    Luna Sanguinem Bath Oil

I am sooo happy that this works for me! Unfortunately, I had very bad luck with the Luna Sanguinem perfume on my skin , but this has fewer notes, and maybe that helped. This is a lovely soft rose, and that alone is saying a lot, because I usually don't wear or care for rose notes. But the rose is very pretty, not soapy, and softened with the vanilla and the other notes. The frankincense is just present enough to ground the rose, but is not smoky like it can often become. This makes a lovely hand-scent/moisturizer. I've been keeping a bottle in my desk for that purpose, and it's very work-safe, pretty, and feminine, but not too out of my comfort zone. Still "feels" like my BPTP/Lab scents, but more accessible to others, if that makes sense.

    Luna Sanguinem

Oh, dear, this is not working out at all. So far, I get an initial burst of red musk (YAY) but then it turns into canned ham smell on my skin. I've tried this several times now, and every single time, nothing but canned ham. WTF! Edited to add: I feel like I needed to revisit this, because there are so many "win" notes here for me that there must have been something wrong with my initial test. I love carnation, I love smoke, so smoky carnation should be awesome. I love red musk, vanilla, tobacco, Peru balsam, and myrrh. But unfortunately I was correct. This turns into a smoky mess in a bad way. When I mentioned "canned ham" it is based on a long-distant childhood memory (do they even make canned ham nowadays? Who knows, who cares?) I wonder if the pimento is melding with the smoky carnation and turning this scent into such a hot mess on my skin. I'm sorry to leave a negative review, and hopefully YMMV. I also rarely have good luck with Lunacy blends, so take that into account as well.

    Lord Leopold's Bedchamber Atmosphere Spray

    My bottle smells like a powdery musk, and so far I get no leather, roses, or opium. It's a very nice scent for my bed linens and I do like it, but it's very gentle and soft. I think I will let this one age a bit and see if the opium comes forward more, since my perfumes with opium notes tend to age into stronger opium. I am happy to have this and will revisit my review in a month or two and see if it has changed;

    Skoocoom House Atmosphere Spray

Skoocoom House spray is just perfect! I've been reading The Wolves in Midwinter by Anne Rice. The main characters in this series are werewolves, not Sasquatch, and the book's setting is northern California. The book's description of the old mansion setting, it's grounds surrounded by forest and the coastline, are exactly what Skoocoom House evokes when sprayed. So happy my pick-up fairy was able to get the bottle for me.. The moss is most present, with a hint of fir, and a gentle sweetness, probably from the flowers (I have no idea what each of them smells like.) This is very refreshing and tragically romantic at the same time.

    Smutty Goblin Hair Gloss

This is definitely nothing like Smut or Goblin. It is a completely different scent of its own. Basically a sugary musk, more than a hint of brown sugar in there. Some of the same sugar in Silkybat, but not a hint of red musk or patchouli. It would be nice but I already have so many other hair glosses that are even better that my decant will suffice. edited 4/10 for updated info: Well this isinteresting. I applied Smutty Goblin this morning ti my dry, day-after-shampooed hair and IT SMELLED LIKE SMUT! Seriously, I could smell the boozey sugary Smut-musk in my hair all day long. Maybe this one needs some aging to become a fabulous Smutty Goblin. Much better than my initial impression.

    Frankincense Clove Hair Gloss

I've been wanting to try this one, and received a decant of this in a swap. Instant love! The clove is present enough to lend a spiciness to the frankincense. I sprayed some into my hair before bed last night, and got wafts of a comforting incense in my dreams. I can still smell it the next afternoon. Same wonderful gloss product, and another scent that I will definitely be adding to my growing hoard of hair gloss bottles. Will layer beautifully with so many scents I own: El Amor y La Muerte, Mort de Cesar, Midnight Mass, and the others already mentioned above.

    Fallen Woman Hair Gloss

When I received my decant, I immediately sprayed it into the ends of my hair and was thrilled. The honey was most prominent, but that's what I expected. Over the course of the evening, however, this morphed in my hair, which I've never experienced with any of my other hair glosses. Unfortunately, it didn't go well for me and I can't figure out why. There are no death-notes here, but this turned into a bad honey scent just like the Horse Chestnut Honey perfume, which turns into funk on my skin. I can't figure it out, but that's what happened. I have plenty of other honey scents from the Lab but that was the only bad one, and now this. I will just stick with my beloved Hair Loosened/Orgies gloss for the perfect honey scent in my hair. edited for typos

The Shining Dimple of Love Bath Oil

I definitely smell the tea first, followed by a softly floral vanilla. Nice enough to use up my decent if warmer weather ever happens here, but I don't need a full bottle.

