    Jack

Jack is a spicy pumpkin scent from what I've been told, but the mere hint of spices seems overshadowed by the thick buttery note that seems to like my skin. Sadness.

    Nocnitsa

I can't shake from my nose that this smells like fruity upturned earth. And I was intriqued because fruit + anything seems to smell good enough to me so I hurriedly put it on. From wet to dry it was a bit too green for my tastes, dirt notes don't do too well upon me.

    Zephyr

Oh a frimp that I've wanted to try, thanks Labbies! Sweet clean lemonly floral, nothing too surprising upon my skin. It reminds me of a more lemony Kumiho. I will pass along my imp to someone that will like it more.

    Aureus

From the imp it really does smell like golden light, and something kind of like peanut butter? That might be ceder, I recognize that note in Mandrake. Upon me it's amber, amber and more amber with a smidge of pathchoulli. This is Aureus and not amber single note so I have to pass my imp along.

    Nuit

I love the concept of this one and something I would of not chosen for myself at all but thanks for the frimps via the labbies! This is a very traditional perfume with a very slight tinge of incense. It is fleeting like the night because upon my skin it was the same way. I wish it would of developed more.

    The Caterpillar

It was a nonsurprising floral upon myself with the sharpness of the velivert just adding an uneasiness. Not for me I'll be passing the imp along.

    Oneiroi

It's such a pretty blend, spicy lavender with a subtle greeness that soothes and relaxes me. I accidently spilt some upon our nightstand too and it smells great upon furniture too! Unfortunately I had no changes when I wore it with my dreaming or rem sleeps so I will passing my imp along to a better home.

    Spellbound

Spellbound and I were not meant to be because a lot of Beth's rose blends tend to go all soapy with me and golden amber tends to amp so I had amped ambery soap. Not for me, off to the swaps.

    Saint-Germain

This is definately a very masculine scent, a nice amount of lavender just to give the other notes a clean musky feeling. A bit too strong for me.

    Kitsune-Tsuki

It's sparkling pretty and sweet with enough musk to keep it from getting overly sick and sticky. It's refreshing and I can appreciate the sentiment behind it but it doesn't do anything remarkable to my skin, hopefully someone will appreciate it more.

    Zombi

Wow is that really a dirt note? Beth sure has nailed it spot on and I've never really smelled anything like it before. The glowing reviews was enough for me to try the imp as one of my first imp packs! Sadly after putting it on it turned into pretty rose soap with the dirt note fading over all. I had really high hopes for it. Oh well.

    Obatala

Pure coconut tends to make me sick to my stomach, so imagine my surprise that this didn't do that and still smelled amazing! Obatala is a clean freshing milky coconut, this does smell like sun tan lotion at first but then the coolness of water adds to the depth. Sadly it fades after awhile. I suspect this would be good as a room fragrence as well.

    The Hamptons

Wow, this is spot on! I had no idea that bpal made a fragrence like this so imagine my surprise when I received this as a frimp. I have fond memories as Cosmos because when I first turned 21, that was my drink of choice. And boy does this scent have it spot on! The fruityness with a clear alcohal twinge, I can't say which berry is in it but it feels like raspberry, cherry and some orange! The scent fades over time but it's very refreshing. A good scent for the summer time but I wish it would of stayed longer.

    Black Opal

There's vanilla in here? There's coconut? Black Opal is strange because I can't seem to smell anything when I put it on. There is a flash of something smooth and vanilla with a hint of cremey florals but it disappears in just a few minutes. How odd!

    The Black Tower

This is a very complicated scent that lasts! At first it's all leather and wine but that stage doesn't last very long as it melds into a deep sensual incense. The notes are hard to pick out. It sticks close to the skin and lasts.

    Imp

Fruits tend to do really well upon my skin and I have no problem with Patchoulli so I had high hopes for this one. Everything started off well from wet to dry, a very earthy fruit. It had wafts of deep earthyness with the subtleness of the peach. If there was amber, I didn't see it. Nothing really remarkable upon my skin.

    Mandrake

From imp to vial it was mostly dark dirty ceder scent. It never changed much from wet to dry, abit dry it was a bit lighter but never once lacking the depth from the ceder. A bit too strong for me.

    Sacred Whore of Babylon

A beautifully dried honeyed sweet florals with a hint of spice, nothing really eventful upon my skin. I had such high hopes forf it.

    Lear

Lear is a very woodsy, clear and clean scent. There is a hint of alchohal that melds beautifully as it dries. Not the scent for me, but I think it would smell wonderful upon a guy.

    Hurricane

I was looking forward to the sharp chinese rains as ozones tend to get along quite well with my skin but like always the sharpness of the velvetier kills the blend for me. Can't win them all I guess. I /really/ wanted to like this one too. If vetivert gets along with your skin, I would think with the ozone it would highten the sweet musks giving it a swept away feeling in the blend.

    Versailles

Versailles was a frimp given to me by the lab and I was surprised. I went to the city before and by looking at the notes it gives the golden city a nice ring to it with all the gold and poshness hidden there in! But like the walks to visit everything, at the beginning it's just raring to go and behaving (yum with the musks and the citrus!) but by the end of the day your feet are just too sore to know what to do anymore (the florals go soapy! cry!) It does have a nice posh french feeling to it and I think it would do well in a room burner.

    Lyonesse

This is a warm golden scent as many have said before, with a faint ozoney aquatic hint to it. The vanilla and musk dominate here but not in the same way that other blends may propose, other that it helps to smooth out the other notes. It has an etheral quality that matches the legend attached to it! Bravo Labbies.

    Gypsy Queen

Usually spicy anything doesn't work upon me but when when I saw the description for Gypsy Queen, I just thought I'd try it because it reminded me of a roleplay character I have played on and off for about a few years *dork* So imagine my surprise when I got this super sweet sexy purple feeling incense! It lasts for a long time and in it I feel powerful. I can't recognize many of the notes and somehow there seems to be a hint of plum to it in my nose! Overall a very nice scent that is perfect for many party occasions or intimate encounters.

    Midway

I bought this bottle when the Carnival Noir was revisited. I knew it would be one that I would love for quite a long time! When I got it, it was stronger of funnel cake and sweet taffy vanilla. There was a hint of butter and just the barest breath of salt held the scent together. I opened it again about 4 months later after giving turns with all my latest loves and it had turned /better/. The salt is more prominent now giving a spidery web of vanilla and taffy smells held together in an interlocking fragrence. It's perfect and oh so comforting vanilla that reminds me of Antique lace without the flowery edge. If you didn't care for Midway in the beginning, try it again later and you may find yourself surprised when it's aged! ADDED 2/18/10: If I've reviewed this before, let my analysis of this be one that has been aged for about 3 years or so. (My bottle now is nearing 5 years..) There is no subtly between the different confections, it's a very mellow salted vanilla BUT it's good. Kind of reminds me of antique lace except the billowiness of the vanilla to be replaced with a salted proportion. Very nice either way.

    Hungry Ghost Moon 2006

From the bottle it's very sweet smelling musk and greenish feeling. The grapefruit is very dominate as well with the hint of the woods just barely in the background. Upon the skin it's the same clean sweet smell with a largely grapefruit smell and then it settles down into a very hazy vanilla with a hint of ginger. It's nothing that I've ever smelled before and very unique. A+ with this one.
