    Black Licorice Smut

Oh my! The scent of a mouthful of black jelly beans (I love 'em) and Smut is the combination I never knew I needed. The licorice keeps Smut from wafting it's usual dirty "after sex" smell on me and keeps it a more traditional musk (is that a thing?) This one is truly bottle-worthy. Long lasting and has good throw, the way I like it!

    Dead Leaves and Black Licorice

Well this is exactly as advertised. Strong black licorice note and dead leaves. I do love the smell of anise, and it goes so well with the dead leaves! Really enjoying this one.

Dead Leaves, White Sandalwood, and Cannabis

This has a bright lemony tinge at first... weird, but I think it is somehow the sharpness of the combo of each of the notes forming a strong top note. It dries down slowly to a more cologne note but still bright, sharp, and lemon. Huh. A rare miss for me! Decant will suffice.

Dead Leaves, White Champa, and Palo Santo

I love the dead leaves and champa notes that Beth uses, but the palo santo comes across as lemony and sharp and overpowers everything. This went straight to my sinuses in a bad way and has hella throw. It's a rare scrubber for me. 😭

    Flickering Lights, Fluttering Curtains

Very lovely vanilla lace, pretty and soft. I too think it's like a gentler Edith Cushing. Stays close to my skin. I think this should be a huge hit.

    Candy Corn Smut

Disclaimer: I don't like candy corn, and I'm a candy junkie. But I recognize the smell. I like Smut, but it isn't one of my top 10 BPALs. To my nose, Smut smells like "after-sex" smell on my skin. However, I get a lot of compliments when I wear it. This perfume has that recognizable sugary sweetness truly mixed into Smut. Hmmm. It fades quickly, and goes plasticky on me at dry down. Glad I got to try it, but I have others I prefer more (Chocolate Smooch Smut, I'm looking at you!)

Dead Leaves, Marshmallow, and Pistachio Cream

This is not what I expected at all! I love the dead leaves scents and have several bottles of them, including the SN: Pile of Fallen Leaves, so I am very familiar with that note (or notes, as there is more than one kind.) This barely registers as a dead leaves scent. It's all creamy pistachio marshmallow, with the barest hint of leaves grounding it. My initial reaction was "mint!... no, soap!.... no, foodie!... no, uhhhh this is lovely!" It is pretty, and feminine, not too sweet, and reminds me of something way back in my memories but I can't figure it out. I keep sniffing my wrist. I want more. I can't wait to slather myself in this.

    Chocolate Smooch Smut

Initial reaction: 🤤 The scent of melty fudge. Oh so good. Then, oh hai there's the Smut! The chocolate fades quickly on the dry down, and the whole thing blurs into a musky deliciousness. I only got a decant because my husband detests chocolate scents and he never complains about my BPAL. In all honesty, while this is gorgeous, I wouldn't wear it enough for a bottle. I enjoy getting to sniff this decant but prefer to eat my chocolate than wear it. But if you love to wear chocolate scents, don't miss this one!

Dead Leaves, Tunisian Amber, and Smoked Balsam

That dead leaves note right away, followed by the smoked balsam. I don't really smell the amber, but as soon as this perfume dries down, the individual notes all blend into a warm smoky autumn scent. I like this even better than I expected to!

    Worm Moon 2008

I was gifted a bottle of this, and what a gift! This is my beloved graveyard dirt note with flowers. Zombi is one of my favorite scents and this is a non-rose floral version. I love this and will wear the hell out of it come Spring.

    Dead Leaves on Fire

I love the Dead Leaves scents and I love smokey scents, so this had to be a winner. On my skin, it is exactly as named: the gorgeous dead leaves note that I love with smoke. It's not as dark nor as strong as I would have expected. Actually much lighter, which makes it wearable in more situations. I really like this! I have bottles of SN:Bonfire Smoke and Pile of Fallen Leaves and had never ever even thought of layering them! I'm going to play around with them together, but I know I can't do justice to them the way Beth does. That's why I keep coming back to her creations.

    It Was Just a Cat

Initial application is a burst of dry amber. It dries down quickly to a powdery golden amber, and wears very close to my skin. Smells like my big ginger boy asleep on my lap, keeping me warm. Lovely!.

An Open Grave Underneath the Heavy Leaves

Sweet grassy herbs. A hint of spearmint. Fresh and lovely. Unexpected from the name. I would wear this in the Spring.

    Sinister Groundskeeper

Initially the graveyard dirt note, but not as green as in Zombi or SN Graveyard Dirt. The clove doesn't amp like it usually does on my skin; rather it clings to the dirt and deepens it, giving almost a black pepper hint. I don't get dandelions but after dry down I can tell there is just the slightest drop of blood. Lovely variation on a dirt scent!

    Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Buns

Cinnamon buns with a hint of pumpkin spice, as if it was barely dribbled over them as icing. Fades quickly on my skin. Nice, and would be good for those who usually find Beth's pumpkin spice too overpowering.

