  1. I received this as a frimp from the Lab :P

In the vial: rum, tobacco and a spicy sweetness.

Wet: hmm, I'm not sure if I like this. There is something funky coming out. Perhaps the leather?

Dry: OMG! Party in a bottle! All of the elements work so well together. This scent is sweet, spicy, boozy and smoky all at the same time. It reminds me of walking into an upscale after hours club. Love it!

  2. I was very happy to track down a decant of this scent.

In the vial: wow, super peppermint. Reminds me of some of the flavorings that were used when I worked for an ice cream manufacterer.

Wet: this scent reminds me of the inside of Junior Mints candy. Yummy!

Dry: mint works really well with my chemistry. This is the first "foody" scent that has really worked for me. Scrumptious!

  3. I was thrilled to track down a decant of teh Smut.

In the vial: boozy vanilla and swarthy musk. I think I am going to cry because this smells really good and I was foolish not to order a big bottle when I had the chance.

Wet: Hmm. I'm not sure that I like this b/c the scent reminds me of falling asleep in one's clothes after a big night out.

Dry: No, not for me. I am happy that I got to try this scent, but I am no longer pining for a big bottle.

  4. Oya

In the vial: plum, fig, herbs. Quite sweet.

Wet: plum, fig, a waft of smoky incense. Very complex.

Dry: Wow, this blend keeps morphing over time. It started out as a ripe fruit, soft floral blend and then morphed in to an blend of plum, incense, and exotic spices. I still get a hint of fig, which is a good thing. This is a beautiful complex blend that may merit a big bottle purchase!

  5. ... Blackened sandalwood and misty lavender, with curling wisps of smoky tobacco, nag champa, and labdanum.

I received this as a frimp from the Lab :P

In the vial:lavender and nag champa. I am already drooling!

Wet: lavender, nag champa, and sandalwood. Kind of masculine.

Dry: oh, I love this! I think this scent can be worn by men and women. I will wear it on my "hippy chick" days.

  6. I received this as a frimp from the Lab :P

In the vial: sparkling sweet floral. Very pretty.

    Wet: sweet and springy.

Dry: this scent morphed a lot on me. At first it was fruity, then it turned to sickly sweet floral, like over ripe fruit. I had high hopes for this, but it just didn't work on me.

  7. In the vial: the blend is really well balanced. Floral, yet herbal and the faintest hint of musk.

Wet: I am getting a major scent memory. I have smelled this scent before, but I can't place it. It is a good memory, though.

Dry: Oh, this is fabulous! Truly a bewitching brew! I will be ordering a big bottle and this scent may have found a place on my Top Ten list. :P

  8. In the vial: honey and herbs. This scent reminds me of the smell of honey straight from the hive; sweet, herbal and floral all at the same time.

Wet: fresh, unprocessed honey with green a green herbal tang.

Dry: honey sweetness, brushed with herbs and spring flowers. The perfect scent for Spring!

  9. In the vial: smells like my favorite broiled fig dessert!

Wet: I love figs and this scent does not dissapoint. Sweet, ripe, yet green, earthy and spicy.

Dry: This is the first BPAL blend that DH said that he likes. Perhaps a man's heart (and sense of smell) is through his stomach. This scent is a 10ml purchase for me. :P it.

  10. I received this decant as part of a swap.

In the vial: minty, but not chewing gum mint. More subtle and there is a sweetness that I can't identify.

Wet: Wow. This is very complex, not just straight mintiness.

Dry: This is a really lovely blend! There is a sweetness and green note in the background rounds off the mints. I have done the unthinkable and fallen in love with a discontinued LE!

  11. Peonies are one of my favorite flowers, so I had to have this lunacy blend!

In the bottle: peony with a subtle green and slightly aquatic note.

Wet: gorgeous pink peonies in full bloom. I feel like I just rolled on flowers from my Raspberry Sorbet herbaceous peony.

Dry: The subtle green and aquatic note comes forward and blends with the peony. A really beautiful blend. I wish I had ordered more than one bottle.

  12. I've heard so much about Snake Oil that I ordered an imp in February and just got to trying it.

    In the vial: Mexican vanilla.

    Wet: Mexican vanilla.

Dry: Natural and artificial vanilla extract, the kind used for ice cream sandwiches. I didn't get any spicy deliciousness at all. I will let this age and then try again.

  13. I am so happy to have found some decants of La Fee Verte.

In the vial: wormwood and sweet vanilla.

Wet: Very complex. Herbal, yet sweet at the same time.

Dry: The sweet vanilla and musk really jumped to the fore front. I've learned that vanilla does not mix well with my chemistry. I enjoy the catalog Absinthe scent, so I will stick with that.

  14. I received this scent as a frimp from the Lab :P

In the vial: woodsy and sweet bergamot.

Wet: woodsy, bergamot, and lush tropical floral.

Dry: This scent is kind of masculine on me, but I like it anyway. I think this scent would be fantastic on a man and I will try it in my scent lockets.

  15. In the vial: this is an amazing blend and I can't identify individual notes.

Wet: This is a floral for people who think they don't like florals. Crisp and airy, yet subtle floral notes.

On: Fabulous! An unusual blend that is fresh and vibrant, yet subtle enough to wear to the most conservative office.

  16. In the vial: light floral. Must be the stephanotis because the floral is not as exotic as the other BPAL orchid scents.

Wet: Light floral and kind of medicinal. Where is the vanilla?

Dry: Medicinal and flower-y. Huh, I tried this twice and had the same experience both times. I am disappointed because orchid scents usually work so well on me.
