    Jabberwocky

On me, Jabberwocky is straight-up fresh Christmas tree. It's a little bracing at first but it mellows out when it sinks into my skin. There's a hint of eucalyptus once it dries but I'm not getting any orange, which I'm thankful for because I think it might make it a little too astringent.

    Sylvia

Snuggly brown musk, spicy carnation, leather balsam, bourbon vanilla, terebinth pine, yew berry, and a touch of clove. In this bottle this is snuggly, musky goodness but something goes horribly wrong on my skin. First of all, I'm usually wary of scents with cinnamon because my skin is fairly sensitive. Although Sylvia doesn't have cinnamon or casia listed as a note, this caused a red, sore welt not five minutes after application. I wanted to pin it on the clove but I've never had that reaction with any other clove heavy oils. The welt subsided after fifteen minutes and I got a good sniff. There's musk and maybe a tiny hint of leather but the overall feeling is just unbearably medicinal. The carnations are soapy, not spicy. I'm not picking up any pine whatsoever. It reminds me way too strongly of the zinc eugenol base we use in cavity filling preps in dentistry. Sylvia is quite the heartbreaker for me.

    Snooty Rose

I received a frimp of this as part of my latest group order and if you know anything about my scent tastes then you know this is definitely not something I would have ordered on my own. I can't handle heavy florals and I can only think of one scent I own that has rose listed as a main note. That being said: I definitely don't hate this! The sandalwood mellows it out enough that it doesn't read as "old ladyish" to me at all. I'm going to try and layer it with something herbal and then something with strong vanilla and see if either makes a combo that I could see myself wearing every day. It has a fairly weak throw but it does last for a long time.

    Totentanz

This bottle was thrown onto my latest group order as a gift to my boyfriend but of course I had to get a test in to see how the scent differs once it hits our skins. On him this is definitely leather dominant. The clove and pepper make an appearance after an hour or two on the skin but the musky leather is what holds strong through the wear. It's masculine and sophisticated and lasts a very long time. On me Totentanz is a little stranger. I know it sounds crazy but this makes me think of a leather version of Chrysanthemum Moon. It definitely has a floral edge on the drydown. Maybe my brain is just interpreting the heavy musks as a heavy flower though. I don't really get the clove or pepper, which is sad, but it's nice if I want something with a sombre, dreary feel. The only reason this isn't a keeper for me is that my skin seems to eat it right up.

    Samhain in the Pumpkin Patch

Samhain in the Pumpkin Patch is pretty much everything I'd hope it would be. The first sniff from the bottle scared me. It was like cloyingly sweet pumpkin booze. Once applied, it becomes less sweet and more complicated. I sniff deeply and smell apple, spices and dry woods all simmering underneath creamy (but not too foody) pumpkin. I wish I could detect any patch or fir like I do in the original Samhain but it's still gorgeous and definitely embodies Autumn delights.

    Und wir Dachten der Toten

This is super nice, not what I was expecting and a total morpher. In the bottle this is all earthy coffee bean. As soon as it hits my skin the patchouli makes an appearance and there's more of a sweetness but I wouldn't say I get vanilla per-say. On the drydown, it takes on almost a floral-spice edge. The notes that were there before are still present but there's now an underlying "perfuminess" to it. The throw is medium. I really like it but it disappears completely within two hours. Maybe I'll try it in a scent locket.

    Blackbear Moon

When I first read the description my initial thought was "Beth made a late winter/early spring blend JUST FOR ME". This is definitely very nice but unfortunately too much honey+berries and not enough nuts+warm fur for my liking. When I smell it straight out of the bottle or dabbed on fabric, it retains more of the creamy qualities of the nuts so maybe I'll have to cave and finally get a scent locket. I mean-I have no other choice, right?

    Wrath

Wrath's spicy goodness disappeared within 20 minutes on my skin. But when I tried it on my clothes and in a scent in a scent locket-pure,intense cinnamon hearts.

