    What scents are masculine? Gender-neutral?

I must say that Haute Macabre is fairly masculine in my opinion. But hell, I'm a guy who wears Sprinklecake, so really, what do I know, lol.
  2. I adore Sentimental Initiation for clove, its wonderful.

    What scents are masculine? Gender-neutral?

Ooh, forgot to mention, Hellboy (which also smells like clean kitten fur, which makes me sooooo happy), Old Demons of the First Class and Robotic Scarab are nice and masculine. Knecht Ruprecht also has some very masculine tones.

    I need more Cherry!

Hollywood Babylon. Just trust me, it is the most amazers cherry and awesome and sexy rolled into one! Kabuki is like Hollywood Babylon but more incensey/spicey. I love them both. Dark Chocolate and Cherry is also amazing. Cherry Amaretto Pudding is to die for. But really, Hollywood Babylon is my go to for cherrry days. Oh, and Asp Viper is pretty amazing, it's almond, but almond = cherry to my nose, and Snake Oil. It is also stupid amazing!! I want this one so bad, and everytime I see it for sale I've just made a big naughty purchase and can't justify it to myself!!

    Honey and Beeswax scents

Dragons Milk is an all time fave of mine, good recommendation. Lady Una, despite the fact that everything should have been awesome on me, did not work, I think itand O, which again, should have worked, have the same honey note.

This. I mean...this smell...this is stupid good. In the bottle there's a sharp, high, almost cologne note to it, with an underlying herbal base. With some more sniffing there is a sweetness that emerges, mingling with an almost animalistic musk. I think it's actually the musk that brings the sweetness. On wet the musk blooms, I think it's red, which is wonderful because it's my favorite. As it warms that sharp, high note dissipates into the most amazing, sexy, silky, soft leather scent. If this was a pair of leather pants you'd have to pour yourself into them. Dry the leather amps significantly, playing a naughty little game with the assertive musk note. An underlying, very herbal base provides a foundation for these two strong scents. Someone mentioned cumin, but this is very much NOT cumin, which is like, the only true NEVER EVER works note on me. This is a, undeniably sensual scent. Amazing, dark, formidable, and more than a little naughty. I adore the hell out of this. Many thanks to ND(cent) for swapping this to me, it is a super awesome going out smell, but it's also comforting, somehow! I love it sooooo much! This does have some similarities to Crowley, with the musk and leather notes, but where Crowley has a lighter, lavender cologne (very light, but there) this has that insanely interesting herbal base. I love Crowley and I love this (have I said that enough?)

Djinn has a very desert vibe to it.

    Mourning Lace

Just got this in a swap from the lovely ZeldaZ4! Thanks Z! In the bottle: Hmm...that's odd, is that cassia? On wet...spicy, very spicy, assertively spicy. At first I was all, woah, cinnamon, but after a tiny bit of dry down the clove blooms out wonderfully. There is a warm vanilla base which gives some foundation to the high notes of the clove. On wet I don't get much booze, but that's ok, it's very nice! On dry...the clove backs off a bit, becoming much less sharp and the vanilla continues its soothing warmth at the base. Now the wood becomes more apparent, with touches of incense rising up from the frankincense and myrrh. Oddly enough it smells a bit like a clove cigarette in the pack (ah, that brings back memories.) There is a small bit of sharpness from the cognac, just enough to cut the warmth of the vanilla and the spice of the clove. Overall, very amazing. I wasn't a huge fan of the wet stage, but on the dry down it becomes a whole different beast. One which I'm going to take home and hug and kiss and feed and name George.... Way to go Beth, this is a-maze-ing. ETA: I think that this is going to age into something that's even more sublime than it currently is, as vanilla seems to age very well, cannot wait!!

    Switch Witch Help!

