  1. I found BPAL when I was 6 months pregnant & honestly never knew EO should be avoided. Definately check. FWIW I had no complications & smelled lovely! She could tuck a cotton ball in the front of her bra with a drop of oil on it (no contact with skin to be extra safe). I like to wear BPAL in my hair--just a drop on the ends.

  2. Mmmmmmmm....good!

    Fruity. Flowery. Rainy. Smoky.

In the vial: Yuck. I'm not going to like this...

Wet: Bright fruit--then Wham! Puff of smoke.

On my skin: Still fruity--like yuzu or starfruit.

Dry down: Flowers. Not sure what flowers. But light ones.

Good pick me up scent, but rats, doesn't seem to last that long. I think I might buy a big on! It really surprised me.

  3. I love apricots.

    I like rabbits, too.

March Hare is so nice. I have the single note of apricot & it's a bit too something for me--candle-y maybe? But March Hare isn't like that, I guess because of the clove.

I've been looking for a sleepy time scent & I think I've found it! It relaxes me beyond belief. Yea! March Hare!

  4. Unseelie & Persephone turn Play-doh on me. There aren't any common ingredients listed so the only thing I can figure is that there is some sort of base oil used. The BPAL website says that the fragrances are 85-100% perfume oil, which makes me think there is a carrier oil used. That or the secret 15% is eau de 'Doh :P

  5. Soft rosey fragrance--soapy & watery in a good bubble bath way. I know I've sniffed this before--my granny was an Avon lady & it reminds me of her house & the hours my mother sister & I would dig through the shoe boxes under the beds in her house of all her samples & orders. :P

Doesn't seem to last that long on me, but I like the youthful rosiness of it.

  6. Cranberries?

Smells like tropical fruit juice--mango & passion fruit! Very tart & makes my mouth pucker & water! I'm serious! I love it. Reminds me of summer or the tropics rather than anything autumnal.

    Now I'm thirsty.

  7. Claritin-D 12 hour for allergies & sinus. The Claritin part blocks what's causing your sinuses to swell while the D part (decongestant) reduces the inflammation. Tylenol or Advil for the pain. Also, for quick relief--nasal spray. Sometimes, that's the only thing that will work if I wake up with a sinus headache.

Oh, I take the generic brands of all of these medicines. Alavert is a cheaper Claritin.

Those Therma Care (is that right) heat pads are great! They make some for menstrual pain.

  8. Wow! I got this in a swap & am loving it! Doesn't remind me of a hurricane or really anything aquatic at all. There's a lovely earthiness about it & I find it very cozy. Reminds me of an Indian Summer. It's very masculine to me, but i wouldn't mind wearing it myself.

  9. I LOVE THIS!!! It's crisp--not too sweet, not too sharp (like green or white tea). I don't smell any booze. This is really good. I want a gallon of it. It's 105 heat index today & I want to bathe in it.

It bizarrely reminds me of the most fabulous makeout session of my entire life--out in the snow in the moonlight.

I want to fly to LA & wait on the Lab's doorstep until I get some.

  10. Got this as a freebie--very interesting! It reminds me of Dr Pepper (without the fizz)! Weird eh? Maybe that's it--it's essence of flat Dr Pepper--like that last dribble from the can that's been sitting in your hot car.

As far as the voodoo aspect of it--I definately have had lovin' on the brain. So maybe those high priestess' do know what they're doing!

  11. First Impression: Whoa! Grape soda. Very strong grape fragrance which smells exactly like Poison cologne to me (flashback to 1989 & high school--yikes!)

after 30 minutes or so the grape has died down and there is a very pretty, but soft floral fragrance. Much better.

Overall, I'm not sure I can get past the dominate initial grape enough to order it. The dry down floral is beautiful, but fades too quickly on me.

  12. Not to complicate things (especially since you've placed an order!), but the spice in your Bonne Bell may have been carnation...You may also be interested in Maiden (which has both rose & carnation). I love both! Alice is all cream on me with just a hint of floral, while Maiden is all floral that I smell under Alice. I wish both lasted longer on me. They are great!

  13. I didn't smell any rose at all--out of the vial, wet or dry! :P

Very sweet like Smarties candies (which I LOVE), but on me Persephone morphed into a powdery playdough smell & was completely repulsive. How sad...

  14. Thank you everyone!!! I finally narrowed my list down & placed an order--although after re-reading this thread, there are so many others I forgot to look up! Rats!!!

    Here's what I ordered:

    Lightning

    Pele

    Ouija

    Shattered

    Storm

    Tempest

    Whitechapel

    Tears

    Lucy's Kiss

    Spellbound

    Baobhan Sith

    Kumiho

    Phobos

    Cheshire Cat

    The Dormouse

    The Unicorn

    Katharina

    The Star

Hopefully, some of these will work great & aren't too heavy, yet long lasting on me. I also impulse purchased some June Gloom--hopefully they still have some.

Keep your fingers crossed for me! thanks again for everyone's recommendations!

    Your Pal,

    Babykitty

  15. I have Lightning & Tempest on my "to try list" (which is getting longer every freakin' day)!

I wish I could pin down what it was that stopped me up so fiercely. I was in denial for a few days--it's the weather, it's the pollen, it's the mold...

Guess I"ll just have to try some more & find something else. Fortunately, I do have a few other bigger bottle contenders--Alice & Maiden--but Jolly Roger was the first one that I immediately adored--and it had great lasting power on me...sigh...

Damn! He's no good for me & I just want him that much more!

  16. I can't believe it...It's taken me a while to find a BPAL that I totally adore & want to purchase in mass quantities and now after several "tests" it would appear that Jolly Roger is the culprit behind my sinuses swelling shut.

DAMN! It's so unfair! I'm contemplating whether or not to go ahead & buy a larger size & a case of Claritin D...Sounds like a bad relationship, eh???

I just love him so! Sniff, sniff! (Well, if I could sniff...)