What do bottles and labels look like?

Ahhh...I wasn't even all that interested in Agape until I saw this label.Go Ask Alice has always been my forum skin of choice because I love anything Wonderland.I'm the worst at talking myself out of buying bottle just because of their labels!

What do bottles and labels look like?

Could someone pretty, pretty please (with a cherry SN on top!) post a photo of the Beaver'versary label?!!!

    Van Van

In the imp, this smells absolutely vile.Like a dark festering swam of lemon verbena. On my skin, this gets only slightly better-heavy patchouli with lemongrass and....sage?This one is coming soon to a frimp package near you!

    Séance

To me,this is Old Lady in a Bottle. That's about all I can say about that.

    Pumpkin Cheesecake

It's very much pumpkin, which I adore, but I wish I got more of the cheesecake in it.I was picturing something like a cross between Pumpkin Patch #1 and Beaver Moon but it's more like Jack mixed with Gunpowder.Like I said,I still absolutely love it,just not what I expected.I plan on ordering a White Rabbit locket as a Yule present to myself so I'll have to try it in there and see if I like it even more.On a scale of 1-10,this is a 9.

    Namaste

Ya know when you walk into a Lush store and you're overwhelmed by the intense smell? That overbearing patchouli mixed with some citrus and musk? That what Namaste is to me...BUT it's not nearly as overwhelming and headache inducing as a trip to Lush so that's a plus.I've worn it to work acouple of times,it seems to keep me grounded during long days on my feet.

    Enraged Groundhog Musk

This is a strange one indeed...and I'm still not sure if I like it or not. It's spicy, more musky and less foody than I thought it would be.Kinda smells like sophisticat red hots...does that make sense?

    Perversion

This just plain smells evil.In the best way possible.Body warmed leather with a hint of wine is what I'm smelling.Maybe a faint tonka bean perfume rubbed off from some writhing female slave. So naughty!

    Kindly Moon

It's like a glass of sparkling apple juice dranken in a garden of flowers just beginning to bloom.Really pleasant but I just don't do florals.

    Tiresias, the Androgyne

This is definately caramel. But it's sophisticated caramel.I smell something "aged",like a fine caramel tobacco or rum.Doesn't last long but has a pretty powerful throw.

    Boomslang

To me it smells like dry cocoa and soy milk. And alittle bit of dry woods hanging out in the background.Ultimately-not for me.Although I'm going to be after an empty bottle because I absolutely ADORE all things snakes.

    Asp Viper (2006)

Ohhhhh how I wish the first stage of Asp Viper held on longer. It's a beautiful sweet amaretto almond scent that makes my mouth water but soon after it dries down... It smells like slightly spicy almond flour to me.Not bad,but not great either.Foody but not super sweet. Has a fairly light throw but last quite long.

    Spooky

In the bottle,Spooky is minty Midway!I got really excited but... On my skin,it smells like chewing plasticy spearmint gum while walking through a very sanitary hospital.Bleh!

    Chrysanthemum Moon

I'll start by saying that this is the longest lasting BPAL blend I've tried so far, which is great. In the bottle,it's alittle too floral for my taste but I gave it a try before I dismissed it.Once dry on my skin,it's a warm, only slighty floral incense.Definately does bring to mind an opium den.Very comforting!

    Mitzvah

Mm Mm Mitzvah!Reminds me of creme brule! It's definately a "burnt" sugar smell.I admit it smells a bit better in the bottle than on my skin but it's still my all time favorite Inquistion blend.Doesn't last long, medium throw.

What do bottles and labels look like?

I absolutely adore snakes so I think I'm still gonna have to try and grab empty bottles of all of the Snake Pit blends that don't interest me!

    Lick It

Wow,this is definately dead-on candy canes.A sweet but not creamy peppermint candy scent.I'm not a big mint fan but I actually don't mind this at all!
