BPAL

  • Favorite Scents
COCONUT;) I also love iris and cinnamon. Mostly all fruity or spicy scents are my favorites. Musky scents are too overpowering. As a side note...hardly anything beats the smell of peanut butter mmmmmmm Favorite oil of the moment: Black Pearl

Travelling is what I live for...I want to see everything, experience everything...there are too many people to meet and hidden places to discover, so I am restless to be in one place, which explains my love of reading and meeting new people. Anything french is a must for me;)
I love to sketch and mosaic...but I have kind of neglected my creative endeavors in order to save money by working as a guest service rep at a hotel..uh. But i need the cash to stock up on BPAL, my new obsession!
I also love chocolate(gooey, dark, hot) whatever. And coffee is divine.
Give me a beach and a starry night and I am a happy girl.

    Shango

I sprung for a bottle of this one because I am lover of all things tropical and could NOT pass up a scent with banana and coconut. In the bottle I get mostly pineapple and banana with something else coming out too. On the skin, the different components take turns...sweet banana and pineapple at first, then I can smell the apple. Something else is there that I don't really recognize, which must be the chili pepper. This is wonderfully blended, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of fruity scents. Wow...this is another amazing blend from Beth & Co.

    Yemaya

The description of this one seemed like pure loveliness to me so I decided to go with a 5ml...SOO glad I did. This is all Cantaloupe and honeydew-goodness on my skin and in the bottle. This is a very summertime scent...bright, happy, and cooling. Seriously, I smell like I have cantaloupe smeared all over...could be fun huh? Must give mad thanks to the labbies for this divine blend!

    Rose Cross

First off, thank you to the lab for the frimp! This was the first of the imps that I opened and was struck at how lovely it is. This is pure, clean roses to me. I haven't really had much experience with any of the rose blends so I don't have any thing to compare it to, but this really is a lovely rose scent. I have to agree with others who have found them to be wet, like freshly watered roses in a vase--not like grandma potpourri roses. I am reminded of something, but I cannot place it. It is a very evocative scent. I am not religious but I did go to mass a few times when I was younger so perhaps that is what I am smelling (after reading the other reviews and the description, that would be a reasonable explaination!) I like this a lot and highly recommend it if you love roses.

    The Star

I had to order this because I love all things coconut and, after reading a few of the reviews, I thought this would suit me! In the bottle: Lime, very lime. In fact, my first thought was of Key West, which is one of my favorite places, and of Key lime pie, which is divine. I can smell the coconut but it is being overpowered by the lime. On my skin: Lovely, a lovely tropical blend. The coconut comes out a bit more and I think I am getting some vanilla notes also. Drydown: The Star makes me happy. It is a very happy scent. The throw is nice and and it lasts longer than some of the recent blends I have tried. I love the tropical feel to it. I'm keeping the bottle. I am gonna have to buy a plane ticket now because I really want to lay on the beach in the sun and feel sand between my toes and frolick, yes that is what I want to do. And I want some pie...yumm

    The Red Queen

Thanks lab for the frimp! In the Vial: The cherry is very strong...reminds me of the Queen of Hearts. On my skin: Wow...this goes on like chocolate covered cherries! Seriously I am reminded of opening a new box before christmas and popping the juicy candy into my mouth...delicious! Drydown: This really was a morpher on me...soon after applying, the cherry nearly disappeared and all I am getting is a woodsy smell. I like it but I miss the fruity aspect. Some above mentioned pencil shavings and that is a perfect description. Sadly, I think this is gonna be with my swaps.

    Saint-Germain

Thanks so much lab for the frimp..lovin' you! In the Vial: Very masculine and fresh. We'll see how this reacts with me... On my skin: The mosses are coming out at me the most, and maybe the amber. I don't think I am proficient enough to distinguish yet between the various components. I do get a little bit of lavender though, and I agree with Torrilin on the leather. I see a study with shelves lined with books and a sexy, slightly off man swinging his pocketwatch. He knows he is sexy, yeah, he definitely does. The more I smell this the more I like it, even though I have never really wanted to wear anything masculine. Conclusion: I could cry...my imp just spilled all over my desk...I am trying to make the most of it by slathering my wrists and neck with the spillage. Hmm...maybe I'll have to track down another imp!

    The Queen of Hearts

*First Review Ever!* Thanks to the lab for the frimp. I know I never would have ordered this and I am thrilled at free smellies! In the vial: This is very sweet, cherry candy sweet. Very red. In fact, I don't get any white at all. I think I am gonna like it! On skin: The cherry is still what stands out for me. I love it! It does calm down a bit and I think I am getting some florals--it is clean and bright. I love fruity smells and the cherry in this one is really lovely. Conclusion: I can see why this is called the Queen of Hearts. I am wondering if Beth decides on the name of the oil first then mixes it up, or decides on a formula then smells it and names it...because for me, this smell encaptures a queen: haughty, bold, beautiful, and RED(like a heart!) I am only disappointed that it doesn't last long for me. I feel like I have to reapply often, so I don't think I would invest in a 5ml but I will definitly keep the imp!
