put it on in the crooks of my elbows, I noticed a burning sensation. I took off my shirt. HUGE red splotches! Washed that off in a jiffy! I wonder if it's the cinnamon to which everyone refers? OH well - I'll trade this one off.

    Urania

My most favorite room scent oil. Ever. Period. It smells clean, sophisticated, like *I* must smell that way for my apartment to smell THAT GOOD. This WILL be a bottle, so I can use it liberally in lamp rings. Right now, I'm just brushing a bit with a Qtip along the screens of the windows and in the grates of my fan. I would never want to wear this - I want to LIVE in this smell.

    Hunger

Everyone is mentioning the creamsicles and so on. I never once got a hit of that. This stuff becomes SOOO overwhelming on me, I ended up with a headache and having to change my clothing! Could it be the narcissus or the orange blossoms? Vanilla does not bother me. BUT - and this is the kicker - this smells FABULOUS as spritzer for my shower! Seriously - I spray it on the walls, then the steam and splashing water move the scent around. Funny that... I can see how this would be great for some folks, but it just didn't like my chemistry.

    O

In the imp: All honey, all the time. Wet on skin: Honey, with a sharpness that intrigues, that gets your attention. Don't get the vanilla quite yet. Dry: Powder, warm, yummy, bit'o'honey left over, vanilla comes and goes. You pretty much want to eat yourself. Or... have someone do it for you. HOWEVER ( and I state this carefully after many test-trials) for my money, I'll go with La Petite Mort. Do I dislike O? HECK NO! I still have remnants of it on my black leather jacket and I sniff the collar as I drive to work. But if I had to pick..... would be La Petite Mort.
