    Scents with almonds?

Maybe you are one of those people who can detect cyanide!

    Where is this scent?

    Red Moon?

    BPAL and pregnancy

I found BPAL when I was 6 months pregnant & honestly never knew EO should be avoided. Definately check. FWIW I had no complications & smelled lovely! She could tuck a cotton ball in the front of her bra with a drop of oil on it (no contact with skin to be extra safe). I like to wear BPAL in my hair--just a drop on the ends.

    Machu Picchu

Mmmmmmmm....good! Fruity. Flowery. Rainy. Smoky. In the vial: Yuck. I'm not going to like this... Wet: Bright fruit--then Wham! Puff of smoke. On my skin: Still fruity--like yuzu or starfruit. Dry down: Flowers. Not sure what flowers. But light ones. Good pick me up scent, but rats, doesn't seem to last that long. I think I might buy a big on! It really surprised me.

    March Hare

I love apricots. I like rabbits, too. March Hare is so nice. I have the single note of apricot & it's a bit too something for me--candle-y maybe? But March Hare isn't like that, I guess because of the clove. I've been looking for a sleepy time scent & I think I've found it! It relaxes me beyond belief. Yea! March Hare!

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

Hmmm...Maybe your formula is actually "Follow Me Doctor-Boy" I'd email the lab & ask them what the culprit might be so that you could avoid that ingredient in the future. Something in Tintagel disagreed with my skin, but it wasn't too bad. Just a red whelp. I have more sinus issues than skin. You may try it on a cotton ball in your bra or some in your hair.

    Play-Doh smell -- should I dilute?

Unseelie & Persephone turn Play-doh on me. There aren't any common ingredients listed so the only thing I can figure is that there is some sort of base oil used. The BPAL website says that the fragrances are 85-100% perfume oil, which makes me think there is a carrier oil used. That or the secret 15% is eau de 'Doh

    Moon Rose

Soft rosey fragrance--soapy & watery in a good bubble bath way. I know I've sniffed this before--my granny was an Avon lady & it reminds me of her house & the hours my mother sister & I would dig through the shoe boxes under the beds in her house of all her samples & orders. Doesn't seem to last that long on me, but I like the youthful rosiness of it.

    Lampades

Cranberries? Smells like tropical fruit juice--mango & passion fruit! Very tart & makes my mouth pucker & water! I'm serious! I love it. Reminds me of summer or the tropics rather than anything autumnal. Now I'm thirsty.
  10. Claritin-D 12 hour for allergies & sinus. The Claritin part blocks what's causing your sinuses to swell while the D part (decongestant) reduces the inflammation. Tylenol or Advil for the pain. Also, for quick relief--nasal spray. Sometimes, that's the only thing that will work if I wake up with a sinus headache. Oh, I take the generic brands of all of these medicines. Alavert is a cheaper Claritin. Those Therma Care (is that right) heat pads are great! They make some for menstrual pain.

How to remove scents from your skin

Gotta second the baby wipes! I slathered myself with Baobhan Sith the other day & realized that what works on my wrist doesn't neccessarily work on my neck. Baby wipes were handy & did the trick perfectly.
  12. Hurricane smells earthy & humid to me. Kind of swampy.

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

Jolly Roger caused my sinuses to swell shut. Pity, too, I was totally in love with him! Something in Tintagel caused the spot on my arm to turn bright red & raised a bump. I decided it was best to not try it again.

What BPAL scents could represent a mermaid?

Tears, Lightning, Tempest & Storm are also oceanic. Hurricane & Jolly Roger are too, but more merman than maid. You might consider layering one of these with a floral to capture essence o' mermaid.

    Hurricane

Wow! I got this in a swap & am loving it! Doesn't remind me of a hurricane or really anything aquatic at all. There's a lovely earthiness about it & I find it very cozy. Reminds me of an Indian Summer. It's very masculine to me, but i wouldn't mind wearing it myself.

    Shattered

I LOVE THIS!!! It's crisp--not too sweet, not too sharp (like green or white tea). I don't smell any booze. This is really good. I want a gallon of it. It's 105 heat index today & I want to bathe in it. It bizarrely reminds me of the most fabulous makeout session of my entire life--out in the snow in the moonlight. I want to fly to LA & wait on the Lab's doorstep until I get some.

    Red Devil

Got this as a freebie--very interesting! It reminds me of Dr Pepper (without the fizz)! Weird eh? Maybe that's it--it's essence of flat Dr Pepper--like that last dribble from the can that's been sitting in your hot car. As far as the voodoo aspect of it--I definately have had lovin' on the brain. So maybe those high priestess' do know what they're doing!

    Wanda

First Impression: Whoa! Grape soda. Very strong grape fragrance which smells exactly like Poison cologne to me (flashback to 1989 & high school--yikes!) after 30 minutes or so the grape has died down and there is a very pretty, but soft floral fragrance. Much better. Overall, I'm not sure I can get past the dominate initial grape enough to order it. The dry down floral is beautiful, but fades too quickly on me.

Rose Recommendations - which blend is for me?

Not to complicate things (especially since you've placed an order!), but the spice in your Bonne Bell may have been carnation...You may also be interested in Maiden (which has both rose & carnation). I love both! Alice is all cream on me with just a hint of floral, while Maiden is all floral that I smell under Alice. I wish both lasted longer on me. They are great!
  20. Try putting some on a cotton ball & tucking it into the front of your bra. It finally occured to me to do this recently...Your cleavage will keep it warm & waft up to your nose, but the fragrance stays truer. I wish I had done this before I swapped a bunch of imps away!

    Persephone

I didn't smell any rose at all--out of the vial, wet or dry! Very sweet like Smarties candies (which I LOVE), but on me Persephone morphed into a powdery playdough smell & was completely repulsive. How sad...
  22. Thank you everyone!!! I finally narrowed my list down & placed an order--although after re-reading this thread, there are so many others I forgot to look up! Rats!!! Here's what I ordered: Lightning Pele Ouija Shattered Storm Tempest Whitechapel Tears Lucy's Kiss Spellbound Baobhan Sith Kumiho Phobos Cheshire Cat The Dormouse The Unicorn Katharina The Star Hopefully, some of these will work great & aren't too heavy, yet long lasting on me. I also impulse purchased some June Gloom--hopefully they still have some. Keep your fingers crossed for me! thanks again for everyone's recommendations! Your Pal, Babykitty

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

I have Lightning & Tempest on my "to try list" (which is getting longer every freakin' day)! I wish I could pin down what it was that stopped me up so fiercely. I was in denial for a few days--it's the weather, it's the pollen, it's the mold... Guess I"ll just have to try some more & find something else. Fortunately, I do have a few other bigger bottle contenders--Alice & Maiden--but Jolly Roger was the first one that I immediately adored--and it had great lasting power on me...sigh... Damn! He's no good for me & I just want him that much more!

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

I can't believe it...It's taken me a while to find a BPAL that I totally adore & want to purchase in mass quantities and now after several "tests" it would appear that Jolly Roger is the culprit behind my sinuses swelling shut. DAMN! It's so unfair! I'm contemplating whether or not to go ahead & buy a larger size & a case of Claritin D...Sounds like a bad relationship, eh??? I just love him so! Sniff, sniff! (Well, if I could sniff...)
