  1. I really really strongly dislike patchouli. Yet, Iambe works on me. It 's not my fave scent, but it works. Sudanese amber, patchouli, rose, gardenia, gladiola and white tea.

    Persephone

My favorite rose. Pure and sweet and wonderful. It feels pretty and youthful. I need a big bottle!

    Cockaigne

Most of the sweet foody scents I've tried from the lab have not turned out on me the way I've hoped. Cockaigne is different. Wet, it's the same sort of hyper-butter-cake smell that Misk U and Eat Me have. Ten minutes later, it smells like my baking spice drawer. (I'm a spice snob, and I have a curry drawer, an herb drawer, and a baking drawer. It's my other obsession). This smells like cassia, nutmeg, ground ginger, cardomom and vanilla extract. It's almost a chai-like scent. It is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.

    Lick It Again

This goes on smelling like toothpaste, but within a few minutes it smells just like a minty Antique Lace. It's a perfect, cool, vanilla-mint. Perfect.

    Thirteen (13): October 2006

New formulation. This doesn't smell at all like I expected. I smelled chocolate and spices and orange for about 5 seconds but now I smell like cedar chips. This has never happened before with any of these notes...crap. Maybe it's the Roiboos? The sandalwood? Maybe this will work on the boy. Or aged. Or swapped for something else.

    Pumpkin Queen

In imp - cloying sweet buttered spices. Wet - Pumpkin pie! First part of dry - OMG. yum. love. ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, orange. perfection. An hour later - straight amber. Smells just like calvin klein Obsession. Not bad, just so boring compared to how it started. I may try it in my hair or in a spray to see if I can capture that first dry part for longer, because that was AMAZING.

    Black Moon

From the bottle and on my skin, it's pear and strong coconut. The massoia smells like super-crazy-coconut. As it dries, I get mostly jasmine and massoia, with a little pear. I want to love it, but there is something about this I don't like, I just can't put my finger on it. I wasn't expecting so much coconut smell, for sure. I'll try it again a few more times, and then probably keep it regardless. Edit: Rereading this, I have no idea what I didn't like when I first tried it. Maybe because it wasn't what I expected? Now I love this scent and get compliments whenever I wear it. It's sophisticated and cool.

    Miskatonic University

In Imp: Baileys & Kahlua Wet: Hot Buttered Popcorn and Playdoh. It's the same playdoh I get in snow white, so they must share a note. Dry: Hazelnut coffee. If I inhale too close I can smell the 'doh still, but only if I sniff for it. I don't usually love heavy foodies, and this is a SWEET coffee, but I like it. I think it would be a good room scent, too.
  10. I find Watre of Notre Dame helps.

    Love Me

I get dragon's blood resin, tamarind, vanilla, patchouli, and cedar from this blend. Patchouli isn't really my thing, but the drydown on this is such a sweet wonderful tamarind vanilla that I'll wear it at home and enjoy it.

    Delirium

This smelled like cleaning product for the first 30 seconds or so, but moments later it is WONDERFUL and stays wonderful. Sweet and feminine and fresh. I smell rose the most, and then the lemon and apple in equal parts and they are very smoothly meshed. I am finding that I adore Bpal's rose scents, and they work well with my skin.

    Sleepy Moon

I love the smell of this, but it is far too masculine for me. I get mostly bamboo and sandalwood, and even though it's not listed, I smell frankincense. I wish I could smell the lavender and chamomile more. It smells good on the husband, so it's his now.

    Dragon's Musk

I received this as a frimp. Except for my recent positive experience with a frimp of dragon's eye, I assumed dragon's blood was a funky head-shop smell. And musk in traditional perfume is quite smelly bad on me. So I put this on with a little trepidation. Wet: Estee Lauder Youth Dew? Not at all unpleasant, but very unexpected. This reminds me of 70s glamour. My mom picking me up while wearing her camel coat with the fur collar, and me burying my face in the fur, where she had sprayed her perfume. Dry: This still has a glamourous perfume smell, but also something sweet and earthy...like roasted marshmellows. I'm enjoying this tremendously. I don't know that this is really me, but I could see myself wearing this on an occasion that required a little black dress. What a fun find!

Jasmine! Rosemary! Lavender! ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... This is sweet and good and the lavender keeps the jasmine from being too jasmine-y. Even my poor insomniac husband got a good nights sleep after I wrestled some onto his temples! Wonderful stuff.

    Catherine

Catherine and I have a strange relationship. I love the smell of rosemary, but it goes sour on me. And I don't particularly like the smell of orange blossom. Wet, Catherine smells like nothing but strong rosemary and orange blossom. Sometimes I can make it through this stage, and sometimes the rosemary smells like B.O. and I have to wash it off, I suppose it depends on my skin chemistry that day. Dry, Catherine is a clean, astringent, wonderful rose. The reason why I keep wearing this scent even though it doesn't always work is that when it does work it makes me feel strong and intimidating. I tend to let people walk on me and this scent gives a "back off" vibe that makes me feel safe. I'm grateful to have recieved this frimp and will keep it in my arsenal!

    Shanghai

Light and pretty lemon. Not tart, just fresh and citrusy. I don't really smell tea, but I can't pick it out in other tea blends, either. After a half an hour I notice this reminds me of something. Not cleaning products like sniffing from the bottle, but like walking into a freshly clean and scrubbed kitchen or bathroom. Hrrrm. I still like it, and could see myself being in the mood for this at times. (Maybe it would motivate me to scrub things clean?)

    Annabel Lee

oh! this is beautiful! This smells sweet and floral in the imp, but turns into a warm spring stroll through a flowering garden on the skin. Clean and fresh. I don't smell the cucumber specifically, and my skin usually amps cucumber. I can still smell this yumminess after about 4 hours. I'm so glad I ordered it!

    Vinland

In the imp: Minty Band-aids! Wet: Spearmint and rubber. Reminds me of the dentist. I am scared. 10 minutes: Spearmint and dried leaves. Interesting, and less scary. Dry: Roses and autumn leaves. Chilly and pretty. The rubber/bandaid smell may be a hormonal thing, I will try this again and see if I get the same awkward early stage. Even with the beginning weirdness, the drydown is really interesting and cooling. I look forward to using this when it is 100 degrees and humid! Edit: I tried this again today, and I got wood instead of bandaids. I think it was an aging issue, not a chemistry issue, but I'm not certain... I really like it and am considering a bottle.

    Neo-Tokyo

This smells elegant and modern and fresh and interesting. I can close my eyes and see city streets and flowers and expensive cashmere sweaters and well-designed buildings with glazed curtain walls. To me the rain/ozone notes smell more Pacific Northwest than Japan, but I haven't been to the latter and spent much of my life in the former. This fragrance makes me smell like how I want to be perceived, if that makes any sense. A bottle is on the way!

    Sudha Segara

Sudha Segara is very light and not at all the "chai" scent I was expecting, but I love it. In the imp, this smelled spicy and "fizzy"... sort of like Mr. Pibb or Dr. Pepper. I'm pretty certain what I'm smelling is tamarind. Once on my skin, I get a little bit of ginger, and some milk, but not cream. Mostly I smell sweetness and tamarind. I put this on every night as part of my before-bed routine. It's a very pleasant light scent to fall asleep to. I immediately bought a bottle, and the imp will probably be gone before it arrives!
