  1. This is a very clean scent. I'm smelling the sandalwood, and behind it the florals. It's a very light scent. I'm not getting any of the lemon or sage. This fades very quickly on my skin. If you're looking for something very light and a little woodsy, I think this would be great.

  2. Absinthe ~ Fall under the spell of our Green Fairy! An intoxicating blend containing wormwood essence, light mints, cardamom, anise, hyssop, and the barest hint of lemon.

This was sent to me by MissAnthropy, and I'm so happy to try it! On me I can smell the mints, the lemon, and wormwood. It's a very clean uplifting scent. Very light, and airy. I also tried this on my husband...on him it completely loses the lemon, and smell very woodsy, with just the freshest hint of mint. This is a keeper!

  3. I'm getting lots of holiday spice from this scent. Some berrieness, but not overly so. No pine at all, which is good for me, as pine hates my skin. I really find this to be beautiful, and a wonderful cold weather scent.

  4. I don't think Amber and I like each other. It gets way too sweet on my skin. I wanted to love this one so much. It's very sweet Honey, amber and vanilla. If those work for you, you will love this scent.

  5. This is exactly as it is described. The Merlot, and musk with florals are making themselves known as soon as I put this on my skin. Later the Leather comes up, but it's soft. This isn't a heavy scent to me. It's soft with that warm undertone.

  6. ... Offerings of milk, honey and sweet grains were made to placate these creatures, and it is that the basis of the scent created in their name.

My skin seems to amplify the sweet in this scent. The milkiness is gone very quickly on me, and I'm left with a very honey sweet scent, with an almondy undertone. I don't think this one works well with my chemistry. I'm sending it on for someone else to try.

  7. On my skin Haunted has a very sweet, powdery scent. The amber is strong, and there is a faint lemonyness that lingers in the back ground. I'm not getting the musk at all.

This reminds me of a scent that my grandmother wore when I was a little girl.

  8. This is such a beautiful scent! It reminds me so much of my Chaos Theory! It must be the lotus and the aquatic note...

The mint is very soft. It reminds me of buttermints that they always have at weddings. The lotus is also very soft. I'm not a eucalyptus lover, but it barely comes through at all. As for the aquatic note, and the wind note...they are there....but nothing is overwhelming in this oil. Very beautiful.

EDIT: I changed the colour - Aquamarine doesn't work on the lo-tech site. --Shollin

  9. Peace ~ I received this in a swap. Unfortunately the vial had been smashed, but I did end up getting it all over me.

This is a very clean soapy fragrance on my skin. Lightly floral, with something a little peppery underneath. Maybe a little something green there too. This one is not me...but I should have guessed that from the smashed vial LOL!

  10. This one is interesting. I want to smell the Lavender, but it's just not coming out for me. I'm getting honeysuckle, which is very nice, and just a touch of jasmine. I think I need to try this one again. My chemistry is strange...some times of the month I can wear florals, other times spicey scents.

  11. Wrath is melted red hots! Spicey, Cinnamony, but with a sweetness underneath. It's definitely a warm scent. I can smell the dragon's blood. Mmmm, the clove is starting to come up a little bit. Oh I like this so much!

  12. Wings of Azrael is a very lovely scent if you like a soft floral. I can faintly catch the scent of Violet, and Lily, and the something that smells a little green...cypress? I'm not getting the myrrh at all, which usually jumps to the top for me.

  13. Bliss is sooooo chocolatieeee! It's the scent of Hot Chocolate, but the kind you make with the cocoa powder and add your own sugar, not the cheap nestle's kind. There is an undercurrent of something nutty...I think someone mentioned almonds, and that might be what I'm getting. It's very luscious. If you like Velvet, and Gluttony you will LOVE this. (mmmm it smells so good)

  14. Velvet is gorgeous. Everything I love...Cocoa, vanilla, and myrrh...then add the softness of sandalwood, and its sheer lovliness. I consider this my comfort scent right now. It's a warm scent, perfect for the fall :D Thank you Beth for another glorious oil :P