    Selbstverliebt Bath Oil

Ahhh, I just have to stop ordering scents with jasmine. Haven't found one yet that works for me. This has the same jasmine that I disliked in last year's Quicken the Soul Through the Blood. Bummer.

    Formula 72 Massage Oil

Previous reviewers have pretty much covered it. Very lovely choco-coconut-vanilla blend. For me, it is hard to top Gula bath oil for my chocolate moisturizer, but this decant will be perfect for use as purse-sized hand lotion.

    Trading Post Dungeon Atmosphere Spray

This is an initial blast of a sharp, high-pitched metallic note, followed by leather. I don't really smell the musk. The sharp note reminded me of another atmo spray I have, so I went on a testing spree of my massive atmo spray stash to find it. It is the same note I found in Scrooge's Apartments, which doesn't list a metal note. Hmmm... unfortunately, this is not a hit with me. I am not a big fan of leather notes, but I do have other sprays with leather that I prefer- in particular, Mrs. Palmer's Establishment, which I love.

    Scrooge's Apartments Atmosphere Spray

I never reviewed this, although I've had and used my decant since the original release. This is a cold, but dark scent with a sharp metallic note. Although there is no mention of it in the description, I can easily imagine Marley's chains jangling while Scrooge is sitting there. Very evocative of the scene between them

    The Agricultural Building Atmosphere Spray

I attended C2E2 on Friday last year, and this was already sold out by the time I got to the BPAL booth that day. I didn't bother to sniff the tester that was out, since I didn't want to feel even worse about missing out on all the chocolate goodness. I finally snagged a bottle off Etsy, and yay! I sprayed it in my car on my way to work this morning, and my car smelled delicious. Smells like brownies. Fudge brownies. Very yummy, but not cloying. Also, surprisingly not very long-lasting, at least not compared to some of my other atmo sprays. But I'm very happy to finally have this as another memento of my visit to the Lab's booth.

    Wererat-Infested Sewer

This goblin squirt was a frimp (fquirt?) from Puddin' in my Etsy order, or I admit I would never had tried it. It's green, mossy, and a slight evergreen scent, and I don't detect the leather. Don't let the name put you off from getting this, because it's very nice! I personally prefer Fae Forest for my "green" atmosphere scent, but am happy I got to try this.

Victorian Virgin with Cherubs: Salon Bath Oil

Etsy purchase, tested on my hand straight from the cold porch: WINNING! I was hesitant about ordering this, because of the honeysuckle and hellebore. I read and re-read the reviews, and finally decided to bite the bullet and get it. I am not disappointed. On skin as a moisturizer, the mint is mild, somewhat eucalyptus in style, and I can detect the amber and a slight white chocolate. This is a lovely scent that I will enjoy as a bedtime moisturizer scent. I also think it will layer well with Skadi. Love this!

If your top 5 scents are... Then try these!

I don't really have any requests for recs at the moment, and for some reason, my laptop isn't letting me quote, so hopefully the ones who need to see my recs will see them: If you love Totentanz (as I do), then I highly recommend Dragon's Heart. Dragon's Heart is sweeter than Totentanz, but I just bottle-sniffed them side by side, and they are in the same family for sure. For those who love Womb Furie, Snake Oil, Snake Charmer, definitely give Tombeur a try! I love each one of these in its own way. And seconding/thirding the Banshee Beat/Goblin recs!

    BPTP & BPAL Layering Combos!

Shiny Furball HG with Skadi 2013. Shiny Furball also goes great with Silent Forest bath oil as a moisturizer over Black Forest perfume. Samhain perfume over Luxuria bath oil applied as a moisturizer. I got the idea because on my skin, Witch Dance smells like a heavy red musk version of Samhain. I prefer Amber & Patchoui HG with this combo instead of Silkybat HG but ymmv.

