  1. Three Witches ~

Cinnamon is very strong on me, the cloves a little bit lighter, and the pepper just tickles my nose. As many others here have stated, it smells like the Holidays! Cinnamon Brooms, and all the spices that go in Cider or Pumpkin Pie. Another I will be adding to my "Buy a bigger bottle" list!

  2. I have chao theory LXXXIII

first, I love the idea, and am glad I got it, even though, sadly, the scent absolutely does not work on me. :D

In the bottle:  cherry cough syrup, with something much more appealing down under there.  When I first opened my package from the lab, what I smelled was something cherry ciderish, which made me think of lughnasadh, the limited edition I have an imp of from a swap (and am so so sad I didn't get a bottle of!)  None of my other bottles or imps smelled like this, so it was from the Chaos theory...

So I put it on....immediate reaction:  yikes!  cherry cough syrup mixed with anise.  anise is one of my least favorite scents, so I wasn't pleased....My friend who was with me said, optimistically, well, it's not THAT bad...but I could see by the look on her face that she really thought it was....

Still, knowing how the BPAL scent's can morph, I left it on.  What it turned to on me was pure anise....just like a bowl of the seeds.  Nothing else.  Now, about 4 hours later, it has a faintly pleasing cherry-ish, powderish scent and most of the anise is gone, but so is most of the scent....

so off to swap this one away, I'm afraid....its just to anisey for me!

        oh well.....

I swapped with cuervosueno (thank you!), and Isn't it strange how things work on and for each person. Now I'm not sure what Anise smells like...so this is my impression of Chaos Theory LXXXIII

My initial impression from the bottle is coconut, banana, pineapple...kind of a crazy pina colada. On my skin more of a toasted coconut, with a fruity undertone. After a while I'm getting an almost licorice type scent...really interesting fun scent! I really love what Beth has done with this wonderful experiment :P I hope she decides to do it again!

  3. Obeah

I smell the citrus in the bottle. Orange to my nose. I was looking for the patchouli, but I'm not getting it at all. Leather, that's what I get. It smells just like leather on my skin. (My husband thinks this is hilarious for some reason) It's too masculine for me, so hubby gets it :P I'm sure he'll like it.

  4. My Chaos Theory is number LXXXV. This is the most complex scent I've tried to breakdown. It's gorgeous...

This starts out with a faintly aquatic note. As it dries a very light floral starts to rise to the top, gardenia (I'm thinking this because it reminds me very much of Old New Orleans but not as sweet)

The longer I wear this a very light spiciness comes up. Carnation, with a light myrrh undertone.

This a beautiful dreamy soft scent. Floral with spicieness!

  5. I'm getting a hay smell also. (that could just be because of the name) But around the edges sort of a lemon kind of scent. I think my husband should try this one, as everything he tries smells completely different on him than me. Ahh Chemistry!

  6. Really just got this scent because of the beautiful description. This is salty, sweet to me. I am reminded of the ocean (I live in San Diego) I'm also smelling maybe just a hint of lime? Wow, I'm blown away. This is a keeper. I don't know if I want a bigger bottle, but I'll definitely keep an imp around.

  7. I always thought I was a floral type person. Not at all! And here's another resiny scent that is just wonderful!!! The Myrrh is beautiful, and I haven't worn much frankincense, but it blends so beautifully. Works very well on my skin, and I'm buying a bigger bottle!

  8. This smells completely different in the bottle than it does on my skin. In the bottle sharp, almost a hairspray sort of smell (sorry Beth!) However, once I put this on my skin, this becomes spicey, and dark. I've worn it for the last couple of hours and its still lovely. My skin does good things with myrrh, and it wants to come to the top. It's a much lighter, softer kind of scent than I thought it would be. I'm still debating a larger bottle.

  9. This scent is really interesting to me. Sweet, but spicey in an intense sort of way. This is my first time trying Serpents Kiss. I'm not sure what it is about this oil, it reminds me of someone.....I just can't place it. I like the imp, but not sure if I want an larger bottle.

  10. Katharina ~ Just lovely and working really well on my skin (I'm two for two today!) Apricot is the topnote on me. It's just gorgeous. The orange I can smell in the background. The musk hasn't surfaced on me yet. Beautiful summer scent. I really love this!

  11. Do we have to specifically email someone if we want to order from outside the United States? I went to order some Imps and got the ccnow site  and it said it only ships to the United States. I'm sorry if this question has already been answered.

This is off of the BPAL FAQ page ~ FAQ PAGE

    "Do you sell internationally?

YES! Unfortunately, due to the limitations of our current credit card processing system we can only accept PayPal for any orders placed outside of the United States, Canada included. The following is a quick reference chart for international shipping costs covering Canada, Australasia and Western Europe, verbatim from this thread in the BPAL Forums:

    1 item = 1 5ml

    1 item = 1 10 ml

    1 item = 1 set of imps (6 imps)

If it's 4 items or less, these are the flat rates:

    $7 Canada

    $9 most of Western Europe

    $10 to Australia

If it's 5 items or more = 2 dollars extra to each flat rate.

If 10 items or more, $4 dollars extra to each flat rate.

    For example:

    3x5mls + 3 set of imps = 6 items = $9 dollars to Canada, $11 to UK, $12 to Australia

    Another example:

    5x5mls + 6 sets of imps = 11 items = $ 11 to Canada, $13 to UK, $14 to Australia

If you live outside of Canada, Western Europe, or Australasia or if you need a shipping quote above and beyond what's listed here, please email Nella with your order [so that we can aproximate the weight and figure out specific shipping costs] and she will get back to you as quickly as possible. All prices are in US dollars, and thus: all payments must be made using US dollars. I apologize for any inconvenience."

  12. Like everyone else that has posted about decanting, I too use brand new clean vials and pipettes for my decants. And I either write or type a very small label and tape it onto the vial. It's about 15.00 for 100 vials at at sunburstbottles.com pipettes are .20 each.

  13. Lilith on me starts out smelling of Wine, then the myrrh comes to the surface. I've noticed with most of the oils that contain myrrh, this is the scent that dominates on me. I was a little worried about the attar of rose, but it's not dominating at all, each scent compliments to make this a lovely wicked scent that I really LOVE. I need to wear this scent with my antique garnets....

  14. JUJU ~ I'm getting Gardenia. This reminds me of Old New Orleans. But this has a smokieness underneath. Not stong, just lingering under the soft Gardenia Scent. I like this. This scent is a soft floral (to me) with a darkness underneath.