  15. Morgause is a lot softer than I thought it was going to be. I'm getting the soft jasmine, definitely not overly floral though. A bit of plumminess is there, and the incense (which I love) is there, making it seem very magical to me. I think Beth captured the spirit of Morgause perfectly with this scent...This is worth a 10ml. :P

  16. This is so beautiful. Everything I hoped it would be. The Gardenia is very soft on my skin, and the white ginger plays beautifully with it. This scent will replace my beloved Pisces...It reminds me of it...maybe its the water blossoms. I bought a 5ml of this, and I'm not sure if I'll be sharing :P

  17. All Saints...

The Autumn leaves jump out at me first, with just a soft hint of the florals. The myrrh keeps everything warm and soft. This is an incredible scent. I don't normally wear anything with rose as it turns to powder on me, but this doesn't do that. I can see myself wearing this every day. It's just beautiful.

  18. Why didn't I buy 2 or 3 bottles of this :P ? This is one of Beths most glorious creations ever!

In the bottle a somewhat buttery, warm spicey smell.

On my skin...mulled cider, and carved jack o lanterns with the candles inside. You know that warm pumpkin smell. Spicey, warm, comforting. I'm so in love with this scent.

  19. The floral notes are coming out on me, and they are incredible! Very soft on me, not overstated at all. The incense is just underneath the soft florals, giving it a a beautiful, warm spicieness. I'm not getting the chocolate, or foody smells...but we're having a Santa Ana right now, and it may be affecting me. This scent is gorgeous, and I wish I had bought more than one 5ml!

  20. Sugar Skull in the bottle is buttery dark molasses with a sweetness just around the edges. On my skin, it is the dark molasses, but without the sweet, or buttery notes. Almost as if the molasses has been heated....I like this better in the bottle than on my skin.

  21. I received Chaos Theory XCII (92).

I :P it, very much. But for the life of me, I can't seem to pull out any specific notes.

It's very green, anf floral (maybe sweet pea??) and yet wet and watery, too. VERY Fae-ish. I thought I detected some Vanilla in it, but I don't think so anymore. It seems to be very complicated.

I wish I could get a listing of what notes are in it, because if anything else in the lab smells even close to this, I WANT IT :D

    -Leslie

I was lucky enough to receive an Imp of Leslies Chaos Theory XCII. It's gorgeous! Very light floral, but which ones? Gardenia? This reminds me of Luna, but with a definite green note. Like sweet grass. It is gorgeous!!! Thank you so much for sharing this with me Leslie! :D

  22. The autumnal blooms of clematis, chrysanthemum, narcissus, sunflower, sage and lily twined with Dionysus’ sacred grapes and ivy, a bounty of apple, pumpkin, and ripe berries, and the amaranth and lingum aloes of Janus, all touched by a gentle breath of festival woodsmoke and sweet wine.

This is the first really strong, visual reaction I've EVER had to a scent. I love this! I can see a pagan feast...the fire, the food, the dancing, and feasting. WOW!!!!!

First Buttery Pumpkin, then I can smell the chrysantemum, and something sweet, then smokey. This is an ever changing scent. I'm awed by it....

  23. Rain? What is this thing you call... rain? *lives in Southern California* Okay, kidding, kidding. It rains here. Sometimes.

I've noticed that I tend to pick richer, deeper scents come fall/winter, on average. Like, I've been drawn to Black Phoenix, Blood Rose, O, The Red Queen, Snake Oil, Tintagel, and Velvet the past couple of weeks, among others. I would guess those would be the scents I reached for come rainy weather (this is my first fall/winter with BPAL), or similar scents.

I'm here in San Diego, and we haven't seen the gray stuff in awhile, but I'm ready for it!!! I think I would wear scents like Jack, gluttony, Horn of Plenty, Tintagel, Gingerbread Poppet. those seem like fall scents to me. (I haven't been around during the cold weather yet, so I'm not exactly sure which ones I will choose)
