    Swank

My first impression is BUBBLY! Yes, it smells like a bubbly pomegranate. I can just picture it in my head, a nice red, bubbly, but not necessarily boozy, pomegranate drink. As it dries a bit more on my skin, I'm starting to smell more of the "boozy" note, but it's very interesting to me. There was a spray at Bath and Body Works a few years ago that I loved that was "pomegranate martini" but it smelled more like "fruit punch" than actual pomegranate. Swank is much truer to the image of "pomegranate martini". I like it a lot. The imp will definitely get used up, I might even buy a bottle!

    Snake Oil

Finally decided to take the plunge and try good old Snake Oil. It's an interesting scent. On my skin, it starts off spicy and incensey, with just an undercurrent of something sweet. As it drys down, the vanilla comes out and it's got something darker still lurking in the background. It's just a little bit sugary. I don't usually dig scents like this, I'm a floral and fruit lover, but it's an interesting change from what I normally like to wear. Will keep the imp, might even try aging it to see what happens. I'll probably end up adding to this review in a few months! Edit: After letting this age for awhile, I realize it's not me... But my mom really likes it!

When your favorite GC blends are discontinued

Well, I checked the review on that one and someone else agrees with you. Time to add it to my list!
  4. Kind of an old bump but I was wondering if anyone could recommend a BPAL similar to "Blushing Cherry Blossom" by B&BW. Looks like B&BW discontinued it, it was a scent I got a lot of compliments on when I'd wear it. Fragrance Top notes: Mandarin, Leafy Green Accord, Sparkling Quince, Lush Berries, Fresh Melon Mid notes: Rose Damascena, Super Hedione (Captive), White Jasmin (Captive), Rose Juliette Greco Base notes: Musk (Captive), Violet, Soft Amber, Creamy Sandalwood.

When your favorite GC blends are discontinued

Thanks for the great suggestions! Actually, Zephyr, Regan, and Megaera are on my "lists of scents to try" but I'm definitely gonna bump them up to the top now. Although, I remember trying Kitsune-Tsuki and it didn't strike me as being all that similar to Queen Mab. Oh, in fact I did review Kitsune-Tsuki! I remember it now, it was very sweet.

When your favorite GC blends are discontinued

Queen Mab was one of my favorite BPALs and since it's been discontinued, I'm hoping someone could point me to some BPALs that are similar. I remember trying Phantom Queen and it had a very similar vibe. Queen Mab always makes me think of light green and gold when I wear it. It's warm, sweet, floral. Phantom Queen makes me think of shades of purple, but it still sort of had a similar "warm" floral feel to it, I think. Any other suggestions?

    Scent Recommendations By Hair Color?

Red head here! My favorite kind of scents are florals and I have a fondness for fruity scents too. I especially love ROSES. My favorite BPALs would be Queen Mab, Viola, Persephone, and Titania, with Queen Mab at number one. I know most people here seem to say when they think red head, they think earthy, resins, woody, and spicy and those tend to be the kinds of things I avoid. I dunno! As a red head, I do have a bit of a temper but it usually takes a lot to set me off. Most of the time, I try to be collected and cheerful.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

I'm looking for a BPAL scent that's similar to "Nina" by Nina Ricci! The notes are: Calabrese Lemon, Cipirinha Lime, Red Toffee Apple, Vanilla Infusion, Moonflower, Peony Petals, Apple Tree Wood, Cotton Musk. I'd describe the scent as fruity, a little foody, and sweet.

    Two, Five & Seven

Smells like fresh, lovely, wonderful, roses! The description is spot on, I can definitely smell a tiny bit of green grass too. It's a bit on the sweet side, it almost has a fruity feel to it. I love it, I have a bottle of it at home.

    Kurukulla

The Tibetan goddess of love and wealth. Her scent is a harmonious, sweet, enchanting blend of three lotus blooms and three roses. Oh, I just love this one. Rosey, sweet, and wonderful. I think the sweetness comes from the lotus. I've noticed other blends with lotus in them tend to have a sweetness to them. It's not exactly a fruity sweetness, I have a hard time describing it. It's very pleasant though. For me, this one has a pretty good throw and it lasts a good amount of time on my skin as well. Rose lovers will enjoy this.

    Viola

I actually found this imp laying around the other day while I was organizing and I'm surprised I never reviewed it! Like it a lot, but not enough to buy a bottle. Maybe just another imp. It's creamy, warm, sort of woody, and floral. I don't get much rose, but I can definitely tell the lilac is there! It's staying power is pretty good, lasts about 3-4 hours on my skin. Edit: I've been wearing this for several days now, and it's really grown on me. Definitely want a bottle of it now. Edit2: I've gotten a new bottle of this, I'm pretty sure the imp I tested was a couple of years old, and the bottle is different than the imp. I'm getting a much more incensey/woody feel and less floral. It's not a radical change and it's still really nice. I'm glad I got my bottle, but I didn't want to mislead anyone with my review! I'm guessing aging this would calm the incense/woody notes down though.

Rose Recommendations - which blend is for me?

Personally, I didn't think Spellbound smelled like roses at all. The scent gave me a huge headache. Persephone and Moonrose are both REALLY beautiful rose scents. Persephone has a pleasant sweetness to it and Moon Rose has a sort of crisp, clean feel to it.

