Hmmm maybe UOH34, I'd imp you some but I traded it. I'm gonna dig through my imps. I sure there is something close to what you are looking for. Not all rosewood is sharp it depends upon several things like is it a base, what it's blended with, and time.

I would totally be up for a dollar store swap. I would actually go myself not send hubby. I need some things from there anyway. Cheap stationary , packing tape and bubble mailers, stickers, cheap taper candles etc. so I'd definitely do a swap.

 

I would just like to do any kind of swap right now. So I will keep an eye out for one or more to pop up, I hope!

I really love this. To me it starts off almost smelling somewhat like brood xlx. It's spicy, but not too much. I just can't put my finger on it. All I can say is I wish I had more than half a bottle.

I wonder if this could be an issue.. that some people have plastic jewelry, others have great homemade stuff, or may even have special silver or gold pieces they'd want to re-home. Would there be a way to have people not be disappointed by that kind of a swap?

I would say.. on the sign-up sheet, put a price range. Maybe $5 to $25 per jewelry piece, something like that. Or make one of the requirements be that one piece of jewelry needs to be non-plastic, and give some examples. And, of course, warn people that if they send something much more valuable, they may not receive something of equal value in return.

 

Alternatively, at the end of the questionnaire you (or whoever is coordinating) could ask if the person intends to re-home something silver/gold, and then those people could be matched up with one another as much as possible. Something like.. "Are you re-homing jewelry made from precious metals or stones?" "Is any of your jewelry professionally hand-made or otherwise one of a kind?" "Do you think you will be sending any one piece with a value greater than the suggested price range?" Then keep those answers to yourself, for matching purposes only.

 

I think that makes sense. I'm still up for the swap if it ever comes together.

I'd be up for a jewelry swap. I've got a ton high end to home made. I like this idea. So let me know if you ask for mod approval . I would want to sign up.

I love it. Actually more than her sister Hope which would usually be my pick of the two seeing I love rose. It smells just like sugary purple goodness. I can't explain it. If it was edible it would be a favorite candy. Perfect!

Vanilla tea with a hint of coconut. I'm glad I bought the bottle. The only downside is this scent is fleeting. I wish it had more wear length but it probably wouldn't smell the same then. I've had the same problem with pink lace.

Vanilla and clove....I love it. I'm in search of a bottle.

Um...I don't get the mint or chocolate that many people seem to pick out. To me it's snake oil, patchouli, and juniper berries it smells wonderful. I'm glad I got it. Btw my bottle has the male wolf on it.

In the bottle: almond and hay

Wet: almond blossoms and rice milk are in front with hay splaying behind it. It's sweet but not overwhelming.

Dry down / Dry: it doesn't change very much it just becomes softer and it's as if you are out in a field on a warm summer day and the sun is beating down on the hay that has just been bailed. I really like it. It's a good oil to wear in summer weather . I think it would also work in the fall as the last of the harvest is gathered .

In the bottle: very floral, it reminds me of wild flowers. I do detect a hint of chocolate.Wet: to me I smell fresh picked daisies, mums, peony, and a hint of chocolate mingling . When I close my eyes it's like I see predominately yellow flowers and a few white. I love white chocolate so I'm sniffing my wrist endlessly it seems to be playing hide and seek with me.Dry: the chocolate finally steps forward and the wild flowers have been tamed. They turn softer, sweeter, less crisp that just picked or cut smell is gone. There is a slight powdery scent that is secondary but pleasing.Overall: I like it . It has medium throw and wear time. Im glad I got it.

To be honest I would try to keep them together and possibly try to find #1. Even if you use some they will probably be more attractive to swappers. Decant some of what you like. You could probably swap for your "holy grail" whatever that may be.

Oh gosh NO!!! I wouldn't EVER pay that much!! I saw a while back someone paid $450 for Storyville that BPAL listed!! This was just the set of 4 bottles!! Got a great deal for them!!

I'm pretty sure that Pumpkin Patch 2005 and 2006 were the same (as they have 05 and 06 on their review titles). I have a set from 2005 and it's the series of labels like Zorra posted (the mostly black labels with pumpkins and a bit of greenery). There were five in each series. The 07 ones are these here that portalkat mentioned:

ETA:

Pumpkin Patch 1 05 with the cider has eyes and a smile that are jagged and almost look like flames.

Pumpkin Patch 2 05 with cocoa has a big grin.

Pumpkin Patch 3 05 with pomegranate has one eye (in Zorra's pic).

Pumpkin Patch 4 05 with sandalwood has long vertical lines for its mouth and almost looks kinda unhappy, lol.

Pumpkin Patch 5 05 with woods & galangal (my favorite <3) has swirly eyes and a sort of toothy grin.

 

If you look at the first page, first post of the pumpkin review threads, they have the label pics in them.

