    Velvet Unicorn

Velvet Unicorn + me = crazy delicious This stuff smells wonderful on me, I cannot get enough. I'm so happy I put it in my locket today, because it was all sweet smelling yumminess, all day! In the bottle: Hello, candy! Specifically, cotton candy. This is all warm strawberry sugared cotton candy. Wet: My skin loves this. It's sweetness, pure and simple. Drying down: This stayed true to the bottle scent and the wet scent, it's airy and light sweet strawberry candy. I'm noting a sugared incense type of edge to it as well, which I love. This is good, good stuff! Dismayed that I only have one bottle, but so, so happy that I have it to experience!

    Annurca Apple Blossom

I was so excited to order this because I love the smell of apples, and I was hoping this would be that perfect "orchard in a bottle" scent. Did it live up to expectations? Read on, friends... In the bottle: Sniff, and...It's early October, I'm up in uber-Northern NJ with my husband, we've gone on a day-trip to an apple orchard. I'm in the orchard, the sky is a brilliant blue with some lazy, puffy white clouds crawling across the sky. The air is fresh and just a bit cool. The sun is filtering through the trees, I can hear a light breeze rustling through the branches. I'm munching on a perfect apple (Winesap, my favorite!) I just plucked from a tree. The apples smell amazing, the air is filled with the soft scent of the apple blossoms and the sun-warmed trees. This is a perfect moment of happiness. And sniffing this from the bottle takes me there. It is amazing, truly. Wet on my skin: Pure sweet apples, soft floral blossoms, a nice understated grounding of wood. In my locket: Remains true to the smell out of the bottle. Amazing. Drying down: The apple notes are becoming softer on my skin, and they mingle beautifully with the woods and florals. The throw is pretty decent, my husband could smell the bottle when I opened it from about 5 feet away from him, and when i had it on, he could smell it sitting next to me in the car, but he said it wasn't offensive or overpowering, he liked it a lot. Had nice lasting power, too - 5 hours into wearing it and I can still smell it. This is such a special scent to me - it's seriously like warmth and happiness in a bottle. It could be because fall was the season when I fell in love with my husband, and this scent is so evocative of those afternoons with him in the apple orchard - afternoons I look forward to every year! Beth has bottled magic for me with this one! I have 3 back-ups on the way to me, this is one I absolutely need to stock up on!

    CCNow Questions & Problems

I'm worried because of the time sensitive nature of the LE. How long should I wait before e-mailing the Lab? *This is my first order with CCNow. I never had a problem with PayPal before but now they're demanding a photo ID to unfreeze my account (and the accounts most if not all of their other customers) - seriously, WTF? I just got my CnS for 2 orders, 1 I placed on 6/30 and the second one on 7/1. So I bet yours are coming soon!

    Bakeneko

Mmmm...so happy I was able to find a bottle of Bakeneko! Only thing I'm worried about is that I only have one bottle, and it seems hard to track down others! Sniffing from the bottle, Bakeneko smells like a delicious full-bodied Christmas tea. (Tea, cinnamon, citrus.) Cannot wait to put this on! On my skin: First applied, I'm getting a lot of spice and citrus. Cardamon is popping out to say hi as well. This is a wonderfully blended scent. Drying down: The citrus and spice are mellowing, blending more with the musk and the tea. This is such a warm, lovely and comforting scent. I have it in my scent locket as well, and I'm loving that I keep catching whiffs of it. It is spicy and sophisticated! I've even gotten compliments on it from other people. As I really love scents with a tea note, I had a feeling this would be a winner, but I didn't expect it would be such a grand slam! (Forgive me my baseball metaphors, I'm a superfan!) There's not many phases I experience with it, on me it retains it's warmth, spiciness and delicious tea scent, and makes me happy all day. Lasts me quite a long time as well, a drop on each wrist and 3 drops in my scent locket have lasted well over 8 hours. Yummy goodness, one of my favorites!

    Midway

I've discovered that I am a total foodie scent lover, so I needed to have a bottle of Midway! I searched far and wide, and after losing 4 eBay auctions for it, I finally won a full 5ml of the original. Wahoo! I tried it out yesterday and today, so here are my thoughts! I was so excited to unwrap the bottle and check it out, but a bit nervous at the same time because I was hoping I wouldn't be disappointed. Finally freed the bottle from the cage of bubblewrap - the label is so cute! Unscrewed the cap, took a big sniff...oh, no...I think I made a mistake! In the bottle: All I'm picking up is old, greasy popcorn. It smells pretty gross. I carefully rolled the bottle to see if some of the oil had seperated, but the floor of the movie theatre smell prevails. I'm not getting any sugar, no apple, nothing! I'm not even wanting to try this on my skin, but I have to give it a fair shot. On my skin: Applied a very small drop from a pipette to my left wrist, rubbed wrists together. A few seconds in, still smelling greasy. Then...wait a minute...things are getting interesting! I can smell sweetness! Like powdered sugar and taffy! Not picking up any of the apple still, but it's starting to smell sugary and yummy. Deciding to try it in my scent locket as well! In my locket: Applied 3 drops from a pipette. The greasy smell opens everything up, but after an hour or so I am getting the most delicious scent! I don't go to fairs often, (so not much authentic Midway experience!) but living on the coast I visit the boardwalk all the time in the summer, and this smells exactly like the boardwalk! I can now smell the sweetness of the funnel cakes, their powdered sugar, the taffy, and the salt smell reminds me of the ocean. This is wonderful! Drying down: On my skin I'm getting tons of deliciousness now! I am so happy I gave this a chance, it is amazing how true-to-life this scent is! There's lovely soft sweetness, with a bit of a salty scent humming underneath. Cannot stop sniffing my wrist! In my locket: Does not really dry down, but the longer I wear the locket, I'm getting a coconut smell, too! Like sunscreen! I keep getting whiffs of something at my desk, and I'll think "Mmmm, what smells so good?!" It's me and my Midway! This has amazing lasting power and good throw on me as well - I didn't refresh my locket this morning, and I'm still smelling the yuminess! A new absolute favorite for me - I'll have to carefully ration it since I only have 1 bottle!