    Druid

I applied without rereading the notes. Initially, I get that gorgeous soil note I love! As it dries down, this is a lovely dark green forest. A bit of an herbal note, then a whiff of a not quite menthol that quickly dissipates. An hour later, this is a gentle, close to the skin musky forest. Lovely.

A Cozy Sweater and an Apple Cider

My first reaction- fuzzy wool sweater! How does she do it?! This stays close to my skin and smells so good. I can find the apple cider if I think about it, but if I didn't know it was there, I wouldn't identify it. It's as if I spilled some cider on the table and accidentally got it on the cuff of my fuzzy wool sweater. I blotted it and let it dry. That slight hint of cider embedded into the cuff of my wool sweater after it dried, and I'm not going to send it for dry cleaning just because of this- that's this scent. Lovely.

    Pumpkin Booze

Oh!! This is a very realistic bourbon old fashioned with a touch of pumpkin spice syrup. The booze note is very strong at first, just like that first sip of my favorite cocktail. Then it becomes smoother and more wearable. After an hour, I'm left with a gorgeous autumnal blend on my wrist, where all the notes have mellowed and blended together like my mood after a couple of old fashioneds. Lovely!

    Pumpkin Doob

Wow, I thought that Blacklight Reactive Poster had the strongest weed note ever. I was wrong. Pumpkin Doob opens with a bitter, green stench of weed. Super realistic. Then the pumpkin spice shows up, and slaps the weed down into herbal territory. An hour later, I can barely smell this on my wrist. Huh. Did not expect that. And I didn't even feel the need for snacks.

    Shadows and Light

This is a lovely, smoky musk. I get the references to golden champa, as the smoke note is similar. There is the barest hint of lavender. Stays close to my skin. This is lovely and I can't stop sniffing my arm.

La Roue de Malheur Hair Gloss

There is nothing sweet in this hair gloss. And considering I always amp red musk, I'm shocked that I barely even detect red musk. It is there, but well hidden by dry dark notes that are all blended together: the oud and tobacco in particular. This is crazy- I cannot separate the other notes and find them! It's all a whirl of dark, dry, inky black smells. The name translates to "The Wheel of Misfortune" and that is exactly what this smells like! A dark, whirling wheel around my head, in my hair, of unsettling notes that come together beautifully. I'm so glad that I blind bought a bottle! 1/16 after wearing this, I've decided that I prefer to use it as a body spray than in my hair. On my skin, the red musk is more detectable. It's still dark, and a resinous inky red scent.

    Gingerbread Snake

How is it possible that I never reviewed this?! I have three bottles of it, for pete's sake, and I wear it a lot through November and December and January! So I love Snake Oil and many but not all of its variants. The addition of gingerbread is makes this one of, if not THE, most favorite variant in my collection. There's not much to say... the Snake Oil is recognizable, and the addition of a sweet gingerbread just makes it a beautiful variant. Love love love this!

    Euterpe’s Ukulele

I always love Beth's plum note! I was gifted a bottle of this from a friend, and it is so lovely. Upon application, it is a very strong plum, but not foodie, with the osmanthus mingling and giving it a white floral note that is reminiscent of lilies of the valley! It stays this way for quite a long while on my skin. I love patchouli and oudh, but they are hiding here. About 30 minutes later, the stronger white floral has left and the plum has now darkened a bit. Lovely floral scent that patchouli haters shouldn't be afraid of. Lasts forever on me. When applied at bedtime I can still smell it in the morning.

    Egg Nog Bath Oil

EGG NOG Sweet brandy, dark rum, heavy cream, sugar, and a dash of nutmeg. Note: I use the bath oils as an after-shower moisturizer, so have not tested this in the tub. The consistency and texture of the bath oils is just wonderful and the oil goes on smoothly and sinks into my skin without making me greasy. I bought both the Egg Nog perfume and the bath oil this year, and I have to say that I greatly prefer the bath oil. The reason is that it is a little more spicy and the scent lingers longer. It smells exactly like Egg Nog, and is not plasticky on my skin, nor is the cream sour. For some reason I get a similarity to Glowing Vulva bath oil, but without the spices. Maybe it's the cream note that reminds me of GV. In any case, I really love this and plan to order a backup bottle. This will also layer well with other perfumes containing a cream note, without overpowering them. I think this Egg Nog is very wearable on its own as a scent.

    Pumpkin Patch V (2005, 2006)

2005 version that I apparently never reviewed. I just reached for this and my bottle is almost empty! The horror! 🎃 So, I love Beth's pumpkin scents and have amassed several bottles and a few backups of my favorites over the years. This one is dry pumpkin with ivy and woods. Not a pumpkin spice blend. Different than what I usually reach for in pumpkin scents, and yet my bottle has been mysteriously drained. Guess I liked this one more than I thought!