    Imaginer

I'm another reviewer who just had to try this fresh from the cold mailbox, where it sat all day today! So far this is a beautiful honeyed myrrh with honey on top. I can detect a very slight hint of the patchouli and amber, only a hint so far, but enough to deduce that this is going to age into something amazing! It's very pretty right now in fact, a slightly powdery honeyed myrrh, but I prefer to save my honey scents for warmer weather, so at the rate that our weather has been turning from cold to colder with no end in sight, maybe I'll be able to wear it in July. It should be well-aged and even more beautiful by then. It's funny, because I initally experienced some buyer's remorse after I ordered it, but now I'm absolutely thrilled that I snagged two bottles of this when I had the chance!

    Luna Negra 2013

Initially on my wrist, I get a blast of a harsh !LAVENDAR! quickly followed by incense. I detect no specific blackcurrant or amber notes, but this is distinctly "purple" smelling to my nose. The scent doesn't morph on my skin after drydown other than the initial herbal harshness of the lavendar becomes toned down. I really don't detect the cassia, and I usually amp that note. There is no burn, so don't be afraid of this if you tend to get a reaction to cinnamon or cassia. This has a nice long wearability, and after an hour I am getting wafts of dark purple lavendar incense when I move my arm. I really love this, and it's going to be my new bedtime scent. Just beautiful

    Rags to Royalty Bath Oil

Ordered a blind bottle in the hopes that it would complement my La Lugubre Gondola, Hesiod's Phoenix, and Implacable Beautiful Tyrant, and I am not disappointed at all! Tested it by rubbing into my hands as a moisturizer, and initially I get the same patchouli as in my beloved Tricksy, followed by the amber and oudh, with a touch of honey. This is a dry smelling scent to me, more similar to La Lugubre and lacks the sweetness of Hesiod's Phoenix, but it will work perfectly as an after shower moisturizer with both of them. I hope they stay up long enough that I can manage another bottle with my next paycheck, since I didn't get a backup in my usual fashion.
  21. I second this for the house! Hesiod's Phoenix. Oh yeah!!! Hesiod's Phoenix is definitely the one. La Lugubre Gondola is my 2nd choice, but Hesiod's is even closer.

    Skadi

I don't care for ozone, snow notes, or most pine, but I decided to go aheade and order a bottle of Skadi unsniffed, because I decided that I needed a wintery scent anyway, and it came with such raves. I am very glad that I got this. It is exactly as described, a wintery pine with berries, and smells just like Christmas should smell. It is also very long-lasting... dries down to a slightly musky winterberry scent. Very very nice, and unlike anything else I own. I won't wear it often, but I will absolutely enjoy wearing it during the holiday season and am so glad that I bought it!

Black Pomegranate and Blackcurrant Atmosphere Spray

Tart, fruity, and an absolutely lovely fragrance that "feels" like the holidays without being cloying, foody, or resiny. Smells absolutely wonderful when sprayed in my office and has garnered many compliments! This is really nice and should get a lot more attention than it seems to have done so far.

    Totentanz

One of my all-time favorite scents from the GC is Blood, so with the notes described in Totentanz, I had to get it, especially with the addition of patchouli . At first application, it does have an initial resemblance to Blood, and there is definitely dragon's blood as the most likely blood note. I also detect the clove, which again resembles Blood. I really don't detect patchouli, but I think that could come out after aging, or maybe it is just present enough to keep this nice and dark, the way I like it. After drydown, the leather comes out to play, but thankfully this is not the chemical leather that I detest. It is fortunately the kind of leather note that warms against your skin, softens, and lets you sink into it like a worn comfy leather chair. This scent is just beautiful and has great throw. It's not for the faint of heart. Now I just have to decide how many backups I need!

Caramel Apples and Ancient Oaks Bath Oil

Used on skin as an after-shower moisturizer. At first application, this is very strongly scented of caramel apple, and I was immediately reminded of the caramel apple in Creepy perfume. The caramel surprisingly fades fairly quickly, and leaves a beautiful fall apple scent with a smokiness, perhaps the ancient oaks are dry and burning. After about an hour, this has faded to an amazing scent that reminds me strongly of one of my favorite perfumes, Fearful Pleasure! I need multiple bottles of this bath oil, as it is going to layer so beautifully with my other fall apple scents, as well as the caramel scents: Creepy, Lambs Wool, and Fearful Pleasure in particular. If you love those scents, then you definitely need bottles of this bath oil!