    Skuld

I ordered this because I am a major anime geek and I love Skuld from "Oh! My Goddess" but I was disappointed with this... If I had to describe this scent in one word it would be "pee". In the bottle, on my skin, it doesn't matter. I threw this in one of my dressers for about 6 months with other imps I didn't like and just recently got it out to see if a friend of mine would take some of my other imps off my hands and her reaction to this one? "Smells like pee!" I'm not really sure what notes I find so disagreeable but I'm thinking... Maybe the musk?

    Yerevan

I got this for several reasons... I love pomegranate, I love roses, and orchid seems to work really well on me. When I first open the bottle, I can definitely pick out the pomegranate and plum. After putting it on my skin, there is a subtle kind of spicyness to it as well. The musk is coming up now too. I like this one a lot, a lot more than I expected to. For some reason, there is something about this scent that strikes me as being a bit masculine but at the same time, I think the fruits in this scent would put off a guy from wearing it. Maybe it's just me. My mom thinks it makes me smell like "a nice hippy shop".

    Ophelia

It starts off pretty much all rose on my skin with an undertone of lotus. As the day goes on, it turns pretty much all lotus on me with a slightly watery, almost soapy type of undertone. These types of scents usually give me a headache since they can be a bit sharp but, luckily for me, Ophelia didn't. Very pretty scent, I just wish the rose had stuck around.
  16. Ryokumuji

    Titania

Sweet and floral when I first put it on. Later on throughout the day, it gets more grapey, it reminds me of sparkling grape juice. It's really pretty. As the scent fades, the florals start to come up with the grape. I'm pretty bad at picking out invididual notes, and I don't think my description does this scent justice, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Titania.

    Juliet

Tried this because my middle name is Juliet. When first putting it on, and when it's still in the bottle, it's a juicy, sweet, floral. As it dries down it gets a little more powdery but still sweet. A very nice clean scent. I like it a lot. It's also amazing that others have said this didn't have staying power for them... It's been nearly 12 hours, including a shower, since I've put it on and I can still smell it on my wrists!

    Les Fleurs du Mal

It smells a lot like incense. I can't really detect the "rose base" but I can smell the lilac. I'm not really sure what wisteria smells like though. This scent is powdery but pleasant. In a lot of ways, this scent reminded me of Norturne. I've been looking for a lilac blend that I'd really love but this isn't really my style either. I plan to use up my imp at least.

    Astrology Recommendations

Well... I actually found a website that had fragrances by what your element is, although not specific zodiac sign. http://www.lotuspress.com/auroma/fragrAstro.htm I'm Scorpio sun, Scorpio moon, and Libra rising. I'm still sort of a newbie when it comes to fragrances... I only wore one fragrance in high school but then I discovered Bath and Body Works and then BPAL. My favorite BPALs are Queen Mab, Phantom Queen, Moonrose and Peresphone. My favorite stuff from B&BWs is Cotton Blossom, Japanese Cherry Blossom, White Cherry Blossom, Moonlight Path, Pomegranate Martini, and Exotic Coconut. I think my preferences definitely dip into the "water sign" fragance list more so than the others. I do have a bit of Capricorn and Sagittarius in my chart too.

    Moon Rose

The description is quite accurate here. It's definitely a powdery translucent kind of scent. It's feminine and beautiful. For some reason, something about it reminds me of "Wind Song", which I used to wear during high school. I actually just got up, got my old bottle of Wind Song out and did a compare sniff. There is definitely that powdery note that they both share. As Moon Rose stays on my skin, the less powdery it smells. I'm really starting to get the rose scent now. It truly smells like fresh roses. I'm liking this scent a lot more than I thought I would!

    Alice

I was kind of disappointed about Alice because I don't really smell milk, honey, or rose. It's actually sort of smells like spiced cake (is this the carnations doing?) with an undertone of floral. It's nice but it's not "me".
  22. Ryokumuji

    Kitsune-Tsuki

I don't know what it is about this one that I find so... disagreeable. It smells like a really super sweet flower. I can smell the plum, the musk and daffodil and I'm pretty sure the note I'm not digging is the daffodil. I'm shocked to say this but it's just way too sweet smelling for me.
  23. Ryokumuji

    Phantom Queen

This... is WONDERFUL. !!! It smells very similar to Queen Mab, which I absolutely freaking adore. Also, it smells very similar to a perfume my mother used to wear a lot when I was very young. The thing that makes Phantom Queen so much different from Queen Mab for me is... When I smell Queen Mab, I think of colors like dark green, gold, and white. With Phantom Queen, I think purple and black. I need a big bottle of this scent, for sure!

    Szepasszony

This was a frimp from the lab. I'm not sure if I would have tried this scent right away otherwise but I like it. My sister thinks it smells like bubble gum. It's got a sweetness to it but I wouldn't call it bubble gum. To me, it smells just like the description... Wind, rain, and white flowers. It's sweet but clean.
  25. Ryokumuji

    Spellbound

This scent made gave me a terrible headache. I can't really smell roses at all, I kinda smell the musk, so maybe it's the amber that's giving me the headache? I'm not sure what to say about this one other than I don't like it.