Can't really help with the bottles, but to post a picture.. first you need to upload it somewhere like Flickr, Imgur, Photobucket, or some other photo-hosting site. (EDIT: I forgot we have a gallery on these forums -- thanks Portalkat! But the instructions should be about the same, assuming uploads are still allowed.)

 

Next, get the URL of the photo. Most sites will give you this information in a sidebar after you upload it, but if not, you should be able to right-click on it and choose "Copy Image Location" -- it should end in .jpg (or .gif or whatever image format you're using) like this: http://i.imgur.com/RpS1V.jpg

 

Then click on Insert Image, the little icon at the top of your post editor that looks like a Polaroid. Paste in the picture's URL, and voila!

OMG!I know this is off topic but that baby turtle is the cutest thing I've ever saw. I love animals. I donate monthly to The Humane Society of the US, WWF, our local SPCA , my family volunteers at our city's animal shelter, all of our animals are strays or adoptions, when we go away we take our brood to a non profit rescue/kennel etc. I have always wanted a turtle though. Thanks for the heads up! Your pic looks just like one of my cats. His name is Bowie. He was a feral cat that my husband rescued. He is getting really fat, but he has a home now and is happy. Two of our cats were feral. The other we got from a non profit shelter/ kennel we use. Our dog came from the city pound that grew on my husband and daughter when they volunteered there. We also donate to our SPCA and I donate monthly to The Humane Society of the United States. Sorry totally off topic. Is that your cat?

 

Unfortunately no, the cat's just a picture that I found online, but it does remind me of my own cat (who I have little luck photographing). All of my pets came from similar situations - two dogs and a cat from shelters/rescues, one cat who was a stray who arrived on the doorstep with a kitten in her mouth. Ended up bringing four under the guest room bed. Only had room for two of the kittens though, the others ended up with friends.

 

eta: Also just saw your other topic, and Fire Phoenix does have beautiful red musk, so if that's the component you love so much, it's definitely worth hunting down.

 

So let me get this straight fire Phoenix has red musk and hyacinth ? If it does it will probably be my all time favorite. Is it hard to come by? Could you point me in the right direction?Awe, I can't believe how cute but sad it must have been to see the cat with a kitten in her mouth. I'm glad you found homes for them. I just love animals. Mircalla from the '09 Weenies is very similar to Marianne. I went through a red musk phase and couldn't get enough of either. You may also want to try and track down The Infernal Lover.

 

Oh thanks for the tip. I will be on the lookout for both. When I do I will let you know how I made out with them. I need some absolute favorites.

OMG! I got my Marianne yesterday and tried it. I think it's like liquid crack cuz I can't get enough of it! I don't do crack or drugs in general for that matter but I just think it was a good analogy cuz they say crack is highly addictive.I think it might be the red musk, idk.So, I'm looking for other oils that smell similar, or other oils with red musk in it seeing my bottle of Marianne is just under half full and my skin just sucks up oil like crazy.Thanks in advance posters!

Fire Phoenix has a very strong hyacinth component while wet, though it varies how much it lingers when dry. It's a complicated blend, and really nice.

I guess that's why I love the scent even more. I'm thinking about force growing them. Woo hoo I get to recommend one of my favorite GCs!

 

Ladon: dragon's blood resin, golden apple, apple blossom, white musk and hyacinth.

 

If DBR works on your skin, this is a great appley blend with a strong hyacinth note. It has a ton of throw (on me, at least) and is one of the perfumes I get the most unsolicited compliments on.

 

Thank you astarinel. How are you? I finally got around to leaving feedback for you. I'm sorry it took me so long. It was very positive though. I should have asked this question a month ago! I think I've used oils with DBR in them without any problems. I will be tracking this one down. I will let you know how I make out!

My mother in law loves hyacinth, so I am always on the lookout for it. I just got her Poisson d'Avril, available right now until May 8th. I have also given her Grief (ha ha) and I saw hyacinth listed in Egle, these are GCs from Marchen I believe.

I was frimped an imp of this.In the bottle: strawberries boozy smellWet: the vanilla starts to mingle and the strawberry starts to calmDry: smells exactly as described. I really like it. It fades very quickly though. I would like to get a bottle of this.

In the bottle: smells like almond extract and possibly a bit of anise extract. Strong but not off putting .Wet: the red fruits are pretty dominate with some vanillaDry: sugary, vanilla and some raspberry I think very femine and sweet. It stays a bit closer to the skin than I would like, but it's still very pretty. I will be looking for another bottle.

I bought this bottle off of eBay from BPAL /TP. I had not smelled it prior. I basically picked it because of the oils listed and the amazing story about the woman that inspired it.In the bottle: heavy, fruity, with a bit of spice.Wet: it's pomegranate is a dominate scent but I also smell something similar to apples. I then start to smell the jasmine and clove.Dry: beautiful , spicy but not overpowering. I love it.I will be looking for another bottle.