Do you have Etsy/Amazon wishlists linked somewhere? (no Etsy yet, I totally should though!) http://amzn.com/w/272332QVPXP6K Do you have a Tumblr/Pinterest you'd share with everyone (these can be really informative as to style?) Not really... Style? Well, I'm pretty laid back. I used to be all gothy, but I got old and didn't die and you can't really keep that up without looking like a poseur. I still tend to wear black, gray, or deep red (I'm a super scorpio, very true to the breed.) I wear silver jewelry, a couple rings, my ear is pierced, generally i wear studs. My tragus is pierced (that little thing that sticks out from your head in the middle of your ear) and I have a few other piercings...I wear a silver necklace with a poison vial on it for scent dispersing, and have another locket, but don't wear it as often. It is antiqued silver which is about as far from silver as I go... Fave Holiday? I love Halloween, nothing is better than that. I'm anti-Valentines day, but take ironic pleasure in being grumpy about it. I do celebrate Lupercalia, since restoring health after the winter is a wonderful thing. I'm kinda a weird agnostic pagan mix so it's kinda a hodge podge up in my world, depending on whose world I have to play in that day. favorite candles, companies and/or candle scents? I just saw the info about Dark Candles and their scents look amazing, especially Absinth, Clove, Leather, Dark Carnival and Dracula http://www.darkcandles.com/ favorite kinds of tea (flavors, companies) I LOVE LOVE LOVE CHAI. My current fave is Teavanna's Samurai Chai for loose and Twinings Apple Chai for bags. I love black teas, and am looking for a good vanilla. I also like greens and herbals, especially with fruits like cherry or blueberry, not huge on citrus in teas. I like Adagio for tea as well. I don't sweeten my tea or add milk so the flavor matters. I prefer loose to bags, but I like bags for work, so either is great! any of the Villainess autumn or winter soaps appeal? Another soap company you'd like more? I use Lush Shower Jelly, mainly. Sweets? I love dark chocolate, the weirder the better. I like stuff with chili's or weird combinations of flavors. I don't eat very much candy due to being strict with myself and my diet, but when I indulge I love it to be tasty! Fave Foods? I'm all about the salty, which is totally my downfall! I also love fruits and veg, mostly veg, since I burned out my sweet tooth back in my raver days. I love 'different' foods. I'm all about the exciting flavors in things like Indian or Ethiopian food. My favorite style of food is probably French. What about desires (limited edition or not) from Black Phoenix? Well! Since you asked...there's my wishlist linked in my signature. I'm always looking for new/old atmos, because I lurve them (especially Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Pyre, Snow Bunny and Exotic Bazaar.) I also love the shirts, but have only bought 1 so far, the 13 one, and I'm a size large in the regular T's. Um...yup. Ereader? I have a kindle, but I have a ton of books (like 2000+). How do you feel about other perfume etailers? Any you love, hate, are dying to try? How about perfume with alcohol in – do you love all perfumes, do you dislike commercial brands but not mind the inclusion of alcohol if it's a boutiquey or fancy company with unique scents, or are you strictly oils? I mainly enjoy BPAL, I don't have time for other places. I don't mind perfume with alcohol in it, but I don't like most commercial brands, especially for men. Other than fragrance oils/perfumes what is your number one (or a tie between 2-3) favorite type of toiletry or scenty item? Um...I'd say Lush's shower jelly, because I only have 1 so far (Party On!) and I'd love more. Describe three things you have decorating your room... Ok, a black and red feathery wreath on the wall, a deep red vase filled with black roses, and pennant hanging from a lamp emblazoned with the word, "Despair!" Hmm...this makes me seem kinda weird...I also have a few lava lamps, a Jack Skellington bowl on top of my DVD player with 2 stuffed black cats in it...well, crap, I guess I do like black. My comforter is a wonderful jewel toned swirly paisley flower pattern...I like accents... Pirates or ninjas? Pirates all the way! Zombies – love, hate, obsessed, don't care, think they're coming for us any day now, other immediate/passionate thoughts? Love zombies! Zombie movies, shows, yarn, you name it. They probably are coming any day now. Bpal oils: Mme Moriarty (I regret selling mine Posted Image) and Badgers (go ahead and laugh), Red Lace, Hollywood Babylon, Crowley, Pumpkin Floss (any), anything with red musk... Disney Villain? Not a big Disney person, but probably Malificent and the Shadow Man. Also, would you be interested in made just for you products like hand cream or salves, or.....? Sure! What would make you smile the most? Honestly, the gift doesn't matter, it's the thought behind it. I know I'm pretty new here, but the sense of community on the forums just makes me squee in delight. This is my first swap (well, I stepped in to be someone's Nightmare when theirs disappeared) but I think just having something to look forward to and being able to share is the best part! Do you have a Holy Grail BPAL? Something you long for but think you will never see? Antique Lace (gotta get them all!), Mme. Moriarty Other drink stuff besides coffee and tea?: I don't drink alcohol or coffee. \How do you feel about hand-crafted goodies? Love them! Do you collect anything? I collect BPAL (obvs) and I also collect odd stuffed animals. I have a two headed chick (that one is actually taxidermy, but I count it), black cats, an octopus and a scorpion, some Skeleanimals (love them!), a bat, a scorpion, a punk teddy bear with wee Doc. Martins...several crows... Fandoms: True Blood, Anything by Jim Butcher
  14. Let's see.... -Sprinklecake is more sweet than buttery and is light and a little creamy...LE, can be a little tougher to find... -Eat Me's currant note keeps it from being too buttery, but it has a creamy vanilla frosting scent to it...and is one of my favorite scents of all time! And it's GC... -Sugar Cookie is yummy spicy cookies, not too creamy though...LE, often on swaps though -Cockaigne, this one could be just what you're looking for, the lab description is...The weather is always mild, the wine flows freely, sex is readily available, and all people enjoy eternal youth. The Land of Plenty, also called Luilekkerland – the Lazy, Luscious Land: milk and honey, sweet cakes and wine. It's pretty amazing and available in the GC... Those are my thoughts...
  15. Off the top of my head Hellcat (A soft, sensual, luxuriant blend with a wicked bite: hazelnut, buttercream, honey mead, rum and sweet almond, sounds foodier than it actually smells) springs to mind, as well as Kabuki (Compelling, complex, and utterly enigmatic: a luxuriant, exotic blend of cherry, red musk, and star anise, comes off as cherries and incense) and Hollywood Babylon (The essence of innocence shattered: glittering Egyptian amber and heliotrope, infused with the sweetness of strawberry and vanilla - dragged into debauch by lusty red musk and a dribble of black cherry, so freaking amazing, I'm wearing it now!) Those are just three that immediately spring to mind. If you can tell I really like the smell of almonds and cherries, so if you don't they might not pique your interest.