    White Chocolate and Strawberry

Wow, am I happy I snagged a bottle of this from a lovely forum member! I was hesitant to try it because White Chocolate and Violets didn't work for me, and I LOVE violets. But I jumped in and purchased it, and I am so, so glad I did! Sniffing from the bottle: Yummy strawberry pops up right away to say hello! Reminds me of the strawberry cake filling the bakery near me uses for strawberry shortcakes. The chocolate is there, too - I'm not getting a white chocolate scent from it, more like dark chocolate, actually. Smooth and rich. Wet on my skin: Just what I was hoping for - a very realistic strawberry smell with the mellow chocolate lounging in the background, providing richness and balance to the sweetness. I am so happy this does not smell plastic on me, just smells like sweet, fresh strawberries, waiting for me to eat them! Nom nom nom. In my scent locket: Sweet strawberry keeps wafting its way to my nose. Yummy! Drying down: Remains really true to the scent from the bottle, there's not much that changes for me from when its wet to dry. The strawberries still smell fresh and sweet, and the chocolate is a delicious note holding it all together. I'm so happy I tried this - it's going to be one of my favorites!

    Sugar Moon 2008

In the bottle: A heady, sweet smell. I can smell the sugar cane, currant and strawberry. Wet: Goes on strong, with a lot of throw - even with just a tint drop on my wrist. Reminds me of a humid night - it's kind of a heavy smell on me. Sweet, but not sickly so. I'm really liking it a lot. In my scent locket: Smells very similar to the bottle, a sweet smell that I keep catching wonderful whiffs of all day. Drying down: It's mellowing out so nicely, the musk is starting to come into play, but it's very mild and soft. I can make out the fruits and the woods, but I have no clue where the flowers are, because I can't smell either. (And I love violets!) Completely dry, after an hour: This has lovely staying power, I can still smell it there when sniffing my wrist. It's a lovely sweetness on me, with some really nice fruit accents. One of my favorites so far, both on my skin and in my locket. I am so glad I have two bottles of this, as it will be a go-to often!

    Milk Moon 2007

If I was reviewing this on Twitter, I would say : I've been swimming in garbage juice. I'm a newbie, but my nose and skin have been on quite a sniffy adventure of late! I love creamy scents and fruit, so I wanted to try this out; I was really excited to see it for sale on the forum, I snapped it up! It arrived today, so I tried it out right away. In the bottle : Oof, I don't think this is going to work for me. I'm smelling something like a sharp sourish Similac formula powder note with some honey and some fruit that smells past its prime. It's making me feel kind of queasy... (On my wrist) Wet: Still smell the Similac powder scent, with some rancid fruitiness coming through. (Scent locket) Wet: Couldn't do it...I just didn't want it in my locket, because things were not going well. Drying down: I can smell the sweet fig peeking through, and there's a whole lot of grape all the sudden! The pomegranate isn't showing up for me, just the fig and grapes. I still can smell the milkiness, but it's not as prominent. Completely dry: The funky baby formula note has mellowed into a slight sourness, with some cloying sweetness left on my skin. I hate to say it, but smelling it on me reminds me of when the garbage truck would come - when it got crowded the worker on the back would hit this lever to compress all the bags, causing garbage juice to gush out into the street. My skin hates this scent and wants me to smell like the garbage juice. This just didn't work for me, which makes me sad because I had such high hopes for it!

    Woods~

I believe someone is selling it on the forum, I could swear I saw it on one of the updated sale posts today...unless you're the one who bought it! My wallet fears the arrival of the Carnival!

    Woods~

Cathedral screamed wood at me, so that might be a good one to try. (I believe there's an imp of it in transit to you!) I had a bottle of Sleeping Nymphs and Satyrs which was primarily woody on me, though it did have sweeter notes. (I think a lot of it is the skin chemistry.) Midnight Carnival and Witch-Cursed Castle from The Last Unicorn collection both sound pretty woody, perhaps you can find imps of those on the forum, since I see they are expensive and are only 5ml bottles. Good luck ~ have fun on the journey to find some good wood!

    Embalming Fluid

My first review of the first BPAL oil I've tried. I am totally in love with this scent - I saw green tea and lemon in the description and had to jump in. I ordered a 5ml unsniffed, and I am so happy I did! I could bathe in this stuff! My husband likes it on me, and my friends have grabbed my scent locket and asked if that's what smells so good. (Yup, I'm a newbie with a Salome locket...this new hobby of mine is hitting me hard!) Bottle: I smell the tea very strongly, with some sharp lemon and an air of coolness underneath from the aloe. Smells like a refreshing, fruity tea - perfect for a summer day. Wet/Scent Locket: Very similar to the bottle, I keep catching whiffs all day. Just yummy - I can smell the tea and the lemon amps up a bit. Dry: Delicious mellow fruitiness, and I can still smell the tea. Very soft on my skin, with a lot of lasting power - I can still smell it on my wrists 8-10 hours after application. The musk never seems to make an appearance for me, which I'm ok with. I'm really enamored with Embalming Fluid, and am happy with the nice compliments I've received when wearing it. I hope this is never discontinued because this will forever be a staple in my collection!
