  1. woohoo! *ahem*

ok, it smells like carrots in the bottle. i'm not nuts, i swear, my husband thinks so too. but it changes quickly to musk and marine scents and just a teeny bit of lime. I don't get leather thank god (it's yucky on me) but it might just be way in the background w/ the woods sort of "grounding" the scent. I also get a slight hint of some floral there at the end of dry-down, but i have no idea why since i don't think there should be any florals.

  2. Winner! It's kind of marine/ozone at first and what i guess is lime but smells more delicate like yuzu to me. It actually gets a slightly deeper, spicy/inscency note later on that makes it really interesting a full bodied. plus the bottle art ROCKS!

  3. lovely scent, unlike Drink Me i don't get that super sweet burnt note - i do get the yellow cake though, it's quite delicate (not a ton of throw on me) but long lasting and wonderfully luscious. a simple scent really, the berry note is in the background where it just ads a touch of interest. I'll be getting a bottle of this!

  4. very very sweet, sadly it turns horribly sweetly burnt on me and once that burnt sweetness comes out i can't smell anything else (the same note is in Crumpet and Sugar skull), but before it goes nuts on me, in the bottle, it smells a bit like Crumpet Rebellion - so take not if you love that blend.

  5. Wistful and vulnerable: lotus, water blossom ivy, stargazer lily and white rose.

Camay soap. I get a soapy, watery floral. The floral is not as stong a rose as i expected, the other florals are nicely blended, but i'm afraid something in there gives the floral a creamy and soapy taint.

  6. Wet: MINT.

    Dry: MINT.

Get it? it's super duper minty, with maybe a hint of herbal in the background ... it's hard to say since my sinuses just totally cleared from all of the MINT. The herbal/powdery notes come out a tiny bit later as it dries down but they are pretty much beaten into submission my the megaton of MINT so that isn't saying much.

  7. totally and utterly chocolate! This is abouut as close to the wonderful chocolate brownie scent that is Mitzvah as another BPAL scent gets ... and it's a GC! there is much rejoicing. Rich, dark chocolate with maybe a hint of almonds? final thought = yum.

  8. i think this scent is the non-floral lover's scent :P Because the floral aspect is so nicely complementary to the other notes that you barely notice that it's floral. the pear is wonderful green and bright, with just a touch of sweetness. This is bright and lovely, and possibly a less floral cousin of Amsterdam. delightful! the sweetness of the pear comes out more during the dry-down phase.

  9. Yup, it's wood alright. It's not a "green" sort of wood, it's an old wood sort of smell, possibly even rotted woodland wood ... but that's not bad! it's an outdoorsy sce=nt to me, like the woods in wintertime before the snows. I don't get any cherry beyond the very wet stage, just glorious dark rich wood.

  10. Well get this if you love Linden, since that's mostly what i smell. Actually is smells kind of like fresh clean laundry would smell like if you let it dry in a field of herbs and wildflowers. Very clean and fresh floral with a touch of herbs similar to those in Ides of March.

  11. odd reviewing single-notes ... what do you say "smells like apricot"? Well it does, out of the imp it smells like cough syryp. Wet, it's very sweet, a bit tangy and very much like dried apricots, it gets a bit less sweet with wear. In the scent family i'd say it's close to Georgia Peach.

  12. Citrusy, green, and the floral par is all magnolia (though overwhelmed by the citrusy part i think). There is a touch of the booze that you get in roadhouse but with less green and bitterness, the floral here makes it sweeter. It's strong and citrusy at first, but gets sweeter and more floral as it dries down. there is also a hint of something that is almost cinnamony-spicy, and i think it's the bay rum :P

  13. One of my all-time favorite scents (why is it i never reviewed this before?), and an absolute treasure in the GC catalog. Dandelion, greens and something just slightly bitter and sweet. It's like Enraged Bunny Musk without the powdery sweetness, or the green component in Two, Five and Seven.

It doesn't morph much, except to sweeten up a bit. It lasts and lasts. It's hard to describe, smell it for yourself! I actually didn't like this one in the imp, i had to try it on my skin to fall in love with it. ROADHOUSE ROCKS \m/

  14. Sweet, sweet, sweet rose. Very essentially rose, but somehow not as hit-you-in-the-face rose as Rose Red is ... this is sweeter and it does have a touch of greenery later one. This maintains the rose scent for a long time, but eventually turns just a bit bubble-gummy ... which is not bad at all!

  15. I'm shocked that there is no lemongrass in this, i could have sworn there was some sort of citrus here. The white tea is probably what i'm smelling (Kumiho actually reminds me of Snow Angel without the snow). Not sure about the ginger really, it smells more like fresh ginger than the spicy ginger i expected. A totally wonderful and clean scent ... though it smells citrusy lemony to me more than anything.

  16. I tested the 2005 version. WOAH is this strong, it's a very clean, strong and green sappy pine, but maybe with a touch of snow. As if you just brough a fresh x-mas tree into the house and it still had a little bit of snow stuck to the branches. beautiful, perfect scent, it's JUST like a fresh sappy x-mas tree.

  17. supposed to be "Nutmeg, sassafras, black poppy and myrrh" ... on me it smells like ben-gay. ::makes face::

I'm not sure what made it smell ike ben-gay, maybe the sassafras? IT's hard to say since i don't know what that is, but something in there is STRONG and that's what i'm betting the culprit is.

  18. I never ever thought i would love this (look at the notes O_O ick!) until i randomly tried a frimp ... and loved it/ the ultimate scent for fall/Halloween, smokey and leafy, dark and mysterious. the anise makes it almost spicy/peppery in the way that October and La Mort Qui Dance are (totally different notes in those, but aq similar *feel* somehow). Anyway, give Annis a shot, you might be surprised!

  19. I got a decant of the '07 version to try since i recall not liking the '06 version ... and the '07 version is just like the '06 unfortunately. Burnt sugar with a sort of heavy dark maple in the background. Too heavy and sharp for me.

  20. Really sugary Snake Oil. It's a "heavy" scent, really sexy and wonderful. I think i smell the "burnt caramel" smell that i get in sugar Skull and Creepy so if you like those two i'd give this one a try. I only have a 1/4 imp so i'm glad i didn't fall in love with it!

  21. it's something like Nuclear Winter and Door13. The ozone is strong with this one (as always, ozone smells citrusy i think, a good citrus-like scent for people that don't like lemons), very slightly minty, just enough to tickle your sinuses a bit. it does smell a little bit cologn-y like most ozone scents tend to, but it's really clean and fresh and (if i may be a bit evocative) a little sad.