Recommend the most herbal scents, please

Woody: Tombstone, this one is amazing cedar. So good. VILF also has nice woody notes, although it's much more complicated than Tombstone. Green: Thorns, which is greenery and blood (sounds odd, ends amazing.) Heinous Hedge Maze (mentioned before). Ranger (super sexy walk in the woods with leather, I think this one fits the 'deep dark woods, less incense' part to a tee, although it's less dark and more sun dappled.) A Blade of Grass (ok, this one is basically just the chlorophyll scent of fresh cut grass, but very interesting, also kinda like squishing a green leaf in your hand and smelling it.) There are so many choices!!

    Hellcat

In the imp...candied fruits...cherries... On wet...warm, candied fruit, very cherry (my brain is convinced almonds are made of cherries). Dry...the warm qualities of this blend come out here, with a sweet, nutty base. The candied fruit smell is strong, almost like those plastic tubs of fruit cake fruit. Ya know, it actually smells kinda fruitcake like on the whole, with the nuts and almond and rum. It's nice, goes a little playdoh (first one that ever has) on the drydown. Love it in the ill, but not enough when it's on. Swaps!

    Coyote

The Native American Creator / Trickster God of Chaos and Change. The warmth of doeskin, dry plains grasses and soft, dusty woods warmed by amber and a downy, gentle coat of deep musk. In the imp...lovely musk. A bit worried about this one because amber and I are not buddies. On wet...nice, dry grass, with heightened musk and the tiniest sweetness from the amber. So far it's playing nice. On dry...ooh, perhaps my fave amber blend so far. It is very much in the background, allowing the dry grasses, shifted by the wind, to bloom as the wonderful soft musk weaves its way sinuously through them. The amber provided just enough sweetness with a beautiful resin-y base. All in all, finally an amber that works for me. Another keeper, but don't need s bottle!

    Loup Garou

In the imp...green, herbal, nice. On wet...sharper, the juniper becomes more pronounced, mixes well with whatever herbal base is happening. On dry...mmmmm...piney. like being in a pine forest, with dark wood. Sharp high notes from the juniper. Very nice, fresh, will be great for summer!

The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil

In the imp...a tart, almost cherry scent... On wet...ooh, lush, juicy fruit. A dark red fruit, with something dark at its core. A nice sharp scent. Smells cherry-ish to me, must be the almond! On dry...hmmm...interesting. the sharp note continues, mixing nicely with the fruits. A tart wine grape scent becomes apparent in this stage which mingled well with the almond. No cinnamon, but something almost candy like. It's very nice, well balanced, but I have other things like it. I'm sure someone else will adore it!

    Anubis

In the imp...very sweet. A bit woody and hereby. On wet...sweet and nice. The herbal note fades a touch. The balsam is more noticeable as it wsrms, in nice complement to the sweetness. On dry...the myrrh sings and brings the sweetness of this blend down to nice levels. The bslsam is balanced well and the embalming herbs return with a slightly green touch. Pretty nice throw. I like it...it's amazingly balanced, considering how sweet it starts off. A keeper, but just the imp, no bottle for this one!
  22. Wren12

    Pele

Pretty is the first word that comes to mind smelling this in the imp. On wet...creamy and floral. Too floral for me, but interesting. On dry...pretty much the same, the creaminess is intriguing, but too floral. Swaps! I did learn that muguet is French for Lily of the Valley, which explains the 'different' floral I was smelling.
  23. Wren12

    The Temptation

Lab fresh imp! Thanks labbies! In the imp...smells like apple to me...sadly a touch chemically like Apple of Sodom was for me. On wet...hmmm...still appley, but not chemical. After a tiny wait I do note the peach blossom, which is quite nice and juicy. On dry...maybe some floral notes, not getting hardcore rose, like I usually do with attar of rose. Still appley, I have no idea what is causing that note, but it smells very much like apple blossoms on theb ranch. This is nice, but too feminine for me. Off to someone who will love it. If I wasn't trying to brutally downsize my imps I'd keep it, but I just don't see myself reaching for it often enough. Btw, that chemical note never comes back, wet to dry is nice and smooth and sweet.
  24. Wren12

    Calaveras

In the imp...Mmm...dark, dark chocolate with a touch of booze. On wet...yummy, dark dry chocolate, with vanilla, a sharp smokiness, and a touch of heat. On dry...not much morph, its such an amazing scent. The dark chocolate blends flawlessly with the heat of the peppers with a sweet, warm vanilla undertone. The copal watts through the scent providing a wonderful, low key incense note. All in all, amazing, goes on the bottle list. Lovely wafts of it keep hitting my nose with different notes, altogether they blend into something amazing. ETA: after several hours the vanilla note dies down and your left with a smokey, very spicy chocolate. This is so good.
  25. Wren12

    Brown Jenkin

In the imp...difficult to pick out s specific scent. It's intriguing and sweet incensey... On wet...ah, here comes the coconut. Very lush, the sandalwood is actually playing nicely with me for once... On dry...meh, the sandalwood is doing its astringent soap thing it does with me. It overwhelms the nice coconut and any whispers of musk I noticed on the drydown, but i amp the heck out of sandalwood, so not surprising. I think it would be wonderful on someone who doesn't amp sandalwood to the high heavens!
