    Glasgow

I bought this, as I bought a few other scents, purely because of the name. I'm pleased to say that it lived up to the risk quite admirably and definitly adding this to my "small bottle" list. In the bottle: crisply floral, a little strong. On me: Mellowed to a beautiful, crisp heathery scent very much invocative of heather blooming on hills with a gorgeous breeze on a clear day. I never picked up much of the fruit but the blackberry came out a bit later on though this scent predominantly remained a clean, fresh flowery one. I adored it, a good pick me up that wasn't over-powering. Wear test: Lasted most of the day on me! Yay! (I'm finding that this is a big thing with perfumes on me, I tend to just wear through them)

    Unseelie

Unseelie - tried this one yesterday. In the bottle - just kinda a strong musky scent. It's odd that I'm not getting some of the complexities on these and yet others I spend hours smelling all the different notes. On me - still kinda a strong musky scent. This really seemed to seem more like a guy's scent to me and never really warmed up or altered all day, just staying sorta musky and vague. It was not unpleasant but it reminded me of an ex-boyfriends cologne and I think psychologically that was a nono. I wasn't getting any of the floral or anything else on this one. Hrm. Wierd. Ah well can't win 'em all! Going into the swap pile

    Imp

In the bottle - Citrusy and hard to place. I thought I was going to smell orangey wearing this. On me - mellowed out nicely to a sweet orangely, sunny scent. This is a good summer one for me, cheery and not overwhelming and good for those days I"m feeling...well...impish. Lasting power: Stayed. and Stayed. And Stayed. and dear god I applied in the morning and could still smell almost 24 hours later.

    O

Today: "O" - In the bottle - kind of a fruity musk. On me - went on very vague and never punched up. It was a lot lighter than I expected. It's still on me though, hasn't faded. I don't know what to make of O. Well..it smells like...er...welll...yah. Orgasmic? Not in that oh my god this smells sooooo good sorta way. More like it, in its current mild state, is reminding me very much of a post-sex sorta smell. Lightly musky with an undertone of something fruity that my nose is not identifying. In a good way. I cannot possibly imagine wearing this on a regular basis. Its a cuddle, kissing, canoodling sorta scent that I think I'll keep stocked in Imp Sample form but otherwise meh. I like it, don't get me wrong. I just now have a serious desire to find my boyfriend. Now. Thankyouverymuch. Edit: The more I try this one (I kept the imp) The more I love it. It lasted longer on later applications and mellows into this lovely, musky chocolatey scent that is very much dark spanish chocolate smell mixed with that smokey after glow of sex. I love it. I cannot stop smelling my wrists when I wear this, but I have to be careful WHEN I wear this as it eventually drives me nuts! As my beloved currently lives 1200 miles away, insanity is not always a good thing.

    Hecate

In the bottle - Overwhelmingly almond. Like almond on alcohol. IIt scared me a bit in the bottle! On me - I LOVE IT. Rich and spicey almonds that fade into this gorgeous sweet and smokey almondy scent. Sweet but exotic, shadowy, and definitly nose catching. I would categorize this less as sexy and more as enrapturing. I wore this for our local fairie/changeling LARP (yes Tygher, playing my sidhe ) and people commented on it all day. Very rich and sweetly dark in a way and I cannot get enough of this one. Definite TO BUY list. Wearability: It faded a little faster on me than I'd like. This was solved by secondary application midday.

    Ophelia

So I nab Ophelia out of my box of imps today. Thinking something nice and light for today will be good. I got seven hours of sleep but the deprivation has kicked in and I'm exhuasted. The cap fights me. So I pull harder. PING goes the cap across the room. SPLASH goes the essential oil right into my left eye. SCREAM goes I as a tremendous sense of burning occurs. Right. So. Ophelia: In Eye - BAD. DO NOT TRY. First sniff - Don't know was too busy rinsing eye out. I think it was strongly floral, almost sickeningly so, but I can't really recall through my contact scrunching up under the impact. On skin - nice and lightly floral. I was a little dissapointed with this one. Maybe it was the extreme pain that made me bitter but I preferred Queen Mab. Ophelia was nice and pretty but nothing hugely special in my mind. It mellowed quickly into a strong sort of lilac/honeysuckle scent that is nice but it seemed a little better as a room scent rather than a perfume. Or I could still just be bitter about my eye being red for half the day.

    Queen Mab

One of those ones I didn't plan on ordering but hey... at six am on my second day of teaching I was in no shape to READ the label this morning. Luckily I did not grab snake oil (hard enough time peeling the 18 year old wrestler off the ceiling without inciting THAT) Okay. Floral in the tube says my sleep fogged brain. Dab dab dab. I just found my new favorite floral for a while. My department head stopped me to ask what I was wearing today. Something sort of dark and fruity (I'm thinking persimmon even though I have no idea what a persimmon smells like. It's just the name popping in my head.) with an overtone of floral and something a little honeyish mixed in. Staying power was not so great today but I think that's because I lost my sense of smell when my allergies kicked in and spent most of my day lugging books around as I cleaned my desk. I suspect that was more my intense bout of activity than the perfume A definite "buying a bottle"

    Shanghai

Another of Beth's additions to my order. I'm still wondering how she pegged this one. In the bottle: Lemon much? Application: Ka-bam the lemon smoothed right out, picked up the green tea scent and made my nose tingle. A very fresh, clean scent, sunny and bright. After about a half hour the lemon mellowed its happy self out even more and now strangely my skin smells a bit like cherries - real cherries, not the marichino kind. I finally picked up the honey suckle as it started to mellow and it's a little more of a clean floral now. Staying power: Ack the only problem! After four hours it's fading fast on me. I will try a more liberal application tomorrow. As this one is certified "school safe" to not drive the teenagers in my classes to hormonal frenzies, should I manage to get it to stick this one is getting added to my bottle list for summer/spring wear. Purr.

    Bliss

This was one of the nifty samples that Beth tossed in for me. I thought "hey! chocolate! Woo hoo!" as I am a self-proclaimed chocaholic. However, I also have some strange body chemistry at times. First sniff: Bottled Hershey's chocolate bar. Application: Hoo boy was that sweet! Sugary and cocoa like and sort of like I up-ended my can of hot cocoa on my wrists. I waited about half an hour for it to mellow or alter but it never really mellowed. I still got that kick of cocoa in the nose and then my body chemistry started screwing with it. In the end it went sort of a smokey chocolate on me. There is really no other way to explain that. Not a bad smell, but not one I want to walk around with on a regular basis. I wish it hadn't done wierd things as I would have liked to have used the rest of the imp at least. Lasting power: Took two scrubbings to get most of it off. Wow. I'm not quite sure what my skin did to this one but it just didn't work with my chemistry. Off it got scrubbed and I've added it to my swap list for when I'm ready to trade.

    Dana O'Shee

Well this is my first order from BPAL and I'm hooked! Dana O'Shee was the first Imp I tried out of the box and I adore it, this one's becoming a summer favorite and gets added to the "buy a bottle" list. First Smell: Smells very marzipan, as others have noted, out of the bottle. Application: Went on a little too sweet at first but after about ten minutes this gorgeus, warm honey scent glowed through and mellowed it just slightly. I spent the day inhaling my wrist. I sort of thought of it as a "good girl" scent at first but now I'm not so sure. The more I sniffed, the more it made me want to go cuddle my boyfriend. Definitly left a warm, golden, glowing impression in my mind. Lasted: on me? all day. I applied at noon and somewhere around one in the morning I could still faintly smell it on my wrists. Mmm.
