Astrology

  • Astrological Info
I was born on a beautiful autumn afternoon...I'm a libra and I'm not sure how I "feel" about that...for some reason I get kind of embarrassed if it comes up. I identify MUCH more with Chinese astrology. I'm a rat and proud of it.
  1. If you like Velvet, you might like eating chcolate cake and talking about magic with me

    New Mods Installed

hmm...when I press "update" it shows my current settings back at default . Is there something I'm missing? Edited to say that the effects stuck, no problem just; caused confusion at the time because the bugger kept telling me that everything was at default.

    Carnal

To me Carnal is a light scent with a trace of sweet/fruitiness; not a traditional "fragrance". There is something about Carnal that is so appealing...but somehow it falls short of its full potential. I'm using it as a base for layering, trying to get that extra "something".

    Persephone

Very pretty but I really don’t see why everyone loves it so much…rosy and kind of dry to me; unremarkable on my skin.

    Velvet

Envelop yourself in the soft, sensual embrace of gentle sandalwood warmed by cocoa vanilla and a veil of deep myrrh. ....Wow. The first time I smelled Velvet my eyes rolled back into my head and I may have moaned, delicious; in a non food way. On my skin the sandalwood is the predominant scent, warm and inviting. The Myrrh adds wonderful depth and complexity without being heavy or cloying in any way. The cocoa is “mmm” without being food-y, I know it’s there but it doesn’t speak up much. Vanilla rounds everything out wonderfully, making it sexy and womanly. I end as I started: WOW! I just knew my sister and I (la-roja) would fall for the same scent!(which is kind of amazing, we have hugely different ideas of what is a good perfume)

    Bliss

A shot of pure, self-indulgent euphoria! A scent that is very, very wicked in its own way: the serotonin-slathered scent of pure milk chocolate. I love the cocoa in Velvet, I was SURE I would just adore this. The first sniff was “huh…” not what I expected at all, kind of chocolaty I suppose. On my skin it smells kind of like cheap “artificial chocolate flavor” drug store candy.

    Jack

I was so excited when I read the description for Jack, it sounded like everything I adore in a scent. From the tube it smells buttery and pumpkin-y, perfectly lovely. On my skin it smells like burning tire rubber.

    Shanghai

Unfortunately I have nothing good to say about this one. Old Shanghai is sharp and mildly unpleasant to my nose; smells like cheap man cologne on me.

    Rosalind

Absolutely adored this sent but couldn’t classify it, very "green" and horribly intriguing! I don't detect any berry at all. Twistygirl introduced the notion that it smells shampoo and everything slipped into place, it’s a very lovely scent. Rosalind worked best in my hair as it would be odd to smell like that anywhere else. On the skin it doesn’t have a lot of lasting power, in my hair it seemed to last longer. I plan to use the rest of my imp in a linen spray it’s lovely waking up, smelling it on my sheets in the morning.

    Wings of Azrael

Feminine, very striking but not over powering, floral but not “flowery” or girly; a very clean scent. When others say something is “clean” it often translates to “smells like soap” this isn’t a soapy scent at all. When I was sniffing this throughout the day I kept picturing a striking woman in black with a gothic aura, the kind of person that seems intriguing and confidant in herself.

    Justice

From the bottle there is a lovely woodsy sent that made me think of pine (might not be pine at all but I associate it with trees) which is very nicely balanced with the rest of the fragrance, warm and intriguing; loved it from the first sniff. on my skin it is sweet and musky, pleasant but not remarkable and too "heavy" for my taste. Now that I have spent some time with this sent my attraction to it is gone, it is far too heavy and "perfume-y" for me.

    Dilution and Carrier Oils

I have a question about oils... if I put a carrier oil with a sent, keeping it in a vial...will it mix? Or will it be like mixing oil in water? If that's the case, does shaking before application work?
